Using UCHC Outlook Web Access Email 3/6/2012 This is available to all UCHC employees, Residents and Students with a UCHC Exchange mailbox. You can logon to this location using your Username and password (not your email address) as the logon. Supplying a domain name of UCHC\ or EDUCATION\ is optional. This service is refer to also as Microsoft OWA, this is the URL to access your UCHC Mailbox through an Internet Browser such as IE, Firefox/Safari, the main difference is that IE will provide a 3 pane view, and Firefox/Safari is a 2 pane view (which is called Outlook Web Access Light). The web location mail.uchc.edu will redirect you to a secure session automatically. This is the UCHC Information Technology's OWA address: http://itowa.uchc.edu You will be redirected to a secure session automatically: Page 1

Once logged on, you will observe this view (IE): All icons to operate the Outlook Web Access client are displayed on this form. Page 2

Here is what the UCHC Global Address List would look like: You can find a Name by typing into the Search Box, Even though our display names are Last, First you can still type in a First name in the search field. The Outlook Web Access Client functions similarly to Other WEB email clients. They are many options you can set, However, Most defaults are appropriate for most users. Page 5

These are the options pages: The password must contain characters from three of the following four categories: 1. English uppercase characters (A through Z) 2. English lowercase characters (a through z) 3. Base 10 digits (0 through 9) 4. Non alphabetic characters (for example,!, $, #, %) The password may not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters. Additional security in place with regard to passwords include: Page 12

1. History of last 5 passwords is retained and are prevented from use 2. Passwords must change every 90 days 3. These are the options pages: You have the ability on your own to "Wipe" data on a device (like of it was lost or stolen) as long as the device is on and connected to your mailbox through Exchange active sync, now or in the future. Page 16

There is an integrated Outlook Calendar: This Calendar, in addition to your Inbox, can be synced with a mobile device through Exchange Active sync. Page 17

There is also an integrated Personal Address Book: Contacts are your personally created contacts. Suggested Contacts are email addresses you have used Outbound, also known as a nickname cache. Page 18
