Onboarding FAQ The onboarding process gives students the opportunity to make sure everything is working correctly during lowpressure circumstances. It also gives students time to make any changes to their system well before the first exam. Best practices dictates this should be completed by all students at least one week prior to the first exam in the course. 1) Prepare your testing environment Ensure your face is clearly visible No bathroom breaks Once the session is started, you may not leave the camera view. Create the proper lighting The room must be well-lit to avoid a violation. Turn off noise making devices Mobile phones on vibrate setting still emit detectable sound. Stay Within Webcam Frame Even stretching, looking away or leaning down to pick up your pencil could flag your test. Use a private testing area If other people are around you, you could be disqualified. 2) What forms of ID are acceptable? Passport Driver s License Government issued ID Official Student ID
3) How do I access the onboarding video Students can fail onboarding for the following reasons: Facial scan missing or insufficient ID scan missing or insufficient ID scan shows invalid ID Knuckle scan missing or insufficient Environment lighting insufficient How it works? Sign into Blackboard using your Purdue Career account. Then select the course in which you need to take the online exam just as you would access any of your My Courses. Inside your course you will see displayed a list of proctored quizzes. Select the quiz you are suppose to attempt. Click here to access the Onboarding Quiz (via Proctortrack). Click Select. There will be a Launch button that will appear, but the system will Launch itself. Read the How it works page. More will be revealed after scrolling down. At the bottom of the page, click on Go to Next Step.
While scrolling through the Let s Get Started page, look over Proctortrack s guidelines for an ideal test-taking environment. These practices are a great way to secure an accurate assessment and credit for honesty shown during the test. After getting familiar with Proctortrack, check the box labeled I have read, understand and will adhere to the required environment guidelines. (1) Then click Go To Next Step. (2) Once you click on Go to Next Step, you are forwarded to the Download page. If the app is already downloaded, it should run automatically. If the app is not downloaded then click on the download link to download the app and run it. Once Start is clicked, a system check will run to verify that the system is ready. Make sure to fill the frame before clicking Scan. After that, follow the on-screen prompts. If dissatisfied with the scans, click Re-Scan (1) to rewrite the them by taking new ones. Otherwise, click Confirm (2) to move on.
For the ID scan, hold a valid photo ID up to the camera and click S c an. Make sure to fit the ID within the frame and hold it steady so that it s clear. Click Re-Scan (1) as many times as needed or click Confirm (2) to proceed. For the knuckle scan, choose Left or Right Hand, hold the back of either hand up to the webcam and try to fit it within the frame. Click Scan. Once the scan is complete, click Re-Scan (1) if the scan is too blurry. Otherwise, click Confirm (2) to complete the identification process. Check the box labeled I agree to the terms and conditions (1). After that, provide a digital signature in the text box (2). When the digital signature matches the name given, the Confirm (3) button will turn blue. Click it. On the next page, click on Begin Proctoring.
Proctoring has now begun. A blue border will be placed around the screen as a reminder that Proctortrack is now in session. Blackboard will be brought to the forefront of the screen and a prompt for a password should appear. By hovering the cursor near to the top of the screen, an additional gray bar will be brought down. That bar will provide the Access Code (1), which can then be entered into the textbox for password (2) in Blackboard. Once it is, click Submit (3) to start quiz. Take the test as per normal while adhering to the aforementioned guidelines. While taking the test, feel free to move the camera feed (1) anywhere on the screen so that it stays out of the way of important functionality. After the test, it s important to remember to click Save and Submit (2) before clicking End (3).
Check the box next to Yes, I have submitted my exam. (1), as well as the one labeled Yes, I have completed my exam. (2). Finally, click End Proctoring (3). The session data will be automatically uploaded to Proctortrack. The test session is complete! Either button seen here will close Proctortrack. Proctortrack will have to be run before each proctoring-enabled test. Click Close Window (1) to save the application for use with later tests, and click Uninstall Application (2) to remove Proctortrack from the current machine. Keep in mind that an opportunity to download Proctortrack will be given before each proctoring-enabled test.
