With the rapidly growing of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) foundations, management of mass project-relevant digital data is becoming more and more important. In this paper we fully introduce the construction scheme of cloud platform that will be implemented in the information system of NSFC. At first, the entire cloud platform architecture is presented. Then we introduce the system software and equipment environment of our platform. Lastly, we present the construction of private cloud, including network components, storage components, and computing components. Keywords: NSFC; Cloud Platform; Mass Storage; Information System 1 Introduction Cloud computing is a kind of new computing model which shares IT resources by ways of virtualization, based on the network [1, 2]. The core idea is that unified management and scheduling calculation, storage, network, software and other resources through the network, so as to achieve the purpose of resource integration and configuration optimization. Cloud computing is by service usage pattern, which meets different demands of users such as getting access to needed resources and expanding them instantly, using on-demand and paying for them, finally, to cut costs to the bone. Cloud computing is regarded as another significant changes of information technology after the personal computer and the Internet. And it will bring us fundamental changes in the work patterns and business models. With rapid growth of global markets of the cloud computing, the countries and regions which are national information industry power give high attention to cloud computing, put the key points of cloud computing as a future strategic industry. They all formulate and issue the development strategy planning of cloud computing one after another, and speed up the deployment of cloud computing infrastructure at the national level and the promotion of its applications, in order to take the cloud computing industry commanding heights. The National Natural Science Foundation of China, which manages the National Natural Science Fund, is an institution directly under the State Council. In the longterm work, the foundation has accumulated a lot of research and management date, including structured and unstructured data like the researcher, the research production, the research activity, the research setting and the Funding management. Based on the existing core date and sustainable use of advanced information technology, developing the national basic research knowledge service system will have important and far-reaching significance [3-5]. The national basic research knowledge service system is a platform for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and serving the majority of scientific research personnel [6]. 2 Cloud Platform Architecture Infrastructure platform includes three parts: computer room environment, private cloud and system software, as shown in Fig. 1. Among them, the private cloud is the core of the infrastructure platform, which uniformly manages and assigns tasks to the computing components, storage components and network components, and provides necessary underlying interface support for the system software. 3 System Software and Equipment Environment 3.1 System Software System Software mainly includes two parts: Operating System (OS) and Database Management System (DMS). At present, the mainstream OS includes UNIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows, VMware, etc. The mainstream DMS includes Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, etc. Considering safety, stability, property, maintainability and cost, OS of the project DB running on dominate by UNIX and Linux. And Oracle DMS is suggested. OS is the support system of application about data sharing and service of scientific research basic recognition service system. Special management personnel should maintain the scientific research basic recognition service system, periodically update the system, repair system hole, monitor and optimize the performance of OS, DMS and other application software. The management of infrastructure platform DB utilizes centralization first, distribution second. International open standards and criterion should be observed strictly. Infrastructure platform ought to perform essential monitoring and optimization to DB. The retrieve speed and strategy of backup recovery will be improved. 3.2 Equipment Environment Environment of the equipment is the basis of the running of all IT equipment and application system, which includes building decoration, power distribution, refrigeration, security and protection monitoring parts and so on. This room should have features which contain constant temperature and humidity, the ability of antistatic and dustproof, redundant electric power, secure and trusted management and centralized control, etc. Now the National Foundation has completed the construction of center system room, which can be expanded and transformed into knowledge service system. 4 Construction of Private Clouds 4.1 Network components Network components are the basis of data operation, exchange and storage. It should consider the abilities in all directions such as scalability, availability, management, security, etc. In the terms of scalability, In order to improve the capability of route extension, optimized modular design and the network equipment of high port density should utilize as much as possible. three layers of routing function. The terms of availability includes the network devices and the redundancy of the network. Network components provide a variety of optimized management information, complete function of QoS as guarantee for SLA and management System of SLA in the terms of management. The capabilities of multiple manufacturer device management and performance analysis and the failure alarm of accurate and timely, billing also considered. The security includes the safety control not only in the physical space but also in the network. 4.2 Storage Components Storage can be divided into two classes according to the characteristics of service system based on basic research. The first class called business running storage and the second class is backup storage. The basic research knowledge service system put data in storage after checking up and other business rely on the support of the reliable and high performance I/O. The storage system with processing capacity of highperformance, disk system of high speed, large capacity of the storage cache and the storage system should be Equipped. For other business running store, the intermediate storage system can be used. In order to ensure the safety of the data in sudden accident of the running system,the main storage system should be authorized disaster recovery for the snapshot to the blocks of data. At the same time, it is equipped with backup storage and corresponding storage software to realize the function of data backup. 4.3 Computing Components The computing component as the support system of the core business, it undertakes the storage and processing of the whole system data. It is import to select the computing component due to its characteristics of large volume and large storage. High reliability and availability is the primary demand, then consider the ability of data processing and security. After that is the capacity of scalable and easy to manage. The General principles of planning should follow as next, such as the requirements of the technical architecture, unified planning, classification of the demand and the application promotion. The selection criteria include the types, performance, management, efficiency, energy consumption, reliability of the server. In order to realize dynamically allocating computing resources, it should be on the basis of the application, division of data to provide adequate server resources for various applications servers, such as the database services, application support services, backup services, operational services, and other types of application services. 5 Conclusions The national basic research knowledge service system is a platform for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and serving the majority of scientific research personnel. quality server to the users, we develop a new cloud platform for the NSFC basic information system, which mainly includes three parts: computer room environment, private cloud and system software.
