CA MSM provides services that make it easier for you to do the following: Acquire, install, and deploy products Automatically obtain and apply maintenance These services enable you to easily manage your software based on industry accepted best practices. A web-based interface makes the look and feel of the environment friendly and familiar, enabling you to install and maintain your products faster and with less chance of error. Checks for Default Profile Defined in SMRT The product has been enhanced to check a profile defined as default profile in the SMRT, thus avoids it being deleted. Dynamic Logmodes The product has been enhanced to incorporate the Dynamic Logmode fields for session requests. The Logmode tables supplied in the SAMPJCL Library (TPXLGMOD, TPXLGMD2, TPXLGMD3, TPXLGMD4, TPXLGMD5) and Module DFA/csect DFA39 are modified. OS symbols in the VTAM model The product has been enhanced to include the usage of OS symbols to build VTAM modeling. Chapter 2: Enhancements to Existing Features 9

TEN0196 screen TEN0196 screen The product has been enhanced to allow TPX administrators to modify settings associated with a user in the TEN0196 screen. It helps to limit the user display by either count and/or a generic mask. It allows an administrator the ability to focus on a subset of the users and limit the memory usage inside TPX administrator routines. TPX Instances When Coupling Facility Fails The product has been enhanced to keep generic resource TPX instances active when the coupling facility structure fails till it is active again. Then the TPX instances will rebuild their portion of the coupling facility structure and allow sign-ons as usual. TPXOPER Commands Propagated to All TPX Instances The product has been enhanced to enable system-level TPXOPER commands to be propagated to all TPX instances within a generic pool. The TPXOPER commands, ACT, MOD, Q, and SPIN, is propagated to all TPX instances using the SYSID=ALL parameter. Note: The RELOAD TPXOPER command will always be propagated to all TPX instances in a generic pool. 10 Release Notes

Documentation Installation Guide The Installation Guide has been restructured and describes the following methods of installing your product: CA MSM Best Practices Guide The documentation set now includes a Best Practices Guide. This guide provides a brief introduction to CA Technologies Mainframe 2.0 strategy and functionality, and describes the best practices for installing and configuring CA TPX. These best practices represent years of product experience, much of which is based on customer experience reported through interviews with development, technical support, and technical services. Therefore, many of these best practices are truly a collaborative effort stemming from customer feedback. CA HTML Bookshelf This release contains the CA HTML bookshelf, which is an HTML help system that provides access to all deliverables in the product documentation set in both HTML and PDF. HTML provides robust online viewing and search capabilities, while PDF provides a print-friendly option. The HTML bookshelf features include: A single help screen that displays all documentation for this release. An all-in-one search tool that searches the entire documentation set and returns matches found in both the HTML and PDF formatted documentation, without the need for a specialized.pdx index file. Additional links for using the bookshelf, downloading Acrobat Reader, and contacting CA Technologies. Note: You must have Adobe Reader 8 or above to view the PDF files in the bookshelf. 12 Release Notes

Documentation Search the Bookshelf The bookshelf includes a search facility that helps you locate information throughout the set. To search the bookshelf 1. Enter your search criteria in the Search field in the upper right corner of the bookshelf and press Enter. The search returns HTML results listed by topic and PDF results listed by guide. The results are sorted by date so that the most recently updated topics or PDFs appear at the top of the list. To find a topic in a PDF, open the PDF and view the list of topics within the PDF that match the search criteria. 2. (Optional) Click Sort by Relevance.
