Using the same pressure sensor technology found in Mensor s Series 6180 High Precision Pressure Transducer, the CPC 8000 can measure pressure with an accuracy of 0.01% IS- 50*. Optionally, a 0.008% IS-33* vibrating quartz sensor can be installed. The percent of reading specification plus a proprietary control valve pressure regulator provides accurate, fast and stable control across the entire pressure range. Combined with Mensor s world class service and support, the CPC 8000 is an industry leading solution to a wide variety of high pressure test and calibration applications requiring an automatic pressure calibrator/controller. Functionality The CPC 8000 can be provided as a single pressure range calibrator or with an optional lower range, secondary sensor in a dual range configuration to further enhance performance over a wide pressure range, providing increased flexibility. Pressure ranges are available starting at 2000 psi (140 bar) up to 6000 psi (410 bar). The optional secondary sensor can be any value below these ranges, as long as the ratio between the primary and secondary range does not exceed 10 to 1. User Interface The large TFT active matrix color display enhances the user interface and assures ease-of-use by presenting data and menu selections in a clear, concise manner. The membrane style keypad with large navigation keys, numeric inputs and dedicated jog and step buttons provides trouble-free operation and can be easily cleaned. Remote Interface Remote communications are achieved through the RS-232 or IEEE-488. * See page 3 Specifications Mensor Data Sheet CPC 8000 02/2012

Features and Functions Excellent control performance The CPC 8000 has fast, quiet pressure control and excellent control stability with minimal or no overshoot. Adaptability The control algorithm can be automatically adjusted to adapt to test the volume by using the Controller adaption feature. If necessary, a head pressure correction can be entered to adjust for the difference in height between the device under test and the CPC 8000. In addition, the controller has a warm-up time of less than 15 minutes to insure rapid deployment to remote locations. For special applications, the control speed can be reduced to only 0.1 % of the maximum speed, this provides a means to control into a set point with deliberately slow precision when necessary (e.g. pressure switch testing). Ease of use The menu structure provides a short learning curve for operators. Each menu gives instructions on how to operate within the menu and functions that can be achieved. Front panel membrane switches give a crisp, positive tactile feedback and provide a direct control of the CPC 8000 or navigation through setup menus. The Window settings screen provides configuration elements for the CPC 8000 user interface screen. The CPC 8000 offers a wide variety of pressure units, including 3 user defined units. If desired, the rate of change display can be set to the selected unit per second, minute or hour. Page 4 of 8 Mensor Data Sheet CPC 8000 02/2012
Accuracy and Control Pressure Control The CPC 8000 utilizes a proprietary pressure control technology that provides fast pressure control with minimal or no overshoot and a control stability to 0.001% of range. The instrument also features the ability to automatically characterize the control profile to provide optimum pressure control into a specific volume. This unique control valve technology also provides quiet operation, which makes the CPC 8000 the ideal pressure calibrator for both production and laboratory environments. The unique control valve design also minimizes the number of mechanical components, reducing time consuming and potentially expensive maintenance requirements. High Accuracy / Long term stability One or two Mensor CPT 6180 High Precision Pressure Transducers are used in the CPC 8000. With an uncertainty of 0.01% IS-50 the CPC 8000 can deliver a percent of reading uncertainty for one year without the need for recertification. Optionally, a vibrating quartz transducer can be used to provide 0.008% IS-33 uncertainty for one year. Both sensors can be calibrated using from 3 to 11 linearization points The CPC 8000 indicates both the control setpoint and the actual measured pressure. The bar graph provides an indication of the current pressure versus full scale pressure. With 0.01%IS-50 the ranges of primary and secondary transducers can be spanned so that a continuous percent of reading uncertainty is possible over a wide range. For example: a 6000 psi primary and 3000 psi secondary transducer will deliver a 0.01%R uncertainty from 6000 psi to 1500 psi for a full year without recalibration. These transducers can be spanned to customer specified ranges. The vibrating quartz sensor (uncertainty of 0.008% IS-33), has specific full scale ranges available. Primary and secondary ranges can be chosen in such a way that the percent of reading portion of the spans will overlap. For example: a 500 psi primary and a 240 psi secondary range will have 0.008% of reading uncertainty from 500 psi to 79.2 psi. Shown below are graphical representations for 0.01% IS-50 and 0.008% IS-33. When calibrating the CPC 8000 a choice can be made to linearize the sensor using from 3 to 11 calibration points. 0.6 0.04 Uncertainty (psi) 0.45 0.3 0.15 Primary Transducer (6000 psi) 0.01% IS-50 Secondary Transducer (3000 psi) 0.01% IS-50 Uncertainty (psi) 0.03 0.02 0.013 0.01 0.0063 Primary Transducer (500 psi) 0.008% IS-33 Secondary Transducer (240 psi) 0.008% IS-33 0 0 1500 3000 4500 6000 Pressure (psi) 0.01% Intelliscale-50 (0.01% IS-50) 6000 psi primary sensor & 3000 psi secondary. 0 0 79.2 165 240 375 500 Pressure (psi) 0.008% Intelliscale-33 (0.008% IS-33) 500 psia primary sensor & 240 psia secondary. CPC 8000-H High Pressure Calibrator The CPC 8000-H High Pressure Calibrator is a product extension of the CPC 8000 and includes a high pressure hydraulic circuit that is driven by the pneumatic output from the CPC 8000. The CPC 8000 proprietary needle valve regulator forms the heart of the pneumatic primary circuit. A controlled pneumatic pressure from the CPC 8000 feeds a pneumatic to hydraulic interface and multiplier, which supplies a high precision hydraulic pressure at the test port. Features Pressure ranges: 8,700 / 14,500 / 23,000 psi Pressure medium: Hydraulic oil or water Control stability: 0.008 %FS Total uncertainty: 0.014 %FS Priming function The priming function operates from 150 to 175 psi to ensure the control circuit and device under test are filled. This insures that large test volumes are filled completely with hydraulic fluid. Accuracy and control stability A high accuracy pressure sensor in the hydraulic system feeds back to the pneumatic controller which delivers a pressure to the multiplier ensuring a precise stable hydraulic control output. Adaptability to the operating volume is set via the Controller adaption menu, which automatically optimizes the control algorithm to the current volume of the device under test, delivering a pressure with a control stability of 0.003% FS. Ease of use The streamlined and intuitive menu structure is implemented clearly through a large TFT active matrix color display. The main screen clearly shows various operation settings plus 7-digits of resolution for the set point and pressure. Seventeen standard and three programmable units of measure are available. Menu functions are identical to the CPC 8000. Long-term stability and low maintenance The high accuracy pressure sensor features a calibration stability of one year. In addition, the needle valve regulator technology ensures low auditory noise and wear resistant pressure control.
