Installation Guide for Vodafone Cordless SIM insertion Installing Vodafone Cordless is very simple. Find all the steps you need to take in this guide, plus an explanatory video for you too. To start, you need to insert the SIM: a. remove the cover on the back of the Vodafone Cordless base to access the SIM housing; b. it unlocks and then lifts the SIM insertion guide, as shown in the figure; c. insert the SIM * in the correct way, in the direction shown in the figure and slide it into the appropriate seat, until it is completely inserted; d. close the SIM housing, making sure that it has been blocked properly; e. connect the battery correctly oriented until it is fully inserted and place the battery in the compartment, as shown in the figure; f. close the housing using the previously removed cover. * Once the SIM is already be inserted, check that it is correctly positioned in the appropriate housing. NOTE: Insert the SIM into the appropriate slot, it must be done before connecting the base to the electrical outlet. Connect the cables 1) If you want to use the Vodafone cordless with your landline as well as with GSM SIM card, then you will need to connect the phone both to electrical outlet and to a telephone socket. This way you can use the Phone to receive phone calls both on your Land line number and your mobile number. NOTE: Outgoing calls will only be through your Mobile SIM card number. You cannot make outgoing calls from your Land line number but you can receive incoming calls from the Land line.
2) Once SIM card is inserted, Insert the included battery and connect the Vodafone Cordless to the electrical outlet to start making calls. To use your Land line, Connect the RJ11 telephone cable supplied with this phone to your phone and the other end to an active land line wall socket to start using the phone. Follow the simple steps as shown in the figure: 1) Unplug your old phone from the telephone socket. Take the cable marked as from the box and insert it into the wall socket and the other end marked as on the back panel of the Vodafone Cordless base. 2a. If you have a three-pin socket (European Countries), first connect the adapter to the socket and then insert the telephone cable into the three-pole adapter. 2b. If you do not have a three-pin socket but a direct telephone socket, connect the other end of the cable directly to the socket. In this way you can receive and make calls directly on your Vodafone Cordless from your SIM card. Please Note that you can receive calls from both your land line number and your mobile SIM card number but you can only make outgoing calls from your Mobile SIM card number. Connect to the Power The Vodafone Cordless is equipped with a battery. Please make sure the battery is inserted to the phone base before you connect the Base unit to Power socket. This battery is a backup option in the event of a power failure. The base of the Vodafone Cordless only works with the supplied battery. To connect the Vodafone Classic to electric, follow these simple instructions: Take the supplied power supply from the box and insert the plug into the "Power" socket on the back. Hook the pedestal to the base as shown in the figure above, passing the cables over the pedestal itself. Connect the power supply to a wall outlet.
In case of prolonged power failure, you can switch off the base of your Vodafone Cordless by removing the electrical outlet from the wall and pressing the on / off button on the back of the base itself. If you want to turn on the base of the Vodafone Cordless again, just reconnect the power supply or press the same button again. Troubleshooting Problem Detail The phone shows SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE on the screen when I turn on the Phone. Verifications and Actions This does not affect the phones functionality in anyway. This message shows only because these phones were made initially to work with only Vodafone Italy SIM card but they are now unlocked and all services work fine. Please ignore this message. The phone does not Send SMS Text Messages These phones do not send SMS Text messages. The feature was disabled by Vodafone. The phone does have reception when I insert some SIM cards like 3UK SIM card. The Vodafone Classic is a GSM Phones and operates only on the GSM Frequencies: GSM/GPRS:900/1800/1900mhz. These phones will only work with GSM networks. 3UK is the only SIM card we are aware of that it will not work with in the UK. Can I replace the Backup Battery of this phone? Yes, you can replace the backup battery of this phones. The Handset will work with most AAA 400mAh - 650mAh rechargeable batteries. The Base unit will work with any 3.6V/3.7V Ni-Mh Rechargeable battery cell with 3 Wire Connection. The screen display does not light up after the phone is turned on (my Phone not is connected to the power supply) Verify that the battery is installed correctly. If the battery level is low, connect your Vodafone Cordless to the power supply. The audio is not optimal or clear during a conversation. In this case: try to place Vodafone Cordless where there is a better signal coverage of the Vodafone network (for example near a window). Poor signal can affect how clear the audio is check that the telephone cable is correctly connected to the Vodafone Cordless; Remember that to get the best signal quality, it is best to place your phone at least 50 cm away from the Vodafone Cordless and away from electrical appliances (EG microwave ovens). If someone calls my landline, not all extra landline phones ring Check that you have connected your phones to your Vodafone Cordless correctly.
The screen display does not light up after the phone is turned on (my Phone is not connected to the power supply) I cannot complete the dialling before the call starts? Verify that the battery is installed correctly. If the battery level is low, connect your Vodafone Cordless to the power supply. In this case you need to increase the number dialling time before the phone makes the call. If you have Vodafone Cordless: Access the Menu Base > Select the Dialling Waiting Time Select the value 5 seconds using the arrow keys on the keyboard and press OK The phone does not ring when a call is coming in Make sure the phone is not in Silence Mode. Check ringing volume from Settings > Sound > Ringing Tone > Volume and make sure that the volume is not in Silence. When connected to the telephone wall socket, the Phone no longer gives the dial tone. It is likely that your SIM card is not active. Make sure you have an active SIM card inserted. Without an active SIM card, the phone will not work Also: check that the Vodafone Cordless is correctly connected to the electrical outlet; check that the SIM is correctly inserted in the dedicated slot and enabled for the service. Change Phone Language To Change the Language of the Phone from Italian to English or vies vasa: On the Handset Press the Menu button or the Middle OK button to get to the Menu.
