2. SET UP IN MAGENTO We indicate which features are available on which version of Fooman Flexible Navigation Menu in the following way: (v1.0.0+). Click on CMS > Manage Menu Items to get started. This section shows an overview of navigation menu items you currently have set up. 1. How To: Edit Menu Item Within each individual menu item, you can reset the settings, save or delete the menu item via the orange buttons. Page 3
2. How To: Add New Menu Item On the Manage Menu Items screen, click the Add Menu Item button. This will bring up the following screen to create the new menu item. The settings are explained on the following page. Page 4
Type (v1.0.0+) Select the menu item type you want to create. Choose from the following: Home Adds a homepage menu item. Account Adds a customer account page menu item. Account Plus Adds a customer account page menu item, with log out drop down box when a logged in customer hovers over the menu item. Checkout Adds a checkout page menu item which is always visible in navigation bar, regardless of whether a customer has added anything to their cart. Checkout Plus Adds a checkout page menu item, which is only visible in navigation bar when customer has added an item to their cart. Login Adds a login page menu item. If a customer is already logged in, this will change to Logout. Contact Adds a contact page menu item. Page 5
CMS Page Adds a CMS page in your store as a menu item, with optional use of parent headings for a fold out menu for subcategory pages. Default Product Categories Adds all default product categories (standard Magento category tree) as menu items, with a dropdown box to display subcategories. This is the standard Magento navigation menu the difference is that you can slot the categories in between other menu items. Combined Product Categories Adds all product categories in your store under a user friendly parent heading of your choice (eg. Shop or Browse ). Individual product categories will display as a drop down/fold out menu. Cart Adds a shopping cart menu item, with a drop down mini cart when a customer hovers over the menu item. Page 6
Category Adds an individual product category menu item/s (multiple product categories can be displayed as separate menu items). Product Adds an individual product menu item/s (multiple products can be displayed as separate menu items). AW Blog Adds the main page of your store's Aheadworks blog (if installed) as a menu item. AW Blog with Categories Adds the main page of your store's Aheadworks blog as a menu item, with a drop down menu with all blog categories. AW Blog Category Adds a category of your store's Aheadworks blog as a menu item (multiple categories can be displayed as separate menu items). AW Blog Post Adds an individual blog post of your store's Aheadworks blog as a menu item (multiple posts can be displayed as separate menu items). Page 7
Title (1.0.0+) Enter the name of your menu item, to be displayed on the top navigation menu. You can't change the title for the Cart, Login and Categories menu item types but you can enter a title for your own purpose. This won't be shown on the navigation menu. Store View (1.0.0+) Select which store(s) you wish to apply the new menu setting to. If you're running a multi store setup, use this setting to differentiate menu items for individual stores. Sort Order (1.0.0+) Adjust the order of menu items. Menu items will be ordered according to the assigned number eg. enter 1 for the item you want to appear first, 2 for the item you want to appear second, and so on. CMS Page (1.0.0+) Choose which page you want to use for your menu item (only appears if the CMS Page menu item type is selected). A dropdown menu will be automatically populated with your store data. Parent (1.0.0+) If you want this item to appear as a sub-item of an existing menu item, select the parent item here. Page 8
Category (1.0.0+) Choose which category you want to use for your menu item (only appears if the Category menu item type is selected). A dropdown menu will be automatically populated with your store data. Select Products (1.0.0+) Choose which product you want to use for your menu item (only appears if the Product menu item type is selected). A select tool will be automatically populated with your store data. AW Blog Category (1.0.0+) Choose which category you want to use for your menu item (only appears if the AW Blog Category menu item type is selected). A dropdown menu will be automatically populated with your blog categories. AW Blog Post (1.0.0+) Choose which post you want to use for your menu item (only appears if the AW Blog Post menu item type is selected). A dropdown menu will be automatically populated with your blog posts. Parent (1.0.0+) If you want this item to appear as a sub-item of an existing menu item, select the parent item here. Page 9
