What is a domain name? Gives every Internet server an easy address (rather than remembering an IP address) Organized right to left, with more specific descriptors on the left. The most right descriptor is the top level domain the part after the dot The middle portion is known as the mid-level domain The machine name (www) is to the far left URL s and Domain names are not technically the same URL s are more specific.
