The Goodbye key also exits an open list, such as the Options List, without saving changes Hold Key - Places an active call on hold. To retrieve a held call, press the Hold key again or press the Pickup softkey offered on the display. Options Key - Accesses allowable user definable options to customize your phone to your specific needs. If Advanced setting adjustments are necessary please contact our support team to assist with this request. Mute Key - Mutes the microphone so that your caller cannot hear you (the light indicator flashes when the microphone is on mute). Volume Controls - Adjusts the volume for the handset, ringer, and handsfree speakerphone. Callers List Key - Accesses a list of the last 200 calls received. Redial Key - Accesses a list of the last 100 previously dialed numbers. Pressing the Redial key twice redials the last dialed number. Line/Call Appearance Keys - Connects you to a line or call. The Aastra 6863i IP phone has two Line keys, each with LED indicator lights. Speaker Key - Transfers the active call to the speaker, allowing hands-free use of the phone. Directory Key - Accesses a directory of names and phone numbers (stored in alphabetical order). Transfer Key - Transfers the active call to another number. Navigation Keys/Select Button - Multi-directional navigation keys allow you to navigate through the phone s user interface. Pressing the center Select button selects/sets options and performs various actions (such as dialing out when in the Directory, Callers, and Redial Lists).

Features Basic Call Handling Features Making a Call 1. Dial the complete number from the keypad. 2. Lift the hand set, press a Line/Call Appearance Key or the Speaker Key. OR 1. Lift the hand set. 2. Dial the complete number from the keypad. 3. To send the call immediately, press # or just wait for the call to connect. Answering a Call Lift the handset OR For hands-free operation, press the Speaker Key or Line/Call Appearance Key for the incoming call. Redialing To call the most recently dialed number, press the Redial Key twice OR To call a previously dialed number: 1. Press the Redial Key once. 2. Use the Navigation Keys to scroll to the desired number. 3. Press the Select button or lift the hand set or press the Speaker Key or Line/Call Appearance Key. Ending a Call To end a call, replace the handset OR press the Good Bye Key. Advanced Call Handling Features Call Hold 1. To put a call on hold, press the Hold Key. 2. To retrieve the call, press the Hold Key again or press the flashing Line/Call Appearance Key. Call Waiting 1. Press the flashing Line/Call Appearance Key - the original call will automatically be placed on hold. 2. Toggle between the calls by pressing the Line/Call Appearance Key of each call. 3 Way Conferencing - NOT SUPPORTED on this phone model Call Transfer Unannounced (Blind) 3. Dial the number of the person you want to transfer the call to and press the Transfer Key again. Call Transfer Announced (Warm Transfer) 3. Dial the number of the person you want to transfer the call to and press #. 4. Announce the caller. 5. Press the Transfer Key again. Call Transfer Directly to Voicemail 3. Dial the assigned Voicemail trigger digit followed by the extension number you want to transfer the call to. 4. Press the Transfer Key again.

Call Forwarding Your phone system supports different types of Call Forwarding: Immediate, Busy, and No Answer. To enable and disable call forwarding: Go to the Call Manager Tab in CommPortal OR Using the Phone: Dial the Enable code for the type of call forwarding you want to set up followed by the number you wish to forward calls to. To disable call fowarding, dial the Disable code for that type of call forwarding. Type of forwarding Enable Code Disable Code Immediate *72 *73 Busy *90 *91 No Answer *92 *93 2 Way Intercom - NOT SUPPORTED on this phone model Call Park Enhanced Call Park is not supported on this phone model. To Park an active call: 1. Press the Transfer Key 2. Dial *53# and wait for the switch to tell you which park orbit the call was placed in 3. Press Transfer Key again to complete the park. To pick up a parked call: Dial *54XXX (where XXX is the park orbit number). DND Do Not Disturb To activate Do Not Disturb which forwards all calls to Voicemail, dial *78. To deactivate DND, dial *79. Please note: DND can also be activated and deactivated in your CommPortal web interface. Voicemail When you have one or more unheard voice messages, your phone will display a flashing red light in the upper right hand corner. To access voicemail: 1. Lift the hand set 2. Dial *99# 3. Enter your Voicemail PIN and press # From the Voicemail main menu: o To listen to your voice messages, Press 1 o To work with your greetings, Press 3 o To change mailbox settings, Press 4 While listening to a message: o To replay the message, Press 1 o To save the message, Press 2 o To delete the message, Press 3 Please Note: You may also access your voicemail visually using your CommPortal web interface

CommPortal CommPortal gives you a powerful and easy-to-use web interface for your phone settings. Logging In: 1. Go to https://myphone.ptldme.fpviper.com 2. Enter your 10-digit phone number 3. Enter your password Dashboard Page The dashboard displays new voice messages, recently received and missed calls, contacts, and settings you have applied to your phone. Messages & Calls Page The Messages tab displays new and saved voice messages. You can play, delete, or mark a message as heard/unheard, among other actions. Missed Calls, Dialed Calls, and Received Calls tabs show you all your recent call activity. Call Manager Page The Summary tab of Call Manager provides a description of what will happen to your incoming calls. Other tabs (or options on the Call Manager tab, depending upon seat type) allow you to change the settings of your call coverage, including Call Forwarding, Do Not Disturb, and SimRing Settings Page From the Settings page, you can manage your account security, phone settings, and set up voicemail to email, among other features. Change Password 1. Go to Settings page 2. In the Security section, click on the change link 3. Enter your current password 4. Enter your new password 5. Re-Enter your new password to Confirm 6. Click the Confirm button Change E911 Address Initial E911 address records are established by FairPoint at the time of installation based on the location your phone was installed. If you chose to relocate a phone, it is your responsibility to update the address. 1. Go to the Settings page. 2. Click on the set location link 3. Enter the address you have moved your phone to then click the Update Address button. 4. Entry of a valid address will result in a blue success message. An unrecognized address will result in a red failure message. Do not use this phone for emergency 911 calls until you have programmed a valid address. Configure Your Phone 1. Go to the Settings page. 2. Under Devices, click on the set keys link. 3. At the Manage Your Phone page, click the Edit button to view and update your phone s configuration. Set up Voicemail to Email 1. On the Settings page, go to the Messages tab. 2. Under the General section of the Messages tab, do the following: a. Click the link to add email address b. Enter your email address and click the Add button c. Check the check box next to Forward messages as emails d. If you want to continue to receive message waiting indicator light on your phone, check the check box next to Leave original in Inbox e. Click the Apply button.
