Installation Notes You will notice a folder for each of the individual plug-ins or plug-in companies. Run the plug-in installers located within these folders. Eventide H949 Plug-In Eventide H949 Installer Does Not Overwrite the Previous Version of H949 (Item #54168) The Eventide H949 Promo v1.2 installer will not remove or overwrite previous versions of H949. Remove any previous versions of Eventide H949 manually before running the new installer. Manually remove the plug-in from Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. Digidesign Smack! Plug-In Use the Smack! (For TDM Systems) Installer In the Smack! installer, you will be presented with two installation options: Smack! (For TDM Systems) Smack! LE The Smack! (For TDM Systems) installer actually includes the Smack! LE installer. For MassivePack 3, you only need to choose the Smack! (For TDM Systems) option and it will install all Smack versions (TDM, RTAS, and AudioSuite). MassivePack 3 includes two ilok licences for Smack! Licence for TDM version of Smack! from the Smack! (For TDM Systems) installer Licence for RTAS and AudioSuite versions of Smack! from the Smack! LE installer As you are authorizing your MassivePack 3 plug-ins, be sure to authorize both Smack! and Smack! LE. Authorization Notes The majority of the MassivePack plug-ins are authorized using the ilok USB Smart Key. The exception is the Sony Oxford EQ which is authorized using a serial number provided on a postcard included in the MassivePack v3. Authorizing the Sony Oxford EQ Sony Oxford EQ is authorized using a serial number provided on a postcard included in the MassivePack 3 bundle. Please follow the instructions provided on the postcard to authorize the plug-in. Authorizing MassivePack 3 Plug-Ins with ilok USB Smart Key and License Cards The MassivePack plug-ins are authorized using the ilok USB Smart Key and License Card from PACE Anti Piracy. Be sure to install the plug-ins before attempting to authorize. There are two MassivePack License Cards (License Card #1 and License Card #2). When launching Pro Tools, the MassivePack plug-ins will load in order in which they will ask for the authorizations from License Card #1 first, then License Card #2. To authorize the MassivePack 3 plug-ins with ilok: 1 Insert the ilok into an available USB port on your computer. 2 Launch Pro Tools. You will be prompted to authorize the MassivePack 3 plug-ins. 3 Follow the on-screen instructions until you are prompted to insert the License Card into the ilok. 4 Using License Card #1, separate the License Card (the removable plastic tab) from the larger protective card, by pulling the cutout up and out with your thumb. Do not force your finger downward. MassivePack 3 for Pro Tools Systems on Windows or Macintosh 11/10/04 2

5 Insert the License Card into the ilok. 6 Insert the metal chip end of the License Card. You will be able to visually verify that the License Card makes contact with the ilok s metal card reader. 7 Do not remove the ilok Smart Key at anytime during the authorization processes. 8 Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the authorization process for the plug-ins listed on License Card #1. 9 Remove the License Card and repeat the above steps with License Card #2. Customer and Technical Support Notes Please contact the following companies for customer and technical support. SoundToys SoundToys offers customer support for Sound Blender and Speed. SoundToys Contact info: mail: support@soundtoys.com phone: (802) 951-9700 Sony Sony offers customer and technical support for the Oxford EQ Sony Oxford Contact info: email: support@sonyplugins.com Digidesign Digidesign offers technical support for all other MassivePack 3 plug-ins. Please refer to the Digidesign Web site (www.digidesign.com) for contact info in your region. Known Issues The following sections document known issues you may encounter when using MassivePack plug-ins with Pro Tools, along with workarounds if they exist. For additional known issues, please see available Read Mes that accompany each plug-in. Eventide Eventide H949 Controls Are Not Optimally Mapped to D-Control or Command 8 Control Surfaces (Windows XP Only) (Item #56341) Although you can control Eventide H949 plug-in controls with D-Control and Command 8 control surfaces, the plug-in controls are not optimally mapped to the control surfaces. The Eventide H949 plug-in controls are optimally mapped to other Digidesign control surfaces (such as ProControl and Control 24). Eventide H949 Crashes when Used with D-Control (Pro Tools 6.6.x and Lower Only) (Item #52182) With Pro Tools 6.6.x and lower systems, when H949 is mapped to D-Control s custom faders (Plug-In mode), changing H949 s parameters using D-Control s rotary encoders will cause Pro Tools to crash. As a workaround, do not map Eventide H949 to custom faders on D-control. MassivePack 3 for Pro Tools Systems on Windows or Macintosh 11/10/04 3

Eventide H949 Installer Does Not Overwrite the Previous Version of H949 (Item #54168) The Eventide H949 Promo v1.2 installer will not remove or overwrite previous versions of H949. Remove any previous versions of Eventide H949 manually before running the new installer. Manually remove the plug-in from Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins. Sony Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ (RTAS) Clip Light Turns on Erroneously (Item #54018) When TDM Sony EQ is converted to an RTAS plug-in using the Convert Plug-In button, the Over internal Clip indicator lights up red even though no audio is passing through the plug-in. This only occurs the first time you convert from TDM to RTAS after launching Pro Tools. The workaround is to click on the Clip indicator to clear it. Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ: Conversion of RTAS to TDM Does Not Work as Expected (Item #53790) When a mono Sony TDM Oxford 3 Band is inserted on a track and replaced with TDM Oxford EQ + Filters, and then this plug-in is further converted to an RTAS plug-in and back to TDM using the Convert Plug-In button, it comes back as a TDM Oxford 3 Band, instead of an Oxford EQ + Filters. As a workaround, remove TDM or RTAS Oxford 3 Band EQ from the track and insert TDM Oxford EQ+ Filters. Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ: PACE Authorization Dialog Refers to Incorrect Sony EQ Version (Windows XP Only) (Item #55970) The PACE authorization dialog refers to Sony Oxford EQ v2.23 instead of v2.3. Sony Oxford EQ v2.3 and its authorization are indeed included in this plug-in bundle. Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ Preferences Window Graphics Appear Corrupted on Pro Tools 6.7 (Windows XP Only) (Item #55980) The Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ Preferences window is fully functionally, but does not appear correctly. It should appear as follows: Figure 1. Sony Oxford OXF-R3 EQ Preference Window MassivePack 3 for Pro Tools Systems on Windows or Macintosh 11/10/04 4

Line 6 Line 6 Echo Farm s Note Duration Control is Not Visible (Item #52134) When clicking on the Note Duration control, the pop-up menu with note duration options does not appear. Instead, you are forced to click on the option field and drag your mouse to the left or right to change note duration. This only occurs when your computer graphics card is configured for thousands of colors. The workaround is to verify that your computer graphics card is set to display Millions of colors. Line 6 Echo Farm s Output Gain Clip Light Cannot Be Cleared Using D-Control (Item #53960) If Echo Farm s output gain clip indicator has turned on, pressing the clear clip button on D-Control will not clear the clip indicator. The workaround is to click on Echo Farm s clip indicator to clear it (using a mouse or trackball). Line 6 Echo Farm s Delay Time Parameter is Incorrect when Using the Reverse Model (Item #53533) When using the Reverse model, the Delay Time value is half of what it should be, whether or not Echo Farm is synchronized to Pro Tools MIDI Beat Clock. Line 6 Echo Farm Shows It Is Tempo-Locked to Pro Tools Even when Not Actually Synchronized (Item #53526) When Echo Farm is locked to Pro Tools MIDI Beat Clock (when the Tempo Lock icon is illuminated yellow) and you click the Tap button several times, Echo Farm changes tempo but still shows that it is locked to the Pro Tools tempo. (If you change the Delay Time when locked to Pro Tools, the tempo lock does turn off or appear grey as expected.) The workaround is to unlock the Tempo Lock control before using the Tap button. Line 6 Echo Farm Becomes Bypassed after Opening a Factory Plug-In Settings File (Item #53536) Factory settings files have been saved with the Bypass control enabled. After opening a factory settings file using the Librarian Menu, Echo Farm becomes bypassed. As a workaround, open the plug-in s factory setting, and manually un-bypass the plugin. If you wish, you can resave each factory setting file with bypass turned off. Line 6 Echo Farm s Maximum Tempo is Less Than That of Pro Tools 6.7 (Item #49970) Pro Tools 6.7 s maximum tempo is greater than that of Echo Farm. As a workaround, try to use Pro Tools tempo values that fall within the range of Echo Farm, especially when Echo Farm is locked to Pro Tools MIDI Beat Clock. At Pro Tools tempos higher than those Echo Farm supports, unlock tempo synchronization and manually set Echo Farm s tempo to exactly half that of Pro Tools. Adjust your note durations accordingly. Line 6 Echo Farm: Plug-in Settings Files Saved with Echo Farm v2.1.x Will Not Open Correctly in Echo Farm v2.2 (Item #50475) When opening a plug-in settings file saved with Echo Farm v2.1.x, the Echo Farm v2.2 (on this MassivePack 3 CD) will lose the Delay Time setting. The workaround is to manually reset the Delay Time and resave the setting file. Alternatively, turn on Echo Farm s Tempo Lock control to keep it synchronized to your Pro Tools session. Trillium Lane Labs There are no known issues when using Trillium Labs plug-ins with Pro Tools. MassivePack 3 for Pro Tools Systems on Windows or Macintosh 11/10/04 5

Massenburg Design Works Massenburg Design Works High Resolution EQ Does Not Show Up Properly on D-Control (Items #53593 and 53717) When MDW EQ is mapped to D-Control s custom faders (Plug-In mode) or the dedicated EQ section, the In/Out button LEDs for all 5 bands appear to be reversed. When a band is enabled ( in ), the related LED will be un-lit. When a band is disabled ( out ), the related LED will be lit. When MDW EQ is mapped to D-Control s dedicated EQ section, the Band Type LEDs never turn on. Looking only at D-Control, you are unable to determine whether a given band is a notch, high-pass, low shelf, high shelf, or low-pass filter. McDSP McDSP Filter Bank is Unable to Display All Automation Data for Stereo Filter Bank (Item #53276) If you insert a multichannel Filter Bank on a stereo audio track, and enable its L and R Gain controls for automation, when you Control-Command-click on the right Gain slider, the track playlist still displays left Gain. When trying to switch to the Right Gain graph with your mouse on an Automation pop-up menu, the left gain will be stuck, and the track always displays Left Gain. The workaround is to first select a different type of playlist and then try again to display the playlist you wish to see. SoundToys SoundToys Pitch Blender and Time Blender Controls Are Not Optimally Mapped to Digidesign Control Surfaces (Windows XP Only) (Item #54625) Although you can control SoundToys Pitch Blender and Time Blender plug-in controls with Digidesign control surfaces (such as D-Control, Command 8, ProControl, and Control 24), the plug-in controls are not optimally mapped to the control surfaces. SoundToys Speed AudioSuite Plug-in Does Not Work when Used as a TC/E Tool Plug-In (Windows XP Only) (Item #28156) You cannot use Speed as your Time Compression/Expansion AudioSuite plug-in for use with the Time Trimmer Tool. As a workaround, use Speed from the AudioSuite menu directly. Alternatively, go to Setups > Preferences, choose the Processing tab, and then select another TC/E plug-in for use with the Time Trimmer Tool. SoundToys Pitch Blender and Time Blender Appear in the Other Plug-In Menu Category (Windows XP Only) (Item #46752) On Pro Tools 6.4 and higher, Pitch Blender and Time Blender appear in the Plug-in menu Other category, instead of Pitch Shift and Delay, respectively. SoundToys Sound Blender s Maximum Tempo is Less than That of Pro Tools 6.7 (Item #52952) Pro Tools 6.7 s maximum tempo is greater than that of Sound Blender. As a workaround, try to use Pro Tools tempo values that fall within the range of Sound Blender. At higher Pro Tools tempos, manually set Sound Blender s tempo to exactly half that of Pro Tools and adjust other settings accordingly. MassivePack 3 for Pro Tools Systems on Windows or Macintosh 11/10/04 6

Digidesign Restoring Original Bomb Factory Plug-In Settings to Digidesign Bomb Factory v4.0 (Macintosh Only) (Item #54459) Almost all plug-in settings folder names for Bomb Factory plug-ins on Mac OS X were changed with the release of Digidesign Bomb Factory Plug-Ins version 4.0. When opening a session created with original Bomb Factory settings there will be two Plug-In Settings folders. In order to be able to use old settings in the session, the settings can be imported from the TM settings folder, or they can be copied manually in Finder into the current Plug-In Settings folder. Bomb Factory Plug-ins Cannot Be Moved (Item #46651) On systems with HD Core or HD Process cards, you may experience difficulties at higher sampling rates when trying to force a Bomb Factory plug-in off an Accel DSP onto an HD Core or HD Process card, in a situation where there should be ample DSP available on the card. SMACK! Attack and Release Controls May Respond Slowly when Adjusted by Some Control Surfaces (Item #53122) Smack! Attack and Release controls may respond slower than usual if adjusted with an external control surface (such as Command 8 or D-Control). Digidesign Smack! Values Entered into the Ratio Control Text Box May Produce Unexpected Results (Item #52022) Entering values into the Smack! Ratio text box may produce unexpected results if the value does not exactly match specific ratio settings. (For example, entering 5 may produce an unexpected result because there is no 5 Ratio setting.) For best results, enter the exact value or drag the Ratio control to adjust it to the desired setting.<< Digidesign Smack! AudioSuite Preview Does Not Work Properly in Pro Tools 6.4.x (Item #53372) When using the AudioSuite version of Smack!, and previewing, you can adjust Input and Output but no compression occurs and the VU meter does not change. The workaround is to use the RTAS or TDM version of Smack! and bounce the selection to disk. Alternatively, upgrade to Pro Tools 6.7 or higher.
