18W Round LED Bulkhead Light with Microwave Sensor Model: LEDLRIP18WHMS Installation & Operating Instructions

1 1. General Information These instructions should be read carefully and retained for further reference and maintenance. 2. Safety Before installation or maintenance, ensure the mains supply to the luminaire is switched off and the circuit supply fuses are removed or the circuit breaker turned OFF. It is recommended that a qualified electrician is consulted or used for the installation of this luminaire and install in accordance with the current IEE wiring and Building Regulations. Check that the total load on the circuit including when this luminaire is fitted does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse or circuit breaker. Do not dismantle the lamp or unscrew the LED board, this will affect the heat distribution and reduce the lifespan of the LED luminaire. Never clean with a damp cloth whilst the luminaire is switched ON.

2 3. Technical Specifications 230V AC 50 Hz This luminaire is of class II construction and must not be earthed 18W LED Non-replaceable lamp Energy efficiency: Energy Usage: Lumen Output: Colour Temperature: Operating Temperature: Detection Angle: Class A 18KwH/1000H 1100lm 4000K 0ºC to +40ºC 360 ceiling, 180 wall Detection Range Adjustment: 1m to 8m (at a mounting height of 2.5m) Time On Adjustment: Lux Range Adjustment: Installation: 5 seconds to 15 minutes 2 to 50 lux Ceiling or Wall IP65 Rated suitable for internal use or for restricted external applications CE Compliant Dimensions: Mounting Centres: 300mm diameter x 80mm 145mm

4. Installation 4.1 Ensure the mains supply is switched off and the circuit supply fuses are removed or the circuit breaker turned off. 4.2 An isolating switch should be installed to the switch the power ON and OFF to the luminaire. This allows the unit to be easily switched OFF for maintenance purposes. 4.3 Rotate the bezel anti-clockwise, so that the 3 lugs on the bezel match the gaps on the back case. This will allow you to lift and remove the bezel entirely. 3 4.4 Turn the fastener on the back case 90 degrees so that it matches the slot. This will release the hinged gear tray. 4.5 Carefully lift the hinged gear tray to reveal the connection terminal and mounting holes. Note: There is provision for 4 mounting holes which will need to be drilled out before you can mount the luminaire. 4.6 Mark the position of the mounting holes on the ceiling or wall using the back case as a template, and drill the holes ensuring not to infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables that may be hidden below the surface. Insert the rawl plugs into the holes. 4.7 Pass the 230V AC 50Hz mains supply cable through the cable entry point on the back case, ensuring the grommet is used to maintain the IP rating of the luminaire.

4.8 Fix the luminaire to the ceiling or wall using the correct screws for the rawl plugs installed. 4.9 Terminate the mains supply cable into the terminal block (See section 5. Connection Diagram) ensuring correct polarity is observed and that all bare conductors are sleeved. 4 4.10 Position the hinged gear tray over the fastener, and rotate it 90 degrees so that it locks the gear tray to the back case. 4.11 Reposition the bezel over the back case, and rotate it fully clockwise to secure.

5. Connection Diagram Connect the 230V AC 50Hz mains supply cable to the terminal block as follows; 230V AC 50Hz MAINS SUPPLY N L ISOLATION SWITCH N L 5 Live (Brown or Red) Neutral (Blue or Black) L N

6 6. Setting Up & Testing Walk Test The adjustable DIP switches are factory set to Walk Test mode i.e. Detection Area set to 100%, the Hold Time set to the minimum of 5 seconds and the Daylight Sensor set to Disable. Turn the power to the unit ON. The luminaire will immediately turn ON as the unit goes through its warm-up period. After approximately 10 seconds the light will extinguish. This indicates the luminaire is wired correctly and the unit is in Walk Test mode. Try to remain out of the area of detection during the warm-up period. The luminaire will now operate during daytime as well as at night, turning ON for approx. 5 seconds each time the sensor is activated. This allows testing to be carried out to establish whether the microwave sensor is covering the required area. Walk around the luminaire to establish the detection area. The microwave sensor will detect within an 8m diameter (approximately) from the centre of the luminaire location when mounted at a 2.5m height. As you cross a detection zone the luminaire will turn ON. Now stand still until the luminaire extinguishes (this should take approx. 5 seconds). Start moving again after 2 seconds. As you cross each zone the luminaire will turn ON. Repeat the above, walking at various distances and angles to the luminaire. This will help you to confirm the detection pattern. Setting Up for Automatic Operation When walk tests are complete, the luminaire can be adjusted for automatic operation. Ensure the power to the luminaire is switched OFF, and remove the bezel from the back case using step 4.3 as detailed in section 4. Installation. Turn the fastener on the back case 90 degrees so that it matches the slot. This will release the hinged gear tray. Carefully lift the hinged gear tray to access the DIP switches.

The Detection Area setting controls determines the range of detection. 100% DIP switches 1, 2 ON 75% DIP switch 1 ON DIP switch 2 OFF 50% DIP switch 1 OFF DIP switch 2 ON 10% DIP switches 1, 2 OFF Adjust the range of detection by moving the positions of the DIP switches as advised below (this information is also printed on the LED Board above the DIP switches); Note: Up is ON, Down is OFF. 7 The Hold Time setting controls how long the luminaire remains ON following activation and after all motion ceases. 5 seconds DIP switches 3, 4 ON 90 seconds DIP switch 3 ON DIP switch 4 OFF 5 minutes DIP switch 3 OFF DIP switch 4 ON 15 minutes DIP switches 3, 4 OFF Adjust the ON time by moving the positions of the DIP switches as advised below;

The Daylight Sensor setting determines the level of darkness required for the luminaire to start operating. Adjust the LUX level by moving the positions of the DIP switches as advised below; Note: 50 Lux and 10 Lux is twilight operation, 2 Lux is darkness operation only. Disable means the luminaire will switch ON when motion is detected regardless of the ambient light level. 8 Disable DIP switches 5, 6 ON 50 Lux DIP switch 5 ON DIP switch 6 OFF 10 Lux DIP switch 5 OFF DIP switch 6 ON 2 Lux DIP switches 5, 6 OFF Once you have adjusted the luminaire to the desired settings, position the hinged gear tray over the fastener, and rotate it 90 degrees so that it locks the gear tray to the back case. Secure bezel over the back case using step 4.11 as detailed in section 4. Installation. Switch the power to the luminaire ON.
