VR2 Codes Display and Code description
NOTE: A Complete Description Taken from the official PG Drives Engineering Manual is described on the next 3 pages
TRIP CODE Details from Page listing Trip Code 1-1 Bar Flash Low Battery Voltage 2C00 2C02 This occurs when the control system detects that the battery voltage has fallen below 16 V. Check the condition of the batteries and the connections to the control system. If the trip still is present after the batteries and connections have been checked then the Power Module may be defective. In the case of 2C02 the control system is making a log of the times the Low Battery lockout has occurred. Trip Code 2 2 bar Flash Left Motor or Motor 1 Motor Fault 3B00 This occurs when the control system has detected a Left or Motor 1 has become disconnected. Check wiring connections motor resistance should be low resistance of less than 1 ohm. A quick test is to exchange motor leads from Left to Right and see if problem changes or still exists. If after connection and resistance checks are found to be good replace out control module. If motor fault changes to opposite side check brushes. Trip Code 3 3 Bar Flash Left or Motor 1 Shorted Connection - 3D00 3D01 This occurs when motor control detects a short to the Left or Motor 1 connection. Check wiring for damage or short to battery connection if wiring checks out could be control module. Replace out control module in this case. Trip Code 4 4 Bar Flash Right or Motor 2 Motor Fault 3C00 This occurs when the control system has detected a Right or Motor 2 has become disconnected. Check wiring connections motor resistance should be low resistance of less than 1 ohm. A quick test is to exchange motor leads from Right to Left and see if problem changes or still exists. If after connection and resistance checks are found to be good replace out control module. If motor fault changes to opposite side check brushes. Trip Code 5 5 Bar Flash Right or Motor 2 Shorted Connection - 3E00 3E01 This occurs when motor control detects a short to the Right or Motor 2 connection. Check wiring for damage or short to battery connection wiring checks out could be control module. Replace out control module in this case. Trip Code 6 6 Bar Flash Charging or Inhibit line 1E03 1E05 This occurs when motor control detects inhibit line is active and gives a scrolling detail usually due to charger plugged in while chair powered up. Inhibit line is active whenever a 1E is seen in the code 02 is used on Control Module 03 on Joystick port.
Trip Code 7 Joystick internal fault or loss of Communication - 7100 7104 & 5400 This occurs when the joystick has a fault or loses communication with motor control module. 7100-7101 Loss of comms to Joystick check wiring and ribbon connector to main joystick board and mating socket 7102 Loss of Power to Joystick - check wiring and ribbon connector to main joystick board and mating socket. 7103-7104 Internal Trip check wiring and ribbon connector to main joystick board and check ribbon between display and board. Make sure all internal connections are good. 5400 Communication loss this code will be denoted with 7 flashing lights and Mode light 5 flashing as well. Try changing out wiring harness. Joystick Displaced at Power Up Display will flash 7 Bars shortly 2F00 This is corrected by user if they let go when power is first turned on. If this continues could be internal gimble. If Joystick is displaced there is a 5 second window where if it is let go it will operate properly if flashing occurs and after 5 seconds 7 Bar Flash will occur. The Gimble or Actual joystick is a replaceable part found in parts manual. Trip Code 8 Control System Fault 1802-3600 1302 all others 4401 This occurs when the control has an internal fault all wiring should be checked leading to control if all is good the control should be changed. Trip Code 8 with Actuator Light Flash - 7A03 This occurs when control system detects a fault with the Actuator Wiring. This will show 8 bars and the Actuator lights flashing on Joystick. Correct wiring or replace out actuator is action necessary. Trip Code 9 Brake Solenoid Fault 1505-1506 This occurs when control does not see good resistance or connector to brake input of motor control. Check brake resistance and connection to control module. If all are good then control module may need to be replaced. Trip Code 10 10 Bar Flash High Battery Code - 1600 This occurs when Battery Voltage is near or above 35 volts often occurs when charging batteries and power is on. The batteries wiring and charger all need to be checked over if this occurs. If all are fine replace out control module. (Next Page other Possible Faults)
Current Limit Active This occurs when the control system is operating above the Current Limit Threshold for a period of time greater than the Current Limit time. High Temperature (7902) This occurs when the control system reaches its Temperature Threshold and thus becomes too hot. The controller goes out of drive into standby to allow the controller to cool down. Speed Indicator / Profile Flashes This occurs when chair is Speed Limited for some safety reason and usually if set is in decreased speed due to normally angle of actuators on our chairs. Speed Profile Indicator Ripples up and Down This occurs when chair is locked out and the main 10 segment display is not lit either. To unlock give a forward command listen for audible repeat in reverse with audible and this should unlock and go back to normal operation. If this does not work try unplugging power connection and if still there replace out either Joystick or Control.
