CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the new Version 9 EURO control panel. This EURO control panel complies with the latest EN50131-1, BS8243 and PD6662 standards. For more information please download our information booklet from the below address: http://www.castle-caretech.com/standards This booklet will show both the EN50131-1 features and the new EURO features. For a more detailed look at all the rest of the programming features please refer to the full programming manuals that were supplied with the control panels. CHAPTER 2: NEW EN50131-1 FEATURES 2.1 The Rear Tamper Switch The new rear tamper mechanism comes already fitted as shown to the right. Once the metal casing is mounted on a wall, the metal rod is fixed into place on the tamper switch: if the casing is pulled away from the wall, the tamper switch will drop downward and a tamper activation will occur. If the supplied stand-offs are used, then the rear tamper switch will need the back tamper spacer fixed on to the wall with the 2 screws supplied, as shown to the right. 2.2 The New EN50131-1 Programming Features 2.2.1 Entering the Engineers Menu: Enter Engineer Code (default 1111). Any active faults will be shown. Press the key. SET / UNSET SYSTEM? will be displayed. Press the key. FORCE ARM ON 1 st INPUT [01] will be displayed. Press the key. INHIBIT FIRE / HU? will be displayed Once you are in the Engineer Menu, a high pitch tone will be generated regularly to remind you that you are still in the Engineer Menu. Page: 2

2.2.2 Engineers Menu: Change Timers HU Confirm Time This function is used to programme the time period during which a second activation on a hold up alarm must occur to qualify as a sequentially confirmed alarm. Programmable to 8-20 hours. Set Fail Warning This function works in conjunction with the Set Fail Time (in Change Timers). Once the Set Fail Time has been exceeded (40 seconds at default), warning entry tones will be heard indicating that the Set Fail Warning timer has started. If a Final Door has been opened and closed during the Set Fail Warning time, the system will set. If the exit door has not be opened and closed during the programmed Set Fail Warning time, the system will go back to its unset state once the timer has expired. The Set Fail Warning timer may be programmed between 0-99 minutes NOTE: This function will only work if Set Fail = Alarm is programmed as No in Site Options. Change Timers CHANGE TIMERS? to scroll through each option. Use the numeric buttons to change a value, or the or keys. Once you have finished, press the key, you will be returned to the Engineer Menu. 2.2.3 Engineers Menu: Alarm Response Hold Up Starts and Stops At This function now can be programmed to stop at Confirm to coincide with the new HU Confirm timer option as described in Change Timers. 2.2.4 Engineer Menu: Change Outputs New EN 50131 Output Type: 0028 Power Fault: Power Active during low volts and battery faults. Restores at code entry after fault cleared Change Outputs CHANGE OUTPUTS? Endstation Outputs To program the control panel outputs and the ATE pins press the key. Use The numeric keys to select the output type and press the key. 0028: Power Fault 2.2.5 Engineer Menu: Site Options Fob Unset On Entry If YES, this function will allow the use of the wireless keyfob to unset the system outside the premises. If this is set as NO, a wireless keyfob will only unset the system after the entry door has been opened. Download if Set If YES then upload/downloading will be possible regardless if the panel is set or unset. Site Options SITE OPTIONS. to scroll through the different options. 2.2.6 Engineer Menu: Set Up Downloading PLEASE NOTE: For upload/downloading, please use version 9.1 InSite software which can be downloaded from the Castle website. Security Mode: To comply with DD263:2010: This function is now defaulted for Dial Back When creating a customer in InSite, it is important that the control panel site telephone number is programmed. It is also important that the InSite modem telephone number is programmed in PC1 of the downloading menu at the control panel. When dialling a control panel click the Dial Customer option in InSite and the PC will call the control panel, once the control panel has answered, the panel and InSite will hang up. After a few seconds the control panel will call the PC modem and InSite, from here an upload or download may take place. Roving Dial: This option (when disabled) prevents anyone dialling into the panel using roving dial from the InSite software. It is possible to do a roving dial to a control panel, when the control panel is in its default state. To comply with DD263:2010 this option must be defaulted to disabled. 3.1.1 Day mode: Change Codes CHAPTER 3: NEW EURO FEATURES This function now works differently from previous versions in the Master Manager Menu. The menu is split into the sub menu s Add New User and Delete/Change User. There is also a quick add tag function in day mode: If a tag that is not programmed is presented in day mode, the EURO will ask if this tag needs to be programmed. Day Mode Enter your Master Manager Code. SET DATE AND TIME will be displayed. Press the key to scroll through the options. CHANGE CODES. Add New User To add a new user, press the key (or press the key to delete / change a user - see screen shots below). Any codes that are empty will be displayed here. Use the and keys to scroll through the different free user codes and press the key to enter a code. From here you can select the user options. Delete / Change User to delete / change a user. Any codes that are already taken will be displayed here. Use the and keys to scroll through the different taken user codes and press the key to delete or change that code. From here you can select the user options or press the key to delete it. Page: 6

3.1.2 Engineer Menu: Change Inputs Input Type 43: Final Exit 2 Any input programmed as Final Exit 2 will act the same as input type 07, but the associated input will use the Entry delay 2 timer (which is programmed in Change Timers ). This gives the opportunity to set different entry times for different entry routes. Input Attribute: Walk Test If enabled, the input will have to be walk tested before the system can be set. Change Inputs CHANGE INPUTS?. Input Select the input number you wish to program and press the key. Input Type Select the input type using either the numeric code or the and keys. Input Type 43: Final Exit 2 Press the key to select the areas and attributes. Input Attributes Walk Test Enter : for No Enter : for Yes to scroll through the different options or press to exit. 3.1.3 Engineer Menu: Install ZEM This function now allows the choice of either Wired or Wireless ZEMs being installed on the EURO system. Please note that Wireless ZEMs are for future use and are not available for this software version. 3.1.4 Engineer Menu: Wireless Device Control This function is for future use Page: 7

3.1.5 Engineer Menu: Change Timers Entry Time 2 Entry time for each area but will only be applied to any input programmed as input type Final Exit 2. This is programmable to 0-255 seconds. A,B,C or D Entry Time 2 Once you have finished, press the key, you will be returned to the Engineer Menu. 3.1.6 Engineer Menu: Volume Control Silent Technical Alert: If this function is enabled then any technical alerts will be silenced. 3.1.7 Engineer Menu: Change Outputs 0049 Detector Masked: If any detector goes into mask condition the output will trigger. It will restore when the masking fault clears. 0050 Follow 24 Hour: If any input programmed as Day Alarm activates the output will trigger. It will restore when the input is restored. 0070-0079 Fob Output 01-10: For future use Wireless Bells: For future use Change Outputs CHANGE OUTPUTS? Endstation Outputs To program the control panel outputs and the ATE pins press the key. Use The numeric keys to select the output type and press the key. 0049: Detector Masked Use The numeric keys to select the output type and press the key. 0050: Follow 24 Hour or key to exit. 3.1.8 Engineer Menu: Intelligent Set The Intelligent set function now works slightly differently to software versions older than 9.1: When intelligent set is enabled, and when the user starts to set their system, level set B will start to set (if the user code is enabled in level set B). Then if a Final Exit input is activated (which is programmed in level set A) during the exit time, then the EURO will automatically quick set in level set A. Page: 9

3.1.9 Engineer Menu: Site Options Strobe/Squawk at Set If the STROBE is enabled, a STROBE ANY output will be activated for 5 seconds as the system arms. If the SQUAWK is enabled, a SIREN ANY output will be activated for 5 seconds as the system arms. If the BOTH is enabled, any SIREN ANY and STROBE ANY outputs will be activated for 5 seconds as the system arms. Set With Polling Fault For future use. CHAPTER 4: DEVICE FAIL If a device on the EURO system is not installed correctly or has lost its communication with the panel, DEVICE FAIL will be shown on the keypad as shown: CONTROL PANEL = Main panel fault (e.g. battery) 485 FAIL KPD = Keypad 485 FAIL TRD = Tag Reader / Door Station / TMZ 485 FAIL ZEM = Zone Expander Module (ZEM) 485 FAIL OPM = Output Module 485 FAIL WZM = Wireless ZEM If a Location description is inputted, then this will be displayed on the top line of the display instead of the address number. (Address number will be displayed in 2 digits, e.g: 00,01,02 etc). Page: 11
