Retain Owner's Manual for future reference.. Be careful of the fan and blades when installing the receiver in the ceiling cover. Before installing or servicing the ceiling fan or receiver, switch power off at service panel and lock service panel to prevent power from being switched on accidentally. If the service panel cannot be locked, securely fasten a warning device, such as a tag, to the service panel. ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION. To avoid possible electrical shock, be sure electricity is turned off at the main fuse or circuit breaker box before wiring.. Make certain no bare wires are exposed outside the wire connectors.. All wiring must conform to National and Local Electrical Codes. 4. Follow the recommended instructions for the proper method of wiring your new receiver. If you feel you do not have enough electrical wiring knowledge or experience, have your receiver installed by a licensed electrician. Receiver () 0 TRANSMITTER STORAGE BRACKET. General Your Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control consists of a hand-held transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is designed to separately control your ceiling fan speed and light intensity. There are four push buttons (0,,, ) to set the fan speed and turn the fan OFF. The light ( ) push button turns the light ON and OFF and controls the light intensity. The blue indicator light will illuminate while any button is pressed, indicating that the battery is good. The transmitter is powered by one A/MN V alkaline battery (supplied). To prevent possible damage if the battery should leak, be sure to remove the battery when the control is not to be used for an extended period of time. Code switches in the transmitter and receiver may be set in 6 different positions. If your fan and light go ON and OFF without using your control, you may be getting interference from other remote units such as garage door openers, car alarms or security systems. To remedy this situation, change the combination code in your transmitter and receiver.. Preset Memory Feature + A 4 A/MN V BATTERY RECEIVER Your Emerson receiver is equipped with a preset memory feature. If the AC supply to the receiver is powered through a wall switch, when the switch is turned OFF, the control will remember the light intensity and fan speed. When the switch is turned back ON the light and fan will resume operation as they were prior to the switch being turned OFF. U.L. Model No: MR0F

Remove the battery compartment cover by pressing firmly below the arrow and sliding the cover off the transmitter (retain for future use).. Install one A/MN V alkaline battery (supplied). Setting Operating Frequency of Transmitter and Receiver (Figure ) Your transmitter and receiver have code switches which must be set in one of 6 possible code combinations. The four levers (numbered,,, and 4) on the switches are factory-set in the ON (up) position. Do NOT use this setting. Change the switch settings as follows:. Slide the four switch levers in the transmitter to your choice of ON (up) or OFF (down) positions. Use a ball-point pen or small screwdriver and slide the levers firmly up or down.. On the receiver, slide the four switch levers to the same positions as set on the transmitter. Make sure the levers on both the transmitter and receiver are in the same positions, otherwise the fan will not operate.. The additional switch on the transmitter marked ON and DIM is for dimming control of lights: Set switch to DIM to allow for dimming of the lights. Set switch to ON for full brightness of the lights such as for fluorescent bulbs. 4. Reinstall the battery compartment cover onto the transmitter. Operation (Figure ) IMPORTANT Fan installation must be completed, including the installation of the fan blades, before testing the transmitter. Your transmitter has full control of your fan and light. NOTE: If your fan has pull chains, prior to operation of the fan and light from the transmitter, set the fan speed to HIGH and turn the light ON.. To set the desired fan speed, press one of the four buttons (0,,, ) to operate your fan from OFF to HIGH speeds.. To turn the light ON, press and release the ( ) button.. To vary the intensity of the light, hold the ( ) button down until the desired light intensity is reached, then release the button. Note: When turning the light on, light will turn on at the light intensity previously selected. 7. Installation of Storage Bracket (Figure 4) A storage bracket is provided for holding your transmitter when not in use. If you desire to use the storage bracket, install it on a wall that is away from excess heat or humidity. Use the two screws provided with storage bracket. WARNING To avoid possible electrical shock, be sure electricity is turned off at the main fuse or circuit breaker box before installing the receiver. Note: Make all wiring connections using only listed wire connectors (supplied). Make sure all connections are tight, including ground, and no bare wire is visible at the wire connectors, except for the supply circuit ground wire.. After electricity has been turned off at main fuse box or circuit breaker box, remove the ceiling cover from the hanger bracket.. Disconnect the supply wiring to the fan by removing wire connectors. Note: Do not disconnect the BARE/GREEN GROUND wires.. Connect the supply BLACK wire to the receiver RED wire (AC IN L). 4. Connect the supply WHITE wire to the receiver WHITE wire (AC IN N). 5. Connect the receiver WHITE wire (TO MOTOR N) to the fan WHITE wire. 6. Connect the receiver BLACK wire (TO MOTOR L) to the fan BLACK wire. 7. Connect the receiver BLUE wire (FOR LIGHT) to the fan BLUE wire and fan YELLOW wire (if present). Note: This wiring configuration will control the up light and down light together. A maximum of 00W total lighting can be used with this receiver. Exceeding this wattage will damage the receiver and void the warranty. CAUTION: If no light exists on your ceiling fan, cap the BLUE wire on the receiver with a wire connector. 8. Push the connected wires up into the junction box and position the receiver in the hanger bracket above the hanger ball. Lay the antenna wire on top of the receiver. 9. Reinstall the ceiling cover and restore electrical power to the circuit. 9. Troubleshooting Fan/Light Fails to Operate Check that the speed switch on the fan is set to HIGH speed. Check that the light switch is ON. Check that the battery is good (power indicator light should illuminate when any button is pressed). Check that the receiver is wired properly. Check that code switches in the transmitter and receiver are set in the same position. Short Range If the transmitter operates the fan when close to it, but does not operate it at a distance of 40 feet, try placing the antenna wire outside of the ceiling cover. 0. Downloading the Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control App. Using your device go to the Apple App Store or Google Play TM Store.. Search for Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control.. Install the free App on your device (Figure 6). The App requires the following Operating System (OS) software to download: AndroidTM Version 6.0 or Later ios version 0.0 or Later Note: In the Apple App Store, the Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control App will ONLY appear on an iphone only search. On an ipad, this will have to be changed in the App Store. Figure 6. Connecting to Your Fan. Ensure power has been restored to your fan after installing the receiver and Bluetooth is enabled on your device. If Bluetooth is not enabled you may be prompted to do so when you launch the App. If necessary, consult your device s owner s manual on how to enable Bluetooth.. Launch the Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control App from your device.. A list of available fans will be displayed. By default, newly installed fans will be named CeilingFan (Figure 7). You will have the opportunity to rename the fan during configuration. 4. Select the newly installed fan CeilingFan. You will be prompted to enter a pin (Figure 8). 5. Enter 000000 and press Sign in to pair your device with the Bluetooth receiver. 6. Once paired with your device, you will see a message stating your fan is connected and you will be prompted to begin configuration. . Configuring Your Fan. If you have installed an Emerson Fan select Yes. You will be prompted with a list of preconfigured compatible fans to choose from. If you have installed a non-emerson Fan select No and the app will walk you through the manual configuration of your fan (Figure 9). Note: If you have installed an Emerson Fan but cannot locate it in the available list, the fan is either an Eco model and not compatible with this control or it is a newly released fan and an update to the App has not been released to add the model. In the case of a newly released fan, answering No will be necessary so you can manually setup your fan.. Once you have made your selection, you will be prompted to name your fan. Enter the desired name and select Confirm (Figure 0).. After confirming the name, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the configuration of your fan. Figure 9 Confirm Yes Figure 0. Renaming Your Fan. To rename your fan, press the Edit Name button in the upper right hand corner of the fan control screen (Figure ).. You will be prompted to name your fan. To reconfigure your fan, press the Reconfigure fan setup button in the bottom left hand corner of the fan control screen (Figure ).. You will be prompted to configure your fan as you did during initial configuration.. Follow the on screen prompts to complete the reconfiguration of your fan. Figure 6 U.L. Model No: MR0F

5. Operating Your Fan. To operate your fan, launch the Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control App from your device and select the desired fan from the list of available fans.. After selecting the fan you will see the fan control screen (Figure ). Note: Some options may not be available depending on your fan and the selections you made during configuration.. Use the Fan Power button to turn the fan ON and OFF. 4. Use the slider under Fan Power to control the speed of your fan. 5. Use the Fan Direction button (if available) to change the rotation direction of your fan. 6. Use the Light Power button to turn the light ON and OFF. 7. Use the slider under Light Power to control the brightness of the lights if dimming is enabled. 8. Use the slider under Auto-Off Timer to set the number of hours and minutes until your fan and lights turn off. 6. Adding Additional Fans. If additional Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Controls have been purchased and installed, they can be added to the App as well (Figure 4).. Follow the instructions in the CONNECTING TO YOUR FAN and CONFIGURING YOUR FAN sections to add each additional fan. Note: You will only be able to control one fan at a time. Also, if an additional user is connected to a fan, it will not be displayed on your list of available fans until the additional user disconnects from that fan. We will ship the repaired product or replacement to you at no charge, but you are responsible for all costs or removal, reinstallation and shipping of the product to Emerson. How Can You Get Service: YOU MUST HAVE PROOF OF YOUR PURCHASE OF THE EMERSON BLUETOOTH CEILING FAN CONTROL TO OBTAIN LIMITED WARRANTY SERVICE. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT OR OTHER PROOF OF PURCHASE. You can return the product to our factory or to your nearest authorized service center. To return the product to the factory, obtain a return authorization and service identification tag by writing to Air Comfort Products, Division of Emerson Company, 800 W. To return the product to an authorized service center, call -800-654-545 for the address of the nearest authorized service center. You will be responsible for all insurance, freight or other transportation charges to our factory or authorized service center. Your Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control should be properly packed to avoid damage in transit since we will not be responsible for any such damage. What Is Not Covered: This warranty also does not cover any defects, malfunctions or failures caused by: Repairs by persons not authorized by Emerson Company, Use of parts or accessories not authorized by Emerson Company, Mishandling, improper installation, modifications or damage to your Emerson Bluetooth Ceiling Fan Control while in your possession, or Unreasonable use, misuse, abuse, including failing to do reasonable and necessary maintenance, and normal wear and tear. Additionally, this warranty and any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are voided when: The original purchaser or user ceases to own the product, or The ceiling fan is moved from its original point of installation. This warranty is only valid within the 50 states of the United States and the District of Columbia. No other written or oral warranties apply, and no employee, agent, dealer or other person is authorized to give any warranties on behalf of Emerson Company.
