PST Admin for Outlook 2013 1 Populating Your Exchange Mailbox/Importing and Exporting.PST Files Use this guide to import data (Emails, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes) from your previous email provider into your Exchange mailbox. The following procedure moves Outlook data stored locally, (on your PC hard-drive or network) in a personal folder file (.pst), into your Exchange mailbox. Export Legacy Mailbox to a PST - Outlook 2013 1. Open Outlook 2013. 2. Select File. 3. Select Options: The Options dialog displays:
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 2 4. Select Advanced from the left side menu, and then click [Export]. The first dialog of the Import and Export wizard displays: 5. Select Export to a file and click [Next].
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 3 The next wizard dialog, Export to a File, displays: 6. Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click [Next]. The Export Outlook Data File dialog displays: (continued after the Public Folders subsection below)
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 4 NOTE: At this point, if you wish to export Public Folders, scroll down to select Public Folders from the list (see the example below). Be sure to Include subfolders. Click [Next]. Name the file in the Save exported file as field and click [Browse] to give it a home. Click [Finish] when complete. 7. Select the mailbox (top level folder) that you want to export. This enables the exporting of all mail, calendar, tasks, and notes (if available) for the account. NOTE: Only information for one account can be exported at a time. Ensure that the Include Subfolders checkbox is selected. 8. Click [Next].
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 5 The final dialog of the wizard displays: 9. Click [Browse] to find the location to which you would like to save the file, and then click [Finish]. The Create Outlook Data File dialog displays: 10. Enter a password, if you like, and click [OK]. OR To not create a password, leave the fields blank and click [OK].

PST Admin for Outlook 2013 7 4. Select Advanced from the left side menu, and then click [Export]. The first dialog of the Import and Export wizard displays:
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 8 5. Select Import from another program or file and then click [Next]. The next wizard dialog, Import a File, displays: 6. Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click [Next]. The next wizard dialog displays: 7. Click [Browse] to locate the file you would like to import, and then click [Open]. This populates the File to import field with the location of the file. 8. Click [Next]. The final wizard dialog displays:
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 9 (continued after the Public Folders subsection below) NOTE: At this point, if you wish to import Public Folders, find the Public Folders option in the Import items into the same folder in drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog (as pictured below). And continue on. 9. Expand the Outlook Data File (.pst), and select the folder to import or if the whole tree, leave the root folder highlighted. You may also want to check Include subfolders. Choose Import items into the current folder if you were on the intended folder to receive this data, or Import items into the same folder if the data is going into your mailbox (or your Public Folders or any other PST you may have there). 10. Click [Finish].
PST Admin for Outlook 2013 10 NOTE: If a password was assigned to the Outlook Data File (.pst), enter the password when prompted and click [OK]. TIP: If you want to import or restore only a few items from an Outlook Data File (.pst), an easier way is to open the Outlook Data File; then, in the Navigation Pane, click and drag the items from Outlook Data File folders to your existing Outlook folders.
