Combating Pharmacrime A Knowledge Building Conference on Counterfeit Medicines 26-28 A Co-hosted event by EUROPOL & EU Observatory on IP Infringements (PSI) AGENDA T he specific purpose of the event is to explore the growth of counterfeit medicines Pharmacrime and to build greater knowledge and competences in enforcement. Pharmacrime is a global term that covers a wide range of infractions and offences related to public health and this programme has been developed to bring a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical products and doping substances. It is acknowledged that only a comprehensive approach, using the capabilities of many different agencies, is likely to bring long term success responses in this area. T herefore, EU police, customs, health and medicines Regulatory agencies and private partner experts will collaborate on encouraging exchanges of expertise and developing more efficient ways of tackling the associated problems. A specific focus will be given to cross border and inter-agency cooperation, fostering greater understanding and more effective joint approaches. Speakers include representatives from Europol, the Council of Europe ( EDQM), INTERPOL, WCO, WGEO, EU Member States and Private Sector experts.
