Chapter 1: Welcome Welcome to CA Workload Automation Agent for Databases. This document includes information about changes to existing features, a complete list of fixed issues, supported platform information and system requirements, and known issues for this release, if any. Relevant documentation may also be included for significant fixes or changes. For the latest version of the 11.3 agent documentation including these Release Notes, visit the following link: https://supportcontent.ca.com/cadocs/0/ca%20workload%20automation%20system% 20Agent%20r11%203-ENU/Bookshelf.html Chapter 1: Welcome 7

Chapter 2: Known Issues The chapter details the known issues in CA WA Agent for Databases r11.3.4. This section contains the following topics: Overwriting of Triggers for the Same Operation on Sybase (see page 9) Cannot Run DB2 Stored Functions Using Stored Procedure Jobs (see page 9) Overwriting of Triggers for the Same Operation on Sybase On Sybase a database table can have up to three triggers, one for each operation: insert, update, and delete. Each new trigger in a table or column for the same operation overwrites the previous trigger. No warning messages are displayed before the trigger is overwritten. Therefore, when a Database Trigger job is running, the trigger can be overwritten by another trigger. As a result, the job waits forever for a notification from the overwritten trigger. Cannot Run DB2 Stored Functions Using Stored Procedure Jobs You cannot run DB2 stored functions (also called user-defined functions) directly using Stored Procedure jobs. However, you can include stored functions in SQL jobs. For example, the following SQL statement calls the TO_YEN stored function: SELECT TO_YEN(SALARY) FROM EMPLOYEE Chapter 2: Known Issues 9

Chapter 3: Fixed Issues The chapter details the issues that have been fixed in CA WA Agent for Databases r11.3.4. Security Concern with Destination File On UNIX, when the agent creates a destination file to store the output of an SQL job, the owner of the file is root. As a result, a malicious user could specify a destination file that overwrites important system files. To avoid this issue, you can remove the destination keyword from your existing job definitions. For example, on CA Workload Automation AE, you would remove the destination_file attribute. On CA Workload Automation ESP Edition, you would remove the OUTFILE statement. For new jobs, avoid using the destination keyword. Without the destination keyword, the output of the job is always stored in the spool file on the agent computer. Otherwise, you can force the agent to ignore the destination keyword by setting the following parameter to true in the agentparm.txt file: db.use.default.outfile Indicates whether to force the agent to store the results of the SQL query in the spool file on the agent computer. true false Forces the agent to store the results of the SQL query in the spool file. If an output file is specified in the SQL job definition, the agent ignores it. Does not force the agent to store the results of the SQL query in the spool file. If an output file is specified in the SQL job definition, the results are stored in the output file. Note: On UNIX, if the agent runs as root, the owner of the output file is also root. As a result, the output file can overwrite existing files. Default: false Chapter 3: Fixed Issues 11
