Chapter 1 Introduction Overview This manual explains how to run workstation setup for version 9.5.x of the following Newmarket International products: Delphi Select Edition Delphi Single-Property Edition Delphi Multi-Property Edition Delphi Select Multi-Property Edition Delphi Global Sales Edition If you have any problems during the workstation setup, contact Newmarket Support at 603-427-6400. Installation Requirements Before starting you must perform the following: You must have local administrator rights to the client system. Make sure that Internet Explorer Version 6.0 SP1 or later is installed on the workstation. Make sure that you have the correct permissions to the Delphi Share directory on the program server, and have a drive mapped to it (N: drive is recommended). Make sure the workstation s monitor resolution is set to 1024X768 or higher. Close all Windows programs on the workstation before starting the setup program. If the merge function is to be used, Microsoft s Word and Excel versions 2003, or 2007 must be installed on the workstation. Note: In order for the merge feature to work properly, macro security must be set to Medium or Low. Merge does not work if the macro security is set to High. See Appendix A Setting Macro Security on page 12 for instructions. Installation Checklists Complete the procedures below, depending on your specific installation scenario. New Installation of 9.5.x Run workstation setup on the new workstation. See Procedure 2 Delphi Workstation Setup on page 7. Upgrading from Version 7.x Remove the User DSN if it exists using the steps below. 1. On all workstations that are being upgraded from 7.1.3b, the User DSN must be deleted if it exists. 2. From Start, click Run. 3. In the Open box, type odbcad32 and click OK. 4. Click the NSS-MSSQL Data Source to highlight it, and click Remove. 5. When prompted, Are you sure you want to remove the NSS-MSSQL data source, click Yes. 6. Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator. Run workstation setup on a workstation where Delphi is upgraded from 7.1.x or an earlier version. See Procedure 2 Delphi Workstation Setup on page 7. Upgrading from Version 9.x or Later Delphi Upgraded on Same Server If you have upgraded from Delphi version 9.x or later, on the same server, the workstation update starts automatically the first time Delphi is launched when you have remapped the appropriate drive from the NGS share to the new 9.5.2 Delphi share on the server. See Procedure 1 Updating a Delphi Workstation on page 13. Delphi Upgraded on New Server If you have upgraded from Delphi version 9.x or later, on a new server, the workstation setup program needs to be run. See Procedure 2 Delphi Workstation Setup on page 7. New Installation of Delphi Diagrams If you have installed Delphi Diagrams for the first time on the server, the workstation needs to be configured. See Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation on page 9. Upgrade of Delphi Diagrams If you have upgraded from a previous version of Delphi Diagrams, uninstall the current version of Delphi Diagrams. Chapter 2 Workstation Setup Procedures 1. Updating a Delphi Workstation 1. At the workstation, double-click the Newmarket product icon. A message appears informing you that the Delphi application on this workstation needs to be updated. 2. Click OK. The workstation update proceeds and the following message appears. Click Yes. 3. Click Yes. 2. Delphi Workstation Setup This procedure explains how to setup a client workstation to run Newmarket 9.5.x products on a computer running Windows XP, 2003, 2008 or Vista. The workstation setup program also lets you enable email functionality, DelphiSync and MarketVision. To enable email, you must have already configured email on the server. Assumptions This procedure assumes that the program server is configured to run Newmarket 9.5x products, and the workstation installation requirements outlined in Installation Requirements on page 1 have been met. Steps To run the workstation setup program: 1. Map a network drive from the workstation to the Delphi directory on the Application server. Note: Newmarket suggests that you select drive N. 2. In the Setup\Delphi Workstation Setup directory, double-click Setup.exe. Note: If Microsoft.Net Framework 3.0 is not installed on your workstation, you receive a prompt informing you that Microsoft.Net Framework 3.0 is about to be installed. Once it installs, you will be prompted to restart setup. 3. 4. In the Software License Agreement window, click Next. 5. In the Supporting Applications window, select the desired peripherals and click Next. 6. In the Select Program Folder window, click Next, if desired specify a different Program folder and click Next. 7. In the Create Shortcuts window, accept the defaults of specify where shortcuts should be created and click Next. 8. In the Start configuring Delphi Workstation window, confirm the Current Settings and Click Next. 9. Once the Installation Complete window appears, click Close. 10. In the InstallShield Wizard Complete window, select Finish. 11. If you installed DelphiSync during the workstation setup you must configure Outlook for DelphiSync. See Appendix B and follow the steps in the section Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync. 12. If necessary, restart your workstation. 13. If Delphi Diagrams is also installed, you must also configure the workstation setup for Delphi Diagrams. Proceed to Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation on page 9. Set Data Execution Prevention To use the application, at a minimum, DEP (Data Execution Protection) on the client will need to be set to Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select and you must add the exclusion for Delphi and Delphi Diagrams when installed. 1. Right On My Computer. 2. Go to the Advanced tab. 3. In the Performance area Click the Settings button. 4. In Performance Options Click the Data Execution Prevention tab. 5. If Turn on DEP for essential programs and services only is selected there is no need to make a change. You may cancel out of any open windows. Otherwise, continue with the next step. 6. Click the Add Button. 7. In the Open window browse to the location of where Delphi is being run from. Typically, this is C:\Program Files\Newmarket International\Delphi\EXE. Find the file Newmarket.Application.Delphi.exe, select it and click Open. 8. Click Apply, then OK, the OK once more on the System Properties window. For each client using Word 2007, when Delphi IS NOT mapped to N: If a site does not have their drive letter mapped to N:, do the following: 1. Click the Word button. 2. Click Word Options. 3. Select Advanced. 4. Scroll down to the General section. 5. Click File Locations. 6. Select Workgroup templates. 7. Click Modify. 8. Browse to the network share and choose the EXE path. 9. Click OK on both the File Locations and the Word Options screens. 10. Close Word. Configuring the Workstation for Delphi Diagrams If you have Delphi Diagrams installed, after you have run workstation setup for the Delphi 9.x application, you need to configure the workstation for Delphi Diagrams. If you have a new Delphi Diagrams application installed, skip Procedure 4 Uninstall Delphi Diagrams on page 15 and proceed to Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation on page 16. If an existing version of Delphi Diagrams was upgraded, you must first uninstall the older version of Delphi Diagrams, then install the new version. If Delphi Diagrams was installed for the first time, proceed to Procedure 4 Uninstall Delphi Diagrams on page 15. 3. Uninstall Delphi Diagrams Note: This procedure is to be performed only if upgrading an existing Delphi Diagrams version. If installing Delphi Diagrams for the first time, skip this procedure and proceed to Procedure 5 Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation on page 16. 1. From Start, click Control Panel. 2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs. 3. Scroll to Delphi Diagrams and click Change / Remove. 4. Select Uninstall, Next, and Finish. 5. Scroll to DD Connector and click Change / Remove. 6. Select Uninstall, Next, and Remove All. 4. Install Delphi Diagrams on Workstation 1. On a workstation mapped to Delphi, run Setup.exe from the <Mapped Drive>:\Diagrams\Install folder. For example if drive N: is mapped to NGS, browse to N:\Diagrams\Install folder and double-click Setup.exe. The Welcome Window appears. 2. Click Next. The Delphi Diagrams Installation Information window appears. 3. Click Next. The Customer Information window appears. 4. Enter your user name and click Next. The Choose Destination for Setup window appears. 5. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the location where you want Setup to install the files, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default. The Choose Destination for Shared files window appears. 6. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the mapped drive on the client that points to the Delphi folder, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default. The Setup Type window appears. 7. This opens the Select Program Folders window. 8. Type or select a program folder where you want to install the program icons, and then click Next. The Setup Status window appears. When the program files installation is complete, a prompt appears asking if you want to view the Guest Event Management (GEM) module setup instructions. 9. (Optional) Click Yes to view the instructions. The Data Link window appears where you connect to the G.E.M. database, as well as instructions to guide you through connecting to the G.E.M. database. 10. 11. Double-click OS32Data.mdb. 12. Click Test Connection. When you successfully connect to the G.E.M. database, a Test connection succeeded prompt appears. 13. Click OK. Note: If the connection does not succeed, click the ellipses again to browse to the correct location. 14. In the Data Link window, click OK. The InstallShield Wizard Complete window appears. 15. Appendix A Setting Macro Security In order for the merge feature to work properly in Word 2003 and 2007, macro security must be set to Medium or Low. Merge does not work if the macro security is set to High. If you set macro security to Medium, you will be prompted to enable or disable macros each time you merge a document. When prompted, you must select enable. If you select Low, you will not be prompted each time you merge a document. If you have virus scanning software installed and updated, setting the macro security to Low may be the most appropriate. Setting Macro Security for Word 2003 1. Open Microsoft Word. 2. From Tools, point to Macro, and click Security. 3. Under Security Level, select the Medium or Low option. 4. Click OK and close Word. Setting Macro Security for Word 2007 1. On the Toolbar click the Start button and from the menu click Word Options. 2. In the Menu on the left side Choose Trust Center. 3. In the Menu on the left side Choose Macro Settings. 4. Appendix B DelphiSync Installation and Configuration If DelphiSync was not installed when Workstation Setup was run on your workstation, you can install and configure DelphiSync at a later time. Installation Requirements Before installing DelphiSync, the following requirements must be met: You must have local administrator rights to the client system. Outlook 2003 or 2007 client must be previously installed and working on your workstation. Ensure that Outlook is closed and not running prior to installing DelphiSync. Installing DelphiSync Components on your Workstation 1. Verify that you have exited Microsoft Outlook, and disconnected all mobile devices that synchronize with Outlook. 2. Browse to the Delphi share (typically mapped to N:). 3. Look for the folder named OutlookIntegrationSetup\Workstation, open it, and launch the DelphiSync.msi file within. The About to Install DelphiSync window appears. 4. Click Next. The Welcome to the Newmarket DelphiSync Setup Wizard appears. 5. Click Next. 6. The Select Installation Folder window appears. See screen shot below. 7. If you want to change the location where DelphiSync will be installed, click the Browse button. 8. Select who is to have access to DelphiSync on this computer: either Everyone or Just me. Note: If you are not logged on as the normal user of the workstation, select Everyone. The Confirm Installation window appears. 9. Click Next. 10. Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync You must now configure Outlook for DelphiSync. 1. Open Outlook. Click the DelphiSync button on the Microsoft Outlook toolbar. The Delphi Login window appears. Note: If you are a view-only user in Delphi, you cannot complete the login to DelphiSync. Also, before using DelphiSync an Delphi users in the Administrator or Director role must enable your login. 2. In the Web Service URL box, enter the URL where the web service is installed, using the following syntax: http://<ip Address>/DelphiSync where: <IP Address> is server name or IP address of the Web Server where the service is installed, in many cases the Delphi database server. For Example http: //WEBSERVER/DelphiSync 3. Click OK. Appendix C Customizing Delphi Setup Installation Delphi Workstation setup can be customized to show setup options or suppress them. The values are found in file install.ini in the Delphi Workstation Setup folder. Values can be written to entries in these sections to control the operation of Delphi Workstation Setup by forcing the selection of options and suppressing the display of screens. Section Entry Description [SkipScreens] UpgradeMessage When Delphi Workstation Setup is run on a machine where it has already been run before, a message is displayed informing the user that Delphi will be upgraded or updated giving the user the (Yes or No) option to continue. This entry controls the display of the confirmation message. Specify 1 to suppress the message. Omit the value to display the message. Summary This entry controls the display of the Summary screen which allows the user to review selections just before the configuration process begins. Specify 1 to suppress the screen. Omit the value to display the screen. License This entry controls the display of the License screen which is displayed at the beginning of the setup process. Specify 1 to suppress the screen. Omit the value to display the screen. By suppressing the screen you are accepting the license agreement on behalf of all users installing the Delphi Workstation in your environment. DelphiSyncInstructions When DelphiSync is selected for installation on the Workstation, a screen is displayed instructing the user to close Microsoft Outlook and disconnect mobile devices that sync with Outlook before proceeding. This entry controls the display of this screen. Specify 1 to suppress the screen. Omit the value to display the screen. Finish This entry controls the display of the Finish screen which indicates that the configuration process is complete. Specify 1 to suppress the screen. Omit the value to display the screen. [Shortcuts] Desktop This entry controls the option given to users to create a Delphi shortcut on the workstation desktop. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the creation of a desktop icon. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT create a desktop icon. Omit the value to display the option to the user. QuickLaunch This entry controls the option given to users to create a Delphi shortcut on the QuickLaunch bar on the workstation. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the creation of a QuickLaunch icon. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT create a QuickLaunch icon. Omit the value to display the option to the user. suppress the Create Shortcuts screen. AppFolderName This entry controls the name of the Start menu program folder where the Delphi shortcut is created on the Workstation. The default name for the program folder is Newmarket International. If a value is specified for this entry, the value will be used to create the program folder, and the Select Program Folder screen will be suppressed. [ThirdPartyApps] DelphiSync This entry controls the option given to users to configure DelphiSync client components on the workstation. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the configuration of DelphiSync on the workstation. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT configure DelphiSync on the workstation. Omit the value to display the option to the user. MarketVision This entry controls the option given to users to configure MarketVision client components on the workstation. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the configuration of MarketVision on the workstation. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT configure MarketVision on the workstation. Omit the value to display the option to the user.
