2. Product description Conductive point level switches are mainly for watching over of levels, full and empty monitoring and dry-running of pumps. The applications come down to pipes and basins for liquid media in connection with level point sensors like type SLR4X0. The parameter settings take place user friendly via Rotary- and DIPswitches at the device. Delivery contents Level Switch This operating instruction Further documents if applicable Operating principle Conductive level switches register fluid media (not for use in areas subject to the risk of explosion). This measurement procedure makes use of the resistance of conductive liquids with AC voltage between the electrodes of the sensor. The minimal conductance of the media must not come below 2 µs. 5

Type designation plate The type designation plate contains the main identification data Type and article designation Technical data Serial number Figure 3 3. Mounting and electrical installation Mechanical mounting Mounting without distance is only permitted in horizontal orientation. Figure 4 7
Electrical installation DANGER The device must be installed only by a qualified electrician. The national and international regulations for the installation of electrical systems of the relevant operator country apply. Power supply to DIN EN60664-1, SELV, PELV. Electrical connection via 4 terminal strips, 4 terminals each. Screws with pressure plate, finger safe. When mounting the connection cable please note the maximum torque of the screws of 0.5 Nm. The switch function is selectable via front-side DIP-switch. Connection diagram Figure 5 8
4. Operating elements and functions Type Power-LED Switch point Switch delay NO/NC function Operating mode Status indicator for outputs Description: Figure 6 LED Power: lights green if the device is supplied. LED Out 1 and Out 2: These LEDs indicate the status of outputs S1 (Out 1) and S2 (Out 2). Switch point kω: The switch point is switchable via 9 steps in the range of 0.05 kω (20 ms) to 500 kω (2 µs) to adapt the measured medium. The hysteresis amounts to 20 % of the switch point. Switch delay sec: To compensate fluctuant media levels, it is possibility to select the on- and off-delay time from 1 s to 10 s. NO/NC function S3 n.o. ; n.c. n.o. (normally open) = NO function n.c. (normally closed) = NC function 9
Operating mode Switch ; Win/Hyst. Operating mode Switch activates the appropriate switch output of the input. Operating mode Win/Hyst intertwines the inputs. The precondition is that the position of electrode 1 at input E1 must be below the position of electrode E2 at input E2. Win/Hyst realizes a window function for output 1 and a hysteresis function of output 2. Output 2 of the MLR120 retains the condition as long as both electrodes are uncapped (Out 2 = off) or capped (Out 2 = on). This function realizes level controlling. S1 = Out 1 (MLR120) S2 = Out 2 (MLR120) Figure 7 10
