Cmpleted wrk r prjects may be submitted fr either ral r pster presentatin. If the wrk r prject is nt yet cmplete at the time f submissin, the abstract may nly be submitted as a pster presentatin. If successfully reviewed, final abstract acceptance will be cnditinal upn registratin by the primary presenting authr. * *Please see the Hnr Sciety f Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau Internatinal (STTI) Presenter Acceptance Plicy regarding accepted presenters wh d nt present. Accepted presenters wh d nt attend will be sent a fllw-up letter explaining the plicy fr n-shws. Submissin Prcess Abstracts and references shuld nly be submitted in English. Abstracts shuld be between 300 1,500 wrds. The title, presenter infrmatin, cntent utline, and references shuld nt be included in the bdy f the abstract. In-text citatins, hwever, are apprpriate. These citatins will be included in the verall wrd cunt. Full references are required in an additinal field. The use f a wrd prcessing prgram, rather than the submissin frm, is recmmended fr cmpsing the abstract. Please check spelling, wrd cunt, and cnfrmatin t the guidelines prir t cpying the abstract nt the submissin frm. All abstract and presentatin materials must be in cmpliance with internatinal cpyright laws. Abstract title, cntent, and presentatin fcus shuld be riginal (nt previusly published r presented). We recgnize that a study, prject, r wrk may yield multiple findings and subsequently several riginal publicatins r presentatins. T be eligible t present, submissins must cntain an riginal title, abstract text, and subsequent presentatin cntent (i.e., different view, perspective, r fcus). Submissin Due Date: Submit all abstracts n later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time n 11 December 2017. An email with submissin ID # and a passwrd will autmatically be sent t the email included n the first page f the submissin nce the first page has been submitted. The link within this email can be used t access the submissin at any time prir t the submissin deadline. The ID # will be used fr uplading the PwerPint presentatin r PDF f the pster if the abstract is accepted fr presentatin. An individual may submit mre than ne abstract; hwever, if successfully reviewed, nly ne ral and ne pster submissin will be accepted fr presentatin in a given categry. Abstract submissins that are incmplete after the submissin deadline will nt be eligible fr presentatin and will n lnger be accessible by the authrs. Email ntificatin f abstract acceptance will be sent t the primary presenting authr nly by the end f January 2018. Only the primary presenting authr is required t cmplete this frm. This will be fr use in prmtinal materials, such as event brchures r marketing materials, if the abstract is accepted. This shuld be a shrt [minimum f 25 wrds, maximum f 50 wrds], cmpelling descriptin f the abstract that describes what participants shuld expect by attending the sessin.) The cntent utline step shuld include a detailed utline f the cntent t be included in the presentatin. A sample cntent utline is available n the submissin page. Keywrds Step Enter three (3) keywrds r phrases that relate t the tpic, practice setting, and/r target audience. Three (3) keywrds are required. Abstract Text Step The abstract shuld be a minimum f 300 wrds and nt mre than 1,500 wrds, recmmended 750 800 wrds. We suggest that abstracts be develped in a wrd prcessing prgram befre accessing the nline submissin frm. Use the spell check and wrd cunt features f yur wrd prcessr t check the text f the abstract befre submitting it. There is n need t shrten lines s that they fit inside the bx; the text will wrap autmatically t fit. Please remve all references t the title and authr infrmatin n the abstract befre cmpleting the submissin. Authrs shuld review the infrmatin submitted very carefully fr spelling, punctuatin, and grammatical errrs. Bibligraphic References Step Recmmended references shuld include mre than five schlarly references (e.g., science jurnal articles, bks). References shuld be recent and/r apprpriate fr the abstract (references shuld be n lder than 5 years, unless they are a seminal wrk). APA frmat style shuld be utilized with less than ne errr. Each sympsium sessin is scheduled fr a ttal f 45-75 minutes. Three (3) individual presentatins fllwed by questins at the end f the cncurrent sessin. Sympsia prvide an pprtunity t present research r evidence-based practices n ne tpic, ften frm multiple perspectives, prviding a cherent set f papers fr discussin. Pster Presentatins: A traditinal pster sessin is a single abstract presentatin by an individual r representatives f teams with an academic r prfessinal fcus. The wrk is peer-reviewed and presented n a large, usually printed placard, bill, r annuncement, ften illustrated, that is psted t publicize. It can als be a visual display f cmpleted r in-prgress wrk.
