PEUGEOT CONNECTED 3D NAVIGATION Instructions for updating your PEUGEOT Connected 3D Navigation software and mapping
1) Formatting the USB Key Use an empty USB key, with at least 16GB capacity. Mapping files are very large and can take significant time to download to your computer & upload to your car. We therefore highly recommend a USB key with 3.0 download speed. The USB key will need to be formatted. To format using Windows: a) Insert the USB key into the computer b) Click Open folder to view files, which should automatically appear when the USB key is inserted If this menu does not automatically appear, run File Explorer by pressing the Windows and E keys simultaneously c) Right-click on the name of the USB key that you have just inserted, under Computer in the File Explorer menu d) Left-click Format e) Ensure that the File system is FAT32 f) Left-click Start to proceed Caution: Formatting will erase all data on the USB key. Ensure that any data that you wish to retain on the USB key is backed up in another location.
2) Download the Software and/or Mapping Updates Software and/or Mapping Updates are accessed online. Vehicles may have only software updates available, only mapping updates, or both. a) Access http://www.peugeot.co.uk/servicing/map-system-updates/ using a computer. b) Enter your VIN to see if any updates are available for your vehicle. Your VIN is a 17 digit code of numbers & letters, found on your V5 registration document, or visible from outside your car, at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side. The VIN must be entered in UPPERCASE. c) If Software and/or Mapping updates are available, the website will show LATEST UPDATE(S) AVAILABLE. d) Download and save the available updates to your computer hard drive a maximum of three files for any one vehicle. We recommend you download the two software files first, and then the mapping file. Download Size Approximate Time Software Update* 2.5 GB 1 hour Software License 8 KB 20 seconds Map Update 8 GB 2 hours *A software license MUST accompany the software update Please Note: The download times above are approximate and dependant on internet connection.
3) Copying the Software Update to the USB Key The software and mapping updates will download into separate ZIP files. The files within the ZIP need to be extracted onto your computer hard drive before you copy them on to the USB key (due to file size allowances on FAT32 format). NOTE: The mapping and software updates will both extract into separate files named SWL. They should not be renamed the car only reads SWL files. You cannot have two folders with the same name on the same USB key. Updates must therefore be performed in two separate operations. The software update, if available, should always be performed first - anticipated extraction and transfer time (USB key with 3.0 speed): 10 minutes a) Right-click the software update ZIP file PSA_ovip-int-firmware. Select your extraction tool (e.g. 7-Zip, WinZip ) and click Extract Here, saving this onto your computer hard drive. b) Copy the extracted SWL file onto the empty USB key. c) Create a separate folder on the USB key called LICENSE please ensure this is spelt correctly as LICENSE a) Copy the license file onto the USB key into the LICENSE folder. The license file is not in ZIP format so does not need to be extracted. You should now have one SWL folder and one LICENSE folder on the USB key.
4) Updating the Software In-Car Anticipated upload time (USB key with 3.0 speed): 40 minutes. The engine must be running whilst the updates are installed. The vehicle should not be driven whilst the updates are installed. We recommend you disable the Stop & Start function via button on the dashboard/touchscreen this prevents the vehicle from going into standby. a) Save the extracted software SWL and license files on the USB key and insert into the vehicle USB port b) The initial message displayed will read No media content on the USB memory stick. Ignore this message and do not remove the USB Key this message will disappear after 10 seconds and will be replaced with step 1 (below). Follow the below instructions on the touch screen. 1 2 3 4 (System will restart) 5 6 7 (System will restart)
5) Copying the Mapping Update to the USB Key Once the software update has been completed in the vehicle (if required), the mapping update can now be performed. Remove the USB key from the vehicle and re-insert this into your computer. Anticipated extraction and transfer time (USB key with 3.0 speed): 10 minutes a) Delete all files from the USB key. b) Within the folder location on your computer where the ZIP files are saved, delete any existing SWL file extracted within this folder from the previous software update as you cannot have two SWL files saved into the same folder on your computer. c) Right-click the software update ZIP file PSA_map-eur. Select your extraction tool (e.g. 7-Zip, WinZip ) and click Extract Here, saving this onto your computer hard drive. d) Copy the extracted SWL file onto the empty USB key. You should now have one SWL folder on the USB key containing the mapping updates.
6) Updating the Mapping In-Car Anticipated upload time (USB key with 3.0 speed): 60 minutes. Keep the engine running and vehicle stationary, with Stop & Start still disabled. Do not start this process if you do not have the time to let it complete. a) Save the extracted mapping SWL file on the USB key and insert into the vehicle USB port b) The initial message displayed will read No media content on the USB memory stick. Ignore this message and do not remove the USB Key this message will disappear after 10 seconds and will be replaced with step 1 (below). Follow the below instructions on the touch screen. 1 2 3 4 (Tick the map-eur box first, then press install) 5 (After approx. 60 minutes) 6 (System will restart) 7 You may now remove the USB Key. The updates are now complete.
