The following Mercury hardware products are available separately or as part of a pre-configured security control panel assembly housed in a secure enclosure: CKM-EP2500, CKM-EP1501, and CKM-EP1502 intelligent controllers CKM-MR51e, CKM-MR50, and CKM-MR52 reader interface modules CKM-MR16in input modules CKM-MR16out output modules DM-21 intrusion display CKM-MUX-8 multiplexer For an illustration on the P2000 and Mercury integration architecture, see Figure 1 on page 2. Using this mix of robust and feature-rich security products, you can find the solution that best fits your access control needs, such as IP and Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities, system scalability up to 64 doors, and support for installations that use RS-485 communications. The P2000 and Mercury access control products open platform solution offers multiple configuration options for small-to-large security applications, whether you are installing a new security system or retrofitting an existing one. Table 1: Features and Benefits Features Benefits P2000 Host Software Integration IP Compatibility Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Support of Multiple Reader Technologies Alarm Input Module Relay Output Module Security Panel Assemblies Elevator Integration Support Intrusion Integration Support Data Expansion Provides a single, intuitive central software interface to configure and operate the controllers within the P2000 SMS. Provides ease of installation, added flexibility, and potential cost savings in an existing IT infrastructure. IP-compatible controllers are auto-addressable with the use of an external Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) enabled server, or they can be manually configured using static IP addresses. Enables a single Ethernet cable to provide both power and communications to Mercury devices. Such as Wiegand, clock and data, magnetic stripe, keypads, LCD, and biometrics, adding flexibility for systems that require a wide array of reader options. Allows the system to monitor high concentrations of supervised or unsupervised inputs together with a low requirement for output control. The CKM-MR16in can support 16 general purpose input circuits. Provides the ability to control high concentrations of outputs (16 general purpose) as Form C relay contacts, which can be used to control a variety of outboard devices for general facility control such as lighting, heating and cooling, door, and elevator control. Make it easy to power, house, and store the Mercury components in a secure enclosure and in a variety of configurations. Allows P2000 to support up to 128 floors in a low-level interface with Mercury inputs and outputs used for floor selection and tracking. All elevator-related components are associated with a single Mercury controller. Enables sites to use Mercury components for an intrusion detection system within the P2000 SMS. Adds flexibility to expand a single data line into multiple data lines to meet difficult system design and installation challenges. 1

Access Platform CKM-EP2500 Controller The Access Platform CKM-EP2500 is an intelligent controller platform with native network support. This powerful and high-performance platform provides an Ethernet ready controller capable of efficiently managing a large network of Mercury access modules in multiple system designs. Based on the intelligent, next-generation Mercury Access Foundation, the CKM-EP2500 uses an Ethernet link to connect to the Microsoft Windows based P2000 host to provide access control, alarm management, and scheduled operations all in one package. The CKM-EP2500 is capable of elaborate processes and procedures without host intervention. Once configured, the CKM-EP2500 functions independently of the host, and is capable of controlling access, managing alarms, interfacing with an array of Mercury hardware devices, all while providing the decision-making oversight that each system configuration requires. CKM-EP2500 supports the range of reader technologies, including Wiegand, magnetic stripe, and biometric RS-485 connectivity. Figure 2: CKM-EP2500 Intelligent Controller Application Notes As an intelligent system cornerstone, the CKM-EP2500 provides the greatest system capacity within Mercury s family of controller platforms. The Access Platform CKM-EP2500 is best deployed in systems where highend capabilities and network-ready capacity are required. For high device counts, large numbers of readers, and a high volume of system activity, the CKM-EP2500 is the controller of choice. Benefits Network ready System intelligence decentralized Intelligent oversight and auxiliary monitoring Scalable to 64 doors Note: The CKM-EP2500 does not support shared mode and central mode communications with the P2000 host. Access Platform CKM-MR51e IP Reader Interface Module The Access Platform CKM-MR51e is a networkconnected, single-door, power-over-ethernet (POE) capable interface module that provides an ideal integration solution with the P2000 SMS. Two reader ports support separate in/out readers of all types and technologies, including Wiegand, clock and data, magnetic stripe, keypads, LCD, and biometrics. Auto-addressable and directly managed by the CKM-EP2500, CKM-EP1501, and CKM-EP1502 Mercury intelligent controllers, the CKM-MR51e is capable of elaborate processes and procedures without host intervention. Application Notes Built on the Access Platform, the CKM-MR51e relates the activities of selected system devices to other devices within the system, generating actions and allowing activities to transpire independent of the host. The CKM-MR51e s support of paired readers enhances the ability to meet installation challenges, such as placing readers at varying heights or distances to accommodate ingress and egress of handicapped, vehicle, or foot traffic. These readers can be logically linked together, yet function independently when access identification is presented to either one. When access rights are granted, the same relay functions, as programmed, to unlock the opening. Benefits Flexible, versatile support of paired readers Network ready Easily installed Support of a wide range of reader technologies Features Multi-facility code support Multi-reader technology support PoE enabled Auto-addressable TLS encryption support HSPD 12 and FIPS 201 compliant Figure 8: CKM-MR51e Reader Interface Module UL 294 recognized Technical s The interface is for use in low-voltage, Class 2 circuits only. Each CKM-MR50 supports one card reader, two general purpose input monitor points, and two control relays to provide access control and security monitoring through a Mercury EP intelligent controller. The CKM-MR50 s reader port supports magnetic stripe, Wiegand, and RS-485 readers, including keypads and integrated keypad readers. Hardware interface and card format settings are loaded through software commands. With its compact footprint and RS-485 connectivity, the CKM-MR50 can be clustered (multiple devices in an enclosure) or distributed (standalone) to best suit the installation environment. The inputs and the relays may be assigned to doorrelated functions or to general purpose I/O. The inputs support normally open, normally closed, supervised, and non-supervised circuits. End-of-line (EOL) resistance values are configurable. The relays can be configured for fail safe or fail secure operation. Application Notes The CKM-MR50 is a versatile, reliable interface module for a single door. When connected to a Mercury EP intelligent controller, the CKM-MR50 passes access request and status change information to the intelligent controller for processing.
