User Responsibility The information contained in this Installation and Operation Guide pertains only to the BACnet Alarm. This product will perform to conformity as described in this guide when assembled, operated, maintained and serviced in accordance with the installation instructions provided. The BACnet Alarm MUST be checked periodically. Parts that are broken, missing, worn, distorted or contaminated must be replaced immediately. Introduction The BACnet interface system shall be an Amico Alert-1 series. The BACnet Interface Module provides a convenient method of interfacing Amico Master Alarm to building automation systems that utilizes BACnet technology. The BACnet interface complies with BACnet/IP as defined in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135-2004. It is composed of a 3rd party BACnet devices wired and configured to translate dry-contacts signal from Amico Master Alarm panel to a BACnet/IP format which can be access with any BACnet/IP server. The BACnet system can handle up to 30 master alarm points, each master circuit board needs a computer interface to communicate from the Master to BACnet device. The Contemporary Control web Link: https://www.ccontrols.com/basautomation/basremote.php Description of BACnet Alarm SHIPMENT DETAILS When you receive the BACnet alarm from Amico Corporation, the package will consist of two main sections; the BACnet Alarm Back Box and the Frame Assembly. The BACnet back box assembly will be pre-configured, with the appropriate modules, based upon the customer s specifications. THE BACNET ALARM BACK BOX The BACnet Alarm Back Box contains the auto-switchable System Power Supply with an ON/OFF switch, a built-in fuse and terminal block (115 VAC, or 220 VAC). This design will reduce installation time and eliminate the risk of improper installation since all the modules are connected and tested at the factory THE FRAME ASSEMBLY The Frame Assembly consists of the BACnet frame with screws to mount. www.amico.com 5

Description of Modules SYSTEM POWER SUPPLY AC Supply 115 to 220 VAC Fuse (1 AMPw) G N L L - Live N - Neutral G - Ground Ground Toggle Switch The System Power Supply has been pre-installed into the back box assembly. The System Power Supply converts the AC voltage supply to the alarm into DC voltages: 24 VDC (regulated) required by BACnet Device. This unit also contains the main ON/OFF power switch, the transformer, the heat sink, the main fuse and fuse holder. The System Power Supply can be easily removed and reinstalled by unscrewing it from the back box. DC Power Cable: Connect to Annunciator Module BASREMOTE MASTER DEVICE The BASremote Master provides the ultimate in flexibility. It can be used for expansion I/O at remote locations where an Ethernet connection exists. Its built-in router and gateway capabilities address unique integration needs where more than one communications protocol is involved. It can operate as BACnet/IP and Modbus TCP remote I/O, Sedona Framework controller, Modbus Serial to Modbus TCP router, Modbus Serial to BACnet gateway, and Modbus master to attach Modbus slaves all at the same time. A 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port allows connection to IP networks and popular building automation protocols such as Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, and Sedona SOX. Six universal I/O points can be configured through resident web pages using a standard web browser and without the need of a special programming tool, your IT department can easily interact with the BASremote Master. BASREMOTE EXPANSION DEVICE The BASremote Expansion devices can communicate with Master device, up to 3 Expansion devices can be connected with Master Device. Each device has up to six universal I/O points. It s an additional universal I/O can be achieved with the simple addition of BASremote Expansion modules. The BASremote PoE has the same capabilities as the BASremote Master except it is powered over the Ethernet connection thereby providing a "One Cable Solution". 6 Amico Corporation

Installation BACNET ALARM BOX Static Electricity, Discharge body static before opening/installing the device The Amico BACnet is shipped in one container holding two separate packages. One package contains the BACnet. The other package contains the window and the frame assembly. Install the BACnet back-box to the studs of the wall at the desired height. Ensure that the box is securely in place. The mounting brackets are adjustable to suit the thickness of the wall. MAKE SURE the box is squared and flush with the finished wall surface, to ensure that the frame assembly will fit properly. The recommended mounting is 66" (1676 mm) from the top of the BACnet box to the finished floor. NOTE: The Power Supply, BASremote Master and BASremote Expansion devices are pre-tested and mounted inside the BACnet alarm box. www.amico.com 7

Wiring SYSTEM POWER SUPPLY TURN OFF THE POWER SWITCH BEFORE CHANGING ANY MODULES AND/OR DISCONNECTING ANY CABLES, OR ELSE THE FUSE WILL BLOW TO PROTECT THE CIRCUITRY. 1. Ensure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position. 2. Through the top left side of the back box, bring in the AC power wires. Knockouts are provided for making conduit connections to the box. All wiring is to be installed according to local and national codes. 3. Connect the AC power to the terminal blocks as shown in the wiring diagram in Appendix A and as specified in the technical specification. 4. To protect from static electricity, ensure to discharge body static before installing the BACnet Device and connecting Source Equipment signal wires BASREMOTE MASTER/EXPANSION DEVICE Low Voltages Wires: 1. Pull the dry-contact signal wires from computer interface module into the BASremote Master/Expansion device s terminals. Make the connections to the terminal blocks located on the side of the module as labeled. The wiring is fail-safe normally closed (NC) connections from the source equipment. The signal level is 5 VDC. 2. Make the appropriate wiring connections as per Appendix D & E. 3. These devices should be connected with a #22 gauge standard wires from sources or Master alarm Computer interface module. Make sure the polarity (+ & -) on each channel. CAT-5 Cable: The 2 CAT-5 cables can be connected from each BASremote Master Device to a PC, laptop, or server to monitor by BMS or any similar system. Please refer to wiring Appendix F. Note: To turn ON power and make sure all LEDs are devices are powered up and flashed. Status: During boot-up, this LED flashes green. Once all files are loaded, it glows solid green to indicate the unit is operational. Ethernet: This LED glows if a valid link exists to an operating Ethernet device. It indicates speed by colour green for 100 Mbps and yellow for 10 Mbps. I/O: Each of these LEDs glows green when the associated I/O point is in alarm condition (ON) and normal condition LED will be clear (OFF). 8 Amico Corporation

Configuration SYSTEM CONFIGURATION Before the BACnet connects to BMS server system. It is recommended to test with laptop or PC to make sure all contacts work. To test this BACnet device, Java software should be installed before it disconnects from Internet. Download the Java program base on your operating system for initial setup (www.java.com recommends Windows 10). Once the Java program is downloaded, make sure to disconnect internet connection. NOTE: The PC should be temporarily disconnected from the Ethernet/LAN in case the master s default address matches that of a device on the existing LAN. The procedure for altering the IP address creates a temporary LAN composed of nothing but the master, the PC used to configure it with a CAT5 cable connecting the two. To Change IP & Subnet Addresses: Control Panel > Network and Sharing System > Ethernet / LAN > Properties > Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) > Select Use the following IP address > IP address: 192.168.92.100 and Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 1 2 3 4 www.amico.com 9

Configuration To Ping BASremote Master Devices from Laptop/PC: After Network Setup is completed, connect both BASremote Master devices one by one into laptop/pc to make sure communication between laptop/pc and BACnet from Command Prompt. CAT-5 Cable Laptop BASremote Master Device Go to Search Bar > type CMD > select Command Prompt > type PING 192.168.92.68 > Enter. 2 3 4 1 When Ping is replied from IP Address, make sure the Ping statistics shows at the Command Prompt. 10 Amico Corporation

Configuration WEB CONFIGURATION BASREMOTE Open the Internet Browser and type in http://192.168.92.68 (Default BASremote Master Device IP address) on the address bar and hit Enter. Authentication: If prompted for a user ID and password when accessing the BASremote webpage, type in: User name: admin & Password: admin Java System Software will popup automatically and ask to login, type in: User name: admin & Password: admin A security warning window will pop up, please click on I accept the risk and want to run this application and click Run (It is recommended to get an approval with your IT administrator). 1 2 www.amico.com 11

Configuration CONFIGURE SETTINGS BASremote Web Configuration page will be appear with Remote Configuration and Current Settings. As current settings, the dry-contact channel LED bar will display the present value in green LED (On/Off) Individual Channel Settings Configure Settings Channel 1-6 LED Status Channel Names 1-6 If you need to make any changes on System Name, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway Address, Expansion Units, Device Instance, etc., you have to click on Configure Settings and save it for UPDATE. If any changes are made, make sure to reset BACnet power (turn-off) and close all BASremote Configuration Web pages from Laptop/PC; otherwise the memory won t reset. When you restart the system, all changes or modification will register into the BACnet memory and save all info. 12 Amico Corporation

Configuration RESET IP ADDRESS ON BASREMOTE MASTER DEVICE To reset the Master module to its default values of the IP address (192.168.92.68), Gateway address (192.168.92.1) and Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), use a paperclip or similar tool to press the reset switch while the unit is repowered and until the reboot is complete. Once the Status LED stops flashing, release the reset switch. The unit will now use the default values. Reset IP www.amico.com 13

Configuration If there is any fault signal on BACnet device, it will automatically send an email or text message to Admin. You can create your own email address or Text message. Creating or Changing Username & Password For security reason, you can create your own Username & Password. When the setup is completed, the BASremote Master Devices can connect directly to BMS or to any similar server systems. It is recommended that an IT qualified technician should handle future setup or modification.
