Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems Version 2.0 Introduction This document describes version 2.0 of the Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems, which provides an interface between an AMX NetLinx system and a Polycom HDX or VSX system. This controller code is based upon the AMX Duet module. The Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems supports an RS-232 serial protocol or control over IP and was tested using Polycom HDX software version 2.0.1 and VSX software version 8.7. Both platforms share a common master code file but have separate touch panel files. The required RS-232 communication settings are a default baud rate of 9600, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, and no flow control. The required serial cable for this device uses pins 2, 3, and 5. Pin 2 is wired to pin 3, pin 3 is wired to pin 2, and pin 5 is wired to pin 5. Implementation When RS-232 controlled (the default configuration), the Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems communicates with the Polycom HDX or VSX system and exchanges information upon initialization. Communication is indicated on the touch panel by the spinning gears. When IP controlled, the Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems communicates with the Polycom HDX or VSX system after you comment or uncomment the pair of DEFINE_MODULE statements as needed in the DEFINE_START section of the master file and then set the IP address for the system to be controlled in the UI file in the DEFINE_VARIABLE section. Supported Touch Panel Sizes The Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems supports 12-inch touch panels. Features The Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems enables you to do the following: - Manually place or hang up an IP, ISDN, or POTS call - Place a multipoint call - Search and place a call from the phone book - Enable or disable far-end or near-end camera control - Select the main video source - Set up to six camera presets - Adjust the speaker volume level and mute or unmute the microphone - Enable or disable Auto Answer, Do Not Disturb, and Auto Mute - Select a multipoint viewing mode (auto, presentation, discussion, or full screen) - Enable or disable the Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and specify the PIP location - Simulate all remote control functionality - Start and stop sending content - View the system information - Reinitialize the system

Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems: Release Notes, Version 2.0 The Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems is based on the AMX Duet module developed by AMX and posted on the AMX web site. Polycom has made modifications and changes to the files which have gone through extensive Software Quality Assurance testing to verify that the API commands in both the Polycom and AMX posted modules work. This Polycom Contoller Code for AMX Systems is backwards compatible with previous versions and has been tested with Polycom HDX software version 2.0.1 and VSX software version 8.7. New Features in Version 2.0: Support for the VSX platform. Support for the RSS 2000 (Polycom HDX systems on software version 2.0.1 only). IR emulation for volume control, zoom control, and options (Polycom Remote page). Support for waking or placing the Polycom HDX or VSX system into sleep mode. Support for placing multipoint calls and hanging up individual sites in multipoint calls. Support for the global directory (Polycom HDX systems only). A button for hanging up analog audio calls. Button feedback for camera input switching for near and far sites. Feedback for system s IP address. Polycom Controller Code for AMX Systems: Release Notes, Version 1.0 Feature Limitation in Version 1.0: The first site name in the Address Book may be incorrect (Address Books page).
