1 Interpretatin 1.1 References t clauses r sectins are references t clauses r sectins in this Service Descriptin unless expressly prvided therwise. The definitins set ut in the General Terms and the Operatins Manual apply t this Service Descriptin unless expressly prvided therwise. 1.2 References t the Operatins Manual are references t the Operatins Manual fr the Bitstream Services. 2 The Bitstream 4 Service 2.1 The Bitstream 4 Service is a high speed single-class bitstream service suitable fr cmplex business grade applicatins delivered ver pint-t-pint fibre access. Bitstream 4 is part f the UFB family f bitstream services: Bitstream 2 Bitstream 3 Bitstream 3a Bitstream 4 UFB Handver Cnnectin Multicast ATA Vice Based n the TCF Mass Market service. Based n the TCF Business service. Based n the TCF Business service with Lw Pririty ptins. Based n the TCF Business Premium service. Based n the TCF E-NNI specificatin. Based n the TCF Ethernet Multicast Access (EMA) service. An analgue telephne access service. 2.2 A diagram f the cnfiguratin fr the Bitstream 4 Service is set ut in Appendix A. The Bitstream 4 Service prvides an Ethernet E-APL bitstream service frm the NID: 2.2.1 inside the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable); r 2.2.2 at the Service Prvider s c-lcatin Ftprint at a Central Office (as described in clause 3.2), t a UFB Handver Cnnectin Service lcated at the POI r (using Tail Extensin) anther handver pint that enables a Service Prvider t access and intercnnect with the LFC Netwrk. 2.3 The Bitstream 4 Service is an input service which a Service Prvider can cmbine with ther LFC services (r with the Service Prvider s wn netwrk r whlesale services prvided by ther service prviders) t prvide fibre based telecmmunicatins services t End Users. 2.4 The Bitstream 4 Service has the fllwing key characteristics: 2.4.1 An Ethernet E-APL bitstream service delivered ver Active Optical Netwrk (P2P) fibre that allws up t 4093 VLANS t be passed transparently frm the End User Premises r Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable) r the Service Prvider s c-lcatin space t the Service Prvider s UFB Handver Cnnectin at the POI. 2.4.2 A range f standard service plans are ffered. 2.4.3 Supprts tagged r untagged frames at the UNI. 2.4.4 Can be delivered t a cmmercial Shared Handver Cnnectin at the POI r (using Tail Extensin) anther handver pint. 2.4.5 Cmplies with the Business Premium service specified in the TCF Ethernet Access Service Descriptin v24, 19 January 2011. 3 Bitstream 4 Service and Implementatin Activities Installatin Services 3.1 The Bitstream 4 Service includes a Standard Install as set ut in the Operatins Manual. 1 The LFC will prvide Nn-Standard Installs as an ancillary service. 3.2 If the Service Prvider elects t take delivery f the Bitstream 4 Service at the Service Prvider s clcatin Ftprint taken pursuant t the Central Office and POI C-lcatin Service, a Standard Install includes cnnectin f the Bitstream 4 Service t an LFC NID (if required) installed in the Service Prvider s c-lcatin Ftprint. Terminatin Pint 3.3 The Bitstream 4 Layer 1 and Layer 2 terminatin pints are set ut in the Operatins Manual. Testing 3.4 The LFC will test the Fibre Lead-in frm the terminatin pint at the Premises, as referred t in the Operatins Manual, t the Central Office where the access nde is lcated t ensure the fibre is within the technical specificatin fr fibre set ut in Appendix B. 3.5 The LFC will cmplete a functinal test f the Bitstream 4 Service at the Layer 2 terminatin pint at the Premises referred t in the Operatins Manual. Additinal Services 3.6 If the Service Prvider requires additinal services such as: (a) a Nn-Standard Install which includes (where required): (i) (ii) (iii) the installatin f the Fibre Lead-in where there is n existing fibre cabling and the installatin is utside the parameters set ut in the Operatins Manual; r installatin f specialised terminatin equipment in an NBAP; r installatin f Fibre-Lead-in diversity at an End User Premises, Service Prviders Premises r NBAP (as applicable) (frm the FAP t the ETP r OFDF as applicable); (b) (c) (d) prvisin f diversity t End User Premises r Service Prvider s Premises r NBAP (as applicable) (when the secnd r subsequent instance f the Bitstream 4 Service is purchased); any Premises wiring services; r installatin and testing f Service Prvider equipment and services, 1 Standard Install parameters may differ between LFCs Chrus UFB Services Agreement Page 3 f 9

then the LFC may be able t prvide items (c) and (d) n request subject t terms t be agreed between the LFC and the Service Prvider. Items (a) and (b) are available n terms as set ut in this Agreement. Cre Bitstream 4 Service 3.7 The cre bitstream services prvided as part f the Bitstream 4 Service are as fllws: 3.7.1 An Ethernet E-APL Service that supprts transparent pass-thrugh f 802.3 and 802.1Q frames n a designated UNI n the NID at the End User premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable) (r Service Prvider s c-lcatin space, as the case may be ). 3.7.2 Delivered ver a single 802.1ad SVLAN n the E-NNI at the POI. 3.7.3 All tagged and untagged traffic sent frm the End User is treated as High Pririty. 3.7.4 Multiple service plans are available t Service Prviders, using the fllwing parameters: (a) (b) Access Rate; and Service bandwidth, as set ut in the table belw. UNI NNI characteristics 3.7.6 The Bitstream 4 Service requires a dedicated UNI. 3.7.7 The sum f High Pririty traffic prfiles f all services delivered at a UFB Handver Cnnectin can exceed the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service line rate. If there is insufficient line rate t deliver the High Pririty traffic then frames will be randmly discarded and Service Levels d nt apply. It is therefre the Service Prvider s respnsibility t shape and queue traffic apprpriately. Operatins, Administratin and Maintenance 3.8 The Bitstream 4 Service will supprt Service Prvider remte access t the NID via a service management gateway fr apprpriate management. A Service Prvider may request particular management attributes via the Prduct Develpment Prcess. Service Requirements 3.9 T use the Bitstream 4 Service the Service Prvider must have the capability t access and intercnnect with it, by ne f the fllwing: 3.9.1 c-lcating Service Prvider equipment at the POI using the either a UFB Handver Cnnectin Service r a Shared Handver Cnnectin and Central Office and POI Clcatin Service; 3.9.2 cnnecting t third party c-lcatin space at the POI using the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service, and with the third party taking the Central Office and POI C-lcatin Service; 3.9.3 cnnecting t a backhaul service at the POI; r 3.9.4 by using the Direct Fibre Access Service t cnnect t Service Prvider equipment at a remte lcatin within the Central Office area. The lcatin f the POIs is detailed in the Operatins Manual appendices. Additinal Service Characteristics 3.10 The technical specificatin f the Bitstream 4 Service is set ut in Appendix B. 3.11 The LFC will prvide certain supprt and ther assistance as part f the Bitstream 4 Service including: 3.11.1 an autmated facility fr Service Requests; 3.11.2 an autmated facility fr fault ntificatins; and 3.11.3 a tl t assist the Service Prvider in determining the lcatin and availability f the Bitstream 4 Service (pre-qualificatin), each is mre particularly set ut in the Operatins Manual. 3.12 The Bitstream 4 Service specifically excludes: 3.12.1 the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service; 3.12.2 prvisin r maintenance f any cabling r cnnectin r active device: (a) beynd the Service Demarcatin Pints described in clauses 4.1 and 5.1; (b) between the jack terminating the LFC prvided Fibre Lead-in and the NID where that cabling r cnnectin is nt prvided by the LFC and the LFC has nt agreed t take respnsibility fr that cabling r cnnectin; 3.12.3 cnfiguratin, mnitring, peratin, n-ging supprt r maintenance f Service Prviders' r End Users applicatins, equipment r netwrks; and 3.12.4 supply f AC mains & UPS pwer, accmmdatin space, heating, ventilating, and air cnditining at the POI r End User Premises r Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable). 4 Service Demarcatin Pint at End User Premises r Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable) 4.1 The Service Demarcatin Pint at the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable) is, as applicable, either: 4.1.1 fr an RJ45 electrical interface the 100/1000/10GBase-T UNI n the NID; r 4.1.2 fr an ptic fibre glass nly interface the 100Base-FX /1000GBase-LX Layer 1 terminatin pint described in paragraph 3.3, as applicable. 4.2 The Bitstream 4 Service excludes the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP s (as applicable) wiring. If a fault reprted by the Service Prvider is fund t be caused by the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP s (as applicable) equipment (CPE) r the wiring at the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable) beynd the Service Demarcatin Pint, then the Service Prvider may be charged the N fault fund Ancillary Charge in the Price List. Nte the wiring shuld cmply with the industry standard Premises wiring requirements which are available at www.tcf.rg.nz. 5 Service Demarcatin Pint at POI 5.1 The Bitstream 4 Service is delivered as a transparent VLAN (the lgical service demarcatin pint) n the UFB Handver Cnnectin lcated at the POI r, using Tail Extensin, at anther handver pint. 5.2 The physical service demarcatin pint is the MOFDF in the POI which is part f the UFB Handver Cnnectin Service, r where Tail Extensin is used, anther handver pint. 5.3 The UFB Handver Cnnectin Service is a separate service and is a prerequisite t the supply f the Bitstream 4 Service i.e. the Service Prvider must first purchase and then maintain an UFB Handver Cnnectin Service at all times while taking the Bitstream 4 Service. 6 LFC and Service Prvider Respnsibilities 6.1 Other LFC and Service Prvider respnsibilities are detailed in the General Terms and the Operatins Manual. 7 Fibre Diversity 7.1 The Bitstream 4 Service prvides a single fibre between the LFC Central Office and the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable). 7.2 Diversity (a secnd r subsequent instance f the Bitstream 4 Service between the Fibre Access Pint and the Central Office) will be available t Pririty Users n request fr Premises lcated in majr health-care facilities, secndary r tertiary educatin centres, central business districts, industrial parks, business parks and strip malls. Diversity, as a standard prduct, may nt be available t Premises utside f these areas. Standard Installatin Charges and Service Levels d nt apply t the prvisin f diversity prducts that invlve diverse access t the End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable) r access t a Central Office that is nt the lcal Central Office. Each instance f the Bitstream 4 Service, primary and diverse, will be treated as an individual line fr the purpse f availability Service Levels. 7.3 Where available the diverse ptical paths will be in separate fibre cable sheaths, and if requested in separate cable rutes. The diverse cable rutes will be a minimum f the width f a street apart, and shuld nt share any manhles r access pints. Separate entries int the Central Office will als be used where available. 7.4 The Service Prvider can als request diverse access t End User Premises, Service Prvider Premises r NBAP (as applicable), r access t diverse Central Offices as part f a Nn-Standard Install; hwever this will nt be available in all cases. 7.5 Where practicable the LFC will als prvide diversity in situatins ther than thse listed in clause 7.2 n request as an additinal service. 7.6 There may be practical limitatins t prviding full physical diversity t sme sites. The prvisin f a separate entry t an LFC Central Office will have unique site specific engineering cnsideratins and may attract additinal csts. 8 Bitstream 4 Service Levels 8.1 Service Levels fr bth the Layer 1 and Layer 2 cmpnents f the Bitstream 4 Service are set ut in the Service Level Terms fr the Bitstream Services.
