1 Introduction PrintShop Mail Web is a modern and versatile software package which integrates workflow processes and introduces a whole new way of thinking about your customers and their print jobs! Multiple users can print from their locally installed PrintShop Mail Design ( PSM Design ) to a remote PSM Web server, using the printers installed on that server. Using PSM Web as a print server replaces the Multi-user license in previous versions of PrintShop Mail. 1

2 Quickstart 2.1 Installation and configuration 1. Insert the PrintShop Mail Suite CD and double click the Setup.exe file to start the installation. Follow the instructions on screen. The Setup.exe file installs the required components and launches the various services. Besides this, a default PostScript printer is created. 2. Open your web browser and navigate to the PrintShop Mail Web web site or double click the PSM Web shortcut that is located on your desktop. Launch your web browser and navigate to your PrintShop Mail Web web site. The Login page appears. For both the login and password use administrator (default account) to enter the system. The first time you login the First Run wizard appears. This wizard configures your PrintShop Mail Web database and web site. Follow the instructions on screen to complete this procedure. 3. It is recommanded you change the Administrator default password immediatly after you are finished with the initial setup. For detailed installation and configuration instructions please refer to the Installation Guide. 2

Select the default company and create a new publication or Print to Web to print directly from PrintShop Mail through PrintShop Mail Web. Make sure the desired printer is installed on the PSM Web server. For details on preparing and publishing your document please refer to the PrintShop Mail User Guide or the PrintShop Mail Web Desginer Guide. Note: Make sure you do the initial setup of PSM Web server as described in section 2.1. For more information, consult the PrintShop Mail Web Administrator Guide on the Objectif Lune web site's Resource Center. 3

Once you reviewed the softproof, you are ready to order the document. Enter your details and follow the instructions to place your order. For detailed information on creating and ordering documents, refer to the PrintShop Mail Web User Guide and PrintShop Mail Web Administrator Guide. 4

3 System Requirements PrintShop Mail Web is a server software and is delivered as an executable installer with predefined configuration settings. We strongly recommend to install the software on a clean installed Windows computer. 5

PrintShop Mail Web comes with several guides that can help you get started: Installation Guide: The instructions in this document describe how to install, set up, and initialize PrintShop Mail Web. Administrator Guide: This guide provides detailed information on how to manage companies, users and template documents in PrintShop Mail Web. User Guide: This guide provides detailed information on how to order documents and track your orders. 5 About the hardware key Without a hardware key, PrintShop Mail Web runs in demo mode. In this mode, all PrintShop Mail Web functions are available, but you can only output 2 records and a "PrintShop Mail" banner is printed over each layout. In addition the system does not accept connections from remote clients via the internet. To print through PrintShop Mail Web from PSM Design or directly from PrintShop Mail Web, the USB Hardware key must be activated for PrintShop Mail Web (Web Enabled). When using PSM Web as a print server, it is normal that PSM Design shows 25 credits remaining under Help Credit Information and starts in Designer Mode, since all your printing will be done through PSM Web. How to install the hardware key Attach the hardware key to the USB port on the computer that will be running PrintShop Mail Web. The following picture shows the hardware key (USB) for PrintShop Mail (though your key may differ slightly in appearance): The PSM dongle Registration and Activation If you are new PrinShop Mail Suite user or upgrading your existing license, you will need to activate your Hardware Key using the Voucher provided in your product package or by email.
