Connected Drone SOI Architecture 1. Images of a given inspection are ingested and stored through Azure Web App micro-services 2. Once ingested, there is a call to an Azure Function to trigger the Intelligent Functions 3. The Azure Function splits the images in Docker tasks allocated through Azure Batch Shipyard 4. The Azure Batch pools auto-scale depending on the number of tasks 5. Once processed the results are sent to Azure CosmosDB

Benefits of the architecture 1. Elastic Scale - the solution scales from 0 to 1000s cores in <15 minutes using the Azure Batch auto-scale formula 2. Performance with 1000 cores, including 60 GPU nodes and 500 CPU nodes the system can process 180k images/hour (human 50k/year) 3. Cost Effectiveness we only pay for the compute we are using 4. Containerization intelligent functions run isolated from each other 5. Extensibility - adding a new intelligent function in the system is plug-&-play
