3 LG Simple Editor LG Simple Editor is a solution that enables you to create and distribute content easily and quickly by using templates. With LG Simple Editor, you can create new content by choosing templates provided with it or import and edit the presaved content. You can create a playlist by adding the saved content and then send the playlist to your TV via a USB or network distribution. System Requirements Item CPU (Central Processing Unit) Memory Network Operating System Browser Specification 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor or above 4 GB or higher HDD with free space of at least 40 GB 100 Mbps or higher Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit) Windows 8.1(32 bit, 64 bit) Chrome 31 or later

4 Install and Delete LG Simple Editor Installation Double-click the LGSimpleEditor_setup.exe file. 1 Select the installation language. 2 Read the instructions, and then click the Next button to continue.

5 3 In the License Agreement window, click I Agree. 4 Select the directory in which you want to install the program, and click Install. The program will be installed automatically.

6 5 When the installation is complete, click Finish. The service will start automatically. Note After the installation is complete, the LG Simple Editor service to run Tomcat 7.0 is registered and launched automatically. Caution LG Simple Editor uses a port 8080. When another program uses a port 8080, LG Simple Editor is not launched. Deletion To delete LG Simple Editor from your computer, click Start> All Programs > LG Simple Editor > Uninstall LG Simple Editor. Caution To remove the existing LG Simple Editor, use the uninstaller provided by LG Simple Editor. You may not be able to remove LG Simple Editor properly while your web browser is running. Close all Chrome browser windows before deleting LG Simple Editor.

7 Running LG Simple Editor To run LG Simple Editor, click Start > All Programs > LG Simple Editor or click the LG Simple Editor icon on your desktop. Note To end LG Simple Editor, click at the top right corner of the browser window. Home Select Create content or Create and distribute playlist as the home screen of the LG Simple Editor. 3 4 1 2 No. Description Description 1 Create content Move to the Choose a template page for creating contents 2 Create and Distribute Playlist Move to the Create and distribute playlist page 3 Player Check the status of the registered player (device) and change settings. 4 Settings Check the system information and change the settings.

8 Login 1 Enter your password and click Login button. The preset password for the initial access is 000000. Change Password 1 Click Change password on the login screen. 2 Enter a new password and click OK. Note The password must be changed after the initial access. The password must be 8-20 characters long and a combination of the English alphabets, numeric characters, and special characters. Entering an incorrect password 5 times disables access for 3 minutes. Forgot Password 1 If you have forgotten your password, run LG Simple Editor Util program in the directory where LG Simple Editor is installed. 2 Click the reset password button to reset the password to the initial password. Logout 1 Click on the upper right corner of the program screen. Navigate to the Login screen.

9 Create content You can create new content or import and edit the pre-saved content. Choose a Template Select a template for creating content. You can select from 143 templates provided with LG Simple Editor or templates you have stored. (143 horizontal templates) 1 2 3 4 6 5 No. Description 1 By clicking this, you move to the screen prior to the Choose a Template screen. 2 By clicking this, you move to the Home screen. 3 This shows the categories of the templates provided with LG Simple Editor. 4 This shows the available templates under the template category you selected. 5 When you click Open, the content you have stored appears. 6 When you click Next, you move to the Edit screen for the selected template.

10 Create Content You can create content by editing the template you selected. 1 2 4 5 8 6 9 11 7 3 10 12 No. Description 1 By clicking this, you move to the screen prior to the Create a Content screen. If there is a change that has not been saved, you will be asked whether to save it or not. 2 By clicking this, you move to the Home screen. 11 Text Area Add a Text 1 Click the Add a text icon on the Create content page. 2 Move your mouse pointer over the edit area, and then you will see the mouse pointer has changed ( ). 3 Click your mouse on your desired position. 4 If the position does not overlap with other areas, except for the image area, the text area is added. Note Text can only overlap with an image area. Up to 20 text areas are supported. Edit Text 1 Click the text in the edit area. 2 When a pop-up for editing test appears, you can edit the text. 1 3 4 2 5 No. Description 1 You can change the style of the text. (Underline, italic, color, and size.) 2 You can align the text. (Left-, center-, and right-alignment.) 3 You can set the orientation in which the text will flow. 4 You can set the speed at which the text will flow. 5 You can set priority between a sticker and text. Note You can apply a text flow to only a single text area in the content. You can only use the LG Display font for your text. Depending on the TV specifications, the supported text style can be different. Move Text 1 Move your mouse pointer over a text area. 2 Click the Move icon at the upper right corner of the area and then drag and drop the text area in the Edit screen. 3 If the position does not overlap with other areas, except for the image area, the text area is moved.

12 Delete Text 1 Move your mouse pointer over a text area. 2 Click the Delete icon at the upper right corner of the area. Image area Add an Image 1 Move your mouse pointer over the image area and click the area. 2 Select your desired image in Windows Explorer and click the Open button. 3 If uploading the image is complete normally, you can see the added image in the image area. Note Only jpg, jpeg, png, and bmp image files are supported. Up to 1920 x 1080 resolutions are supported for images. Images should not be larger than 4G. Cut an Image 1 Move your mouse pointer over an image area. 2 Click the Cut icon at the upper right corner of the area. 3 Over the image appears the icon and depending on the direction in which the image can be cropped, determined by the area and image sizes. 4 Drag and drop the image in the directions shown, and the image will be cropped. Note If the size of the image is not fit for cropping, the icon appears, and you cannot edit the image. Delete an Image 1 Move your mouse pointer over an image area. 2 Click the Delete icon at the upper right corner of the area.

13 TV/Video Area Add a Video 1 Move your mouse pointer over the TV/video area and click the area. 2 Select your desired video in Windows Explorer and click the Open button. 3 If uploading the video is complete normally, you can see a thumbnail image of the added video in the TV/video area. Note Only avi, mp4, mkv, ts, tp, mpg, and mpeg video files are supported. Up to 1920 x 1080 resolutions are supported for videos. Images should not be larger than 4G. Delete a Video 1 Move your mouse pointer over a TV/video area. 2 Click the Delete icon at the upper right corner of the area. Sticker Area Add a Sticker 1 You can add a sticker by clicking the Add a sticker icon on the Create content page. 100 stickers are provided. Move a Sticker 1 Move your mouse pointer over the sticker area. 2 Click the Move icon at the upper right corner of the area and then drag and drop the sticker area in the Edit screen. Note A sticker cannot be placed on the text to which a flow effect is applied. Delete a Sticker 1 Move your mouse pointer over the sticker area. 2 Click the Delete icon at the upper right corner of the area.

14 Background Area Edit Background You can edit the background of your template by clicking the Edit background icon on the Create content page. 1 2 3 4 No. Description 1 When you clicking the area, a pop-up where you can select a color for the background appears. 2 This shows the background image of the current template. 3 This shows background images that you can edit. When you click the image, the image is immediately applied to the edit area. 4 When you clicking the area, the Edit background pop-up closes.

15 Change Background Color You can select the color of the background to edit the background. When you click the Details button, a pop-up where you can choose from a variety of colors appears. Note Templates without a background are not provided the Edit background feature.

16 Preview When you click the Preview button at the top of the page, you can preview the content in the edit area as if it were displayed on the actual TV. When you preview a video, the video is displayed as an image.

17 Create and Distribute Playlist With this feature, you can create a playlist and send it to your TV via a USB or network distribution. 1 2 4 5 6 7 3 8 9 10 No. Description 1 By clicking this, you move to the screen prior to the Edit playlist screen. If there is a change that has not been saved, you will be asked whether to save it or not. 2 By clicking this, you move to the Home screen. If there is a change that has not been saved, you will be asked whether to save it or not. 3 Menu selection (see page 23 for details.) 4 This displays the title of the current playlist. If you are creating a playlist, the text Untitled is displayed. 5 You can preview the created playlist. 6 You can view the playing time and playback position of the content you selected. The total playing time is displayed on the right side. 7 You can add the pre-saved content to the playlist. 8 You can select the Export to USB feature. (See page 23 for details.) 9 You can select the Network distribution feature. (See page 23 for details.) 10 You can view the status of the distributed playlist. (See page 23 for details.)

18 Create a Playlist You can create a playlist by importing the content that you edited and then saved on the Create content screen. Add Content You can import the pre-saved content to create a playlist. The default playing time of the added content is 60 seconds. After adding the content to the playlist, you can change its playing time in hours, minutes and seconds. Caution The total playing time of the playlist is up to 24 hours or at least 10 seconds. The minimum playing time of each piece of content is also 10 seconds. Up to 50 pieces of content can be added to a playlist. Only content in the same direction can be added to a playlist.

19 Change the Playback Order When you select the content that is added in the playlist, the playing time and playback position of the content appear in the timeline. You can change the playback order of the playlist by dragging and dropping the content. Note The playing time may vary due to the loading time of the content on the TV. Delete Content You can delete the added content from the playlist by clicking the content. Delete icon at the top of the screen of the added Preview When you click Preview, you can preview the playlist you are currently working on. When you preview a video, the video is displayed as an image. You can move between each piece of content by using the arrow button at the bottom of the Preview screen. The review is not affected by the set playing time.

20 Network Distribution When you click Network distribution, you can distribute the playlist you are editing. Select a player and click the Distribution button to distribute the playlist. You need to save playlists in order to distribute them. Export to USB Clicking the icon exports the playlist you are working on to a USB device. If you click the Export button, the playlist is exported to the selected USB device. If you connect the USB device with a USB port on your TV, the playlist plays automatically. You can also export unsaved playlists that are being worked on to a USB device.

21 Distribution Status When you click Distribution status, you can view the distribution status of the playlists you selected to distribute. 1 2 No. Description 1 Delete the selected distribution list 2 Redistribute or cancel the distribution of the selected item Caution The playlists included at the time of registering for distribution are saved additionally. Regularly delete the playlists that you distributed to secure the storage space of the PC where the program is installed.

22 Player You can check the status of the player registered in LG Simple Editor and edit its names. 1 2 3 4 No. 1 Search device 2 Delete the selected player 3 Refresh the player list 4 Edit the player's name Description Note The player's name can be edited only when the player is powered on. The player's name should be up to 20 characters long and consist of the English alphabet, numeric characters, _ and. Search Device You can search and find a player. 1 Click the Search device button on the player screen. 2 Enter the range of the IP addresses you want to search. 3 Click the Search button.

23 Menu Options New You can create a new playlist. If you are already working on a playlist, you will be prompted to choose whether or not to save the current playlist before creating a new one. This feature is not provided in Create content. Open You can import the pre-saved content or playlist. Select the pre-saved content or playlist and then click Open to import it. Save You can save the content or a playlist you are currently working on. The content or playlist imported by using Open is saved with the same name as the content or playlist you are currently working on when you click Save. Save as You can save the content or a playlist you worked on with a new name. Click Save as to save the content or playlist you worked on with a new name. Deletion You can delete the pre-stored content or playlist. Select the pre-saved content or playlist and then click Delete to delete it. Note You cannot delete the content that is included in a playlist.

24 Settings You can change the settings of LG Simple Editor or view its information. You can view the version, release date and IP address of LG Simple Editor. When you click the Release Notes button, you can view the release notes of LG Simple Editor. You can change the language, date format, and time format.
