Interact with Mainframe and Non-mainframe Data in a Common, Intuitive Manner Topaz for Enterprise Data, part of the Topaz suite of mainframe development and testing tools, enables developers and data architects to discover, visualize and work with both mainframe and non-mainframe data in a common, intuitive manner. EXTRACT AND LOAD RELATED DATA Topaz for Enterprise Data simplifies the complex task of managing data and preparing data for testing. This enables developers and test engineers to perform data-related tasks without writing programs or scripts, coding SQL or using multiple utilities. They can easily create specifications to extract related sets of data from one environment and load them into another. Extracting just the relevant data needed for testing is done using easy-to-use selection criteria or starting key values. The extracted data will remain relationally intact based on the referential integrity (RI) or application relationships (AR). Data can then be loaded into the environment of choice by applying the necessary data transformation rules. Easily define an extract by choosing a driving table as the starting point, then select Use referential integrity and/or Use application relationships to discover the complete set of related tables.
Use Field Mapping to associate columns of the source table with columns of the target table. Optionally, apply expressions if the source value needs to be adjusted before being written to the target table. The DDL tab displays the DDL used to create any non-existent target tables and associated constraints; if changes are needed the DDL can be edited. COMPARE DATA Topaz for Enterprise Data s Compare feature enables developers to easily identify differences between files, including files located on different LPARS. VISUALIZE DATA RELATIONSHIPS Developers, data architects, analysts and other IT professionals can visually manage vast quantities of data objects using the Relationship Visualizer, a graphical representation of data relationships across the enterprise.
