CHOOSE at least 2 OPTIONS Introduction The Self-Service Password Reset service will allow you to reset your password or unlock your account online, from anywhere, on any device, 24/7. No VPN or call to the Helpdesk is required. All you need to do is register online to get started. You can also use this service to change your password if you wish. This user guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to complete the self-service registration process, unlock your account, and reset or change your password. IMPORTANT: Before you begin To begin using the Self-Service Password service, you will need to complete the registration process. During the registration, you will need to CHOOSE a minimum of 2 from the 3 options that will be used to verify your identity. Please review the requirements for each option: Option 1: Office Phone The phone number for this option is automatically pulled from Workday and will show the number you have saved as your primary work phone number. If you choose to use this as one of your options, you may need to update your primary work phone number in Workday. The phone number you choose must be a direct number where you can be reached. It cannot be a shared line or the branch number. If you need to update your primary work phone number in Workday, please note that it can take up to 2 hours for changes to update to the system. Option 2: Authentication Number How to Update Your Primary Phone Number in Workday We recommend you use your mobile phone as your Authentication Number. This can be your Finning or personal mobile phone. The authentication number can be a landline but cannot be the same phone number used for option 1. To validate your identity, the system will CALL or TEXT the phone number provided. You will need to be near the phone and MUST be in a CELLULAR COVERAGE AREA to complete the process. The phone number will not be published, and is only used to verify your identity. Option 3: Security Questions You will be required to select 5 security questions. Be sure to choose questions you will remember the answers to and that others would not easily guess. How to Register for Self-Service Password Reset 3
How to Register for Self-Service Password Reset 1. Go to passwords.finning.com and click REGISTER NOW 2. Log in using your usual Finning email address and password 4
3. Choose at least 2 of the 3 options to verify your identity. Option 1: Office Phone If you see a check mark next to Office Phone, verify that the phone number is a direct phone number that you can be reached. If it shows your Branch number or is a shared phone, you will need to update your primary work phone in Workday to a direct number OR set up the other 2 options that will be used to verify your identity. If the phone number is incorrect or not configured, you can update your primary work phone number in Workday to a direct phone number. How to Update Your Primary Phone Number in Workday Option 2: Authentication Phone You will need to be physically near this phone and if using a cellphone you MUST BE IN A CELLULAR COVERAGE AREA to receive the verification text or call. a. Click Set it up now or verify (you will have the option to change the number in next step) 5
b. If needed, enter or update the phone number including area code. c. Click text me or call me (skip to 2f.) d. If you choose text me, you will receive a verification code by text message. e. Enter code and click verify f. If you choose call me, the system will call the phone number provided. IMPORTANT: You will need to answer the call and press # to complete the verification. 6
Option 3: Security Questions a. Click Set them up now b. Click on the Drop-down to select FIVE security questions Answers must be at least 3 characters long. When complete, green check marks will appear next to each question. c. Click Save answers to proceed. 7
4. Completing Verification When the verification process is completed, you should see check marks next to at least 2 options. Click finish to complete the registration. Congratulations you have sucessfully registered for Self Service Password Reset service. IMPORTANT: If you are unable to complete two of the three options above, you will not be able to use the Self Service Password Reset service. You can still have your password reset by calling the the Help Desk on 1-888-669-9699 8
How to Reset your Password or Unlock your Account Once you have registered for the Self-Service Password Reset service, you will now be able to reset your password if you have forgotten your password or unlock your account if are having trouble accessing your account. If you just want to change your password, see 5. If you chose I know my password but still can t sign in You should see this notification Your account should be accessible using your existing password. No further action is required. If you continue to have problems accessing your Finning account after resetting your password, please contact the Help Desk on 1-888-669-9699 9
How to Change your Password below. 1. Go to passwords.finning.com and click RESET YOUR PASSWORD 2. Enter your Finning email address (firstname.lastname@finning.com) and the characters in the picture, then click Next If you are having trouble reading the characters, you can click the Refresh arrows for new letters, or the Speaker icon to listen to words instead. 10
3. Choose Reset Password or Unlock Account Choose I forgot my password or I know my password but still can t sign in 4. Verification Steps You will be asked to complete one or more verification steps to confirm your identity. For each verification step, choose one of the Contact Methods presented. IMPORTANT: You must be in a cellular coverage area to use the mobile phone options. If you choose: Text my mobile phone 11
a. Enter your mobile phone number b. you will receive a verification code by text message. c. Enter code and click verify If you choose: Call my mobile phone 12
a. Enter your mobile phone number b. When the phone rings, answer the call. c. After a greeting, press # on the telephone keypad d. The call will terminate and the step is complete If you choose: Call my office phone. a. Enter the Office Phone number. b. When the phone rings, answer the call. c. After a greeting, press # on the telephone keypad d. The call will terminate and the step is complete If you choose: Answer my security questions a. Enter your answers to each question. Answers are not case sensitive. b. Click Next 13
4. If you chose I forgot my password a. Choose a new password that meets the password complexity requirements See Finning Password Policy for requirements b. Make sure your passwords are typed correctly in both boxes. c. The new password will be rejected if i. It does not meet the complexity requirements ii. If your old password is less than 24 hours old. d. Click Finish 5. If you chose I know my password but still can t sign in You should see this notification Your account should be accessible using your existing password. No further action is required. How to Change your Password Use this guide if you know your current password and only need to change it. If you have forgotten your password, or are having trouble getting into your account, use the How to Reset your Password or Unlock your Account Guide. 1. Depending on your device, connection and location, you may be required to complete one or more verifcation steps to confirm your identity OR you will be prompted to choose a new password (skip to step 4). 3. It is important that Workday has the right Primary Work Phone number, as this feeds the Password Reset system for verification. Click Submit to apply your changes Congratulations you have now updated your Workday information. You may now return to the Self Service Password Reset Registration process. Please note that your updated telephone number may take up to two hours to update the Password Reset system.
