Yu can dwnlad and install any PHP-based Bitnami applicatin, including WrdPress, Jmla!, Drupal, SugarCRM and thers, n tp f an existing Bitnami LAMP Stack deplyment. Find a list f all the supprted applicatin mdules. Once yu have dwnladed the applicatin mdule, fllw the steps belw t install it: Change t the directry cntaining the dwnladed mdule and make it executable. Then, execute the installatin script. During the installatin prcess, yu will als need t specify the current database administratr's passwrd (the passwrd fr user rt fr MySQL databases and user pstgres fr PstgreSQL databases). This passwrd is part f the applicatin credentials. Find ut hw t btain credentials in the FAQ. During the installatin prcess, yu will als be prmpted t create an administratr accunt fr the applicatin, by prviding a user name and/r an email address. Sme applicatin mdules may als ask yu t specify a passwrd. NOTE: If nt specifically prmpted fr a passwrd, the default administratr passwrd fr the applicatin is autmatically set t the same value as the database administratr's passwrd prvided in the previus step. This default administratr passwrd can be changed at any time thrugh the applicatin's Web administratin panel r Web dashbard, after the mdule has been successfully installed. Add yur PHP script t the /pt/bitnami/apache2/htdcs/ directry, then brwse t it via the URL http://server-ip/filename.php, where FILENAME is the name f the PHP script. Fr an example, refer t the sectin n using phpinf. NOTE: If yur script file is named index.php, then yu must access it using the URL http://server-ip/index.php and nt http://server-ip. This is because the Apache server included in the AMP stack is cnfigured t recgnize bth index.html and index.php files by default, but t give the included index.html file pririty. T alter this behaviur, simply mve the /pt/bitnami/apache2/htdcs/index.html file t a different lcatin. What are the "develpment" and "prductin" mdes fr applicatins?
Applicatins are cnfigured using prductin mde n clud servers by default. These servers already include a lcal FTP server (vsftpd) that it is nly available fr lcal cnnectins (nt remte cnnectins). Sme applicatins like WrdPress, Jmla!, Magent r Drupal are cnfigured t use this server t dwnlad and install plugins, themes r any extensin. Hw t access phpmyadmin? Fr security reasns, phpmyadmin is accessible nly when using 127.0.0.1 as the hstname. T access it frm a remte system, yu must create an SSH tunnel that rutes requests t the Apache Web server frm 127.0.0.1. This implies that yu must be able t cnnect t yur server ver SSH in rder t access these applicatins remtely. IMPORTANT: Befre fllwing the steps belw, ensure that yur Apache and MySQL servers are running. NOTE: The steps belw suggest using prt 8888 fr the SSH tunnel. If this prt is already in use by anther applicatin n yur lcal machine, replace it with any ther prt number greater than 1024 and mdify the steps belw accrdingly. Similarly, if yu have enabled Varnish, yur stack's Apache Web server might be running n prt 81. In this case, mdify the steps belw t use prt 81 instead f prt 80 fr the tunnel endpint. Windws T access the applicatin using yur Web brwser, create an SSH tunnel, as described belw. Dwnlad PuTTY and make sure yu can lg in t the server cnsle with it fllwing the instructins in the FAQ. Once yu have cnfirmed yu are able t lg in successfully, lg back ut. Recnnect t the server using PuTTY, this time adapting the steps t include an additinal SSH tunnel. When cnfiguring the new SSH sessin in PuTTY, additinally navigate t the "Cnnectin -> SSH -> Tunnels" sectin and create a secure tunnel by frwarding prt 80 n the server t prt 8888 n the lcal hst (127.0.0.1 r lcalhst). Click the "Add" buttn t add the secure tunnel cnfiguratin t the sessin. Here is an example:
