"There's a lot of hype about M2, but it's probably just an inconsequential version update." M2 isn't a slight iteration. It is a completely different platform.
"M2 is replacing M1, so this is just what we need to do." You shouldn't move to M2 unless you are excited about everything available to you.
"I'm not a big fan of M1, so why would I like M2?" Magento has created M2 to specifically address M1 limitations.
"If M2 requires so much work to move to, maybe I should just move to another platform." You should consider other options, but make sure you understand everything M2 offers.
