Chapter One General Introduction 1.1 Products Overview OK335x series single board computers are industrial and high performance development platform which is designed, manufactured and marketed by Forlinx Embedded Technology Co.,Ltd in China. All these single board computers are integrated with TI AM335X Cortex-A8 processor with main frequency up to 1GHz. AM335x processor integrates with 2 gigabit Ethernet interfaces, CAN, IIC, LCD controller and PowerVR SGX530 graphics accelerator, which could be widely used in industrial controlling and multi-media terminals etc. Forlinx AM335X single board computer is of CPU module + Base board Structure. CPU module adopts 8-layer ENIG PCB while base board is designed as 2-layer PCB board. Customers could design your specific base board depending on our CPU module, which will help shorten the product development and release time. Based on the AM335X CPU characteristics, Forlinx Embedded has released 3 different single board computers: OK335xD, OK335xS and OK335xS-II. CPU module and base board are connected via 200 pin connector, while OK335xS, OK335xS-II use 136 pin stamp hole soldering to connect CPU module and base board, which is more stable and reliable in some special application environment. OK335xD, OK335xS and OK335xS-II all use TI AM3354 processor. Their main frequency reach up to 800MHz/720MHz and operating temperature ranges from -40 ~+85. All products have successfully passed CE&FCC certifications. 4

Chapter Two OK335xD Single Board Computer 2.1 Product Introduction OK335xD single board computer is designed in the structure of CPU module + Base boar. CPU module is named as FET335xD and the whole single board computer is named as OK335xD single board computer. OK335xD single board computer and FET335xD both have two different versions: commercial version and industrial version. Different points between industrial and commercial single board computers: All BOM components on industrial single board computer are selected according to industrial standard. Industrial OK335xD single board computer could stably run under harsh and electromagnetic environment. Running temperature: -40 ~+85. Industrial OK335xD single board computer has RS485 and CAN interfaces, which are both designed with insulation protection. Industrial OK335xDsingle board computer offer 16bit data bus and12bit address for function expansion. Industrial OK335xDsingle board computer has pass CE&FCC certification. Common points of two version single board computers: Hardware watchdog is provided for both single board computers for stable system recovery. ESD is added to USB, audio, press button, RS485, CAN to prevent damages caused by static electricity. OK335xD commercial single board computer interfaces are as follows: 6

2.1.1 FET335xD CPU Module OK335x Products Guide FET335xD CPU module is a highly integrated CPU module based on TI Sitara AM3354 processor. It integrates with 512Mbyte DDR3, 256Mbyte SLC Nandflash and power management IC TPS65217C. This CPU module adopts 8-layer ENIG PCB board and is connected with base board via 100x2 Pin connectors. 2.1.2 OK335xD Single Board Computer OK335xD single board computer is a high performance development platform based on FET335xD CPU module. It adopts 200pin high speed DIP connector to ensure stability and reliability. Base board has most of debug and other interfaces from CPU module. It could be connected with 4.3, 5, 7, 8, 10.4-inch LCD, LCD to VGA module and LCD to LVDS module. OK335xD single board computer has two versions for your selection. Commercial OK335xD Single Board Computer (Top View) 8

Industrial OK335xD Single Board Computer (Top View) Compared with industrial OK335xD single board computer, commercial OK335xD is more cost effective. It could be operated under room condition while industrial OK335xD could be applied in harsh environment, such as: extremely high and low temperature condition, vibration environment and electronic magnetic environment, etc. Pin definition, size, structure and interface definition of commercial and industrial OK335xD CPU board are totally same with each other. The only different points are: 1. Industrial single board computer has 16bit data bus and 12bit address bus for function expansion. 2. Industrial OK335xD adopts horizontal and insulated RS485 and CAN connectors; commercial OK335xD is designed with vertical connectors and without insulation protection. Software resources for Industrial and commercial OK335xD are same. Linux, Android4.2, Android2.3, WinCE6, WinCE7 OS all could run on these two boards. 9

Chapter 3 OK335xS Single Board Computer 3.1 Product Introduction 3.1.1 FET335xS Single Board Computer FET335xS is a low cost, high performance and scalable CPU module. It is designed with TI Cortex-A8 AM335x series processor. Its running main frequency could reach up to 800MHz/1GHz, It supports Linux3.2, Android4.2, Android2.3, WinCE7.0 OS. It is of 8-layer ENIG PCB board, with excellent electricity and anti-interference characteristics. Furthermore, it is connected via stamp hole soldering, which is more stable and could be widely applied in the POS/PDA/PND devices, HMI, medical test devices, etc. FET335xS CPU Module (Top View) 15

3.1.2 OK335xS Introduction OK335x Products Guide OK335xS single board computer is working based on FET335xS CPU board. The base board has most of the interfaces and ports derived from CPU board and could be connected with 4.3, 5, 7, 8, 10.4-inch LCDs, LCD to VGA module and LCD to LVDS module. Chapter 5 Additional Remarks Forlinx Embedded Technology Co.,Ltd released 3 single board computers: OK335xD, OK335xS, OK335xS-II single board computer based on TI AM335x processor. Industrial AM3354 chip is selected and integrated on OK335xD, OK335xS and OK335xS-II single board computers. If it is needed, custom services for AM3352, AM3356, AM3357, AM3358, AM3359 could be provided. Differences between AM335x series processors are mainly focus on the main frequency, 3D graphics display and PRU subsystem. OK335xD, OK335xS, OK335xS-II select AM3354 processor by default which could run at 800MHz/720MHz main frequency and has 3D graphics system. It supports Android, Linux and WinCE operation systems.ok335xs-ii only supports Linux and WinCE OS. Differences among AM335X processors: 30

TI AM335x processor family: According to AM335x naming rule and CPU model, you could know CPU main frequency, hardware version No., operating temperature range, etc. CPU model for OK335xD, OK335xS, and OK335xS-II are AM3354BZCZD80 and AM3354ZCZD72. What s more, FET335xD CPU board and FET335xS are configured with of 512MB RAM and 256MB Nandflash; FET335xS-II CPU module is with 128MB RAM and 256MB Nandflash. As all these single board computers may be applied to different fields or industries, requirements to CPU module also are different, so that custom services for CPU module and whole controller board could be provided.
