SD9 Update 1.1.2 Half Bar This function has been modified as such: if pressed during the first half of the measure, the 1/2 bar fill is heard during the current measure. However if pressed during the 2 nd half of the measure, the 1/2 bar fill is played at the beginning of the next measure. Voice Improved the synchronization of the Live Audio Drums when using the HARMONY or DOUBLE features with the lead voice. Tempo accelerando/ritardando By pressing both Tempo buttons (+ & ) together in the STYLE mode (LED on), the Tempo related features are displayed. Now, by touching and holding down for 2 seconds the ACC icon, you can access editable parameters for both accelerando and ritardando. Touching either the EXIT icon on the screen or on the panel returns the keyboard to the normal screen. The new functions available in the EDIT mode are Step, Lower, Limit and Upper Limit. Step Once turned on, this allows you to change the «rate» of acceleration or deceleration, so the tempo will increase/decrease in steps of x, rather than the default steps of 1: Range from 1 20: the change in tempo will be proportional to the quantity defined for each measure. Range from 1 20 beat: the tempo will be proportional to the value defined by each bar Lower Limit Use to set the lowest tempo value the style can go to when Ritardando is used, however please note that the value for the tempo (set in View => Drum) will take precedence over any minimum tempo value set. Upper Limit Use to set the highest tempo value the style can go to when Accelerando is used, however please note that the value for the tempo (set in View => Drum) will take precedence over any maximum tempo value set. The default values are: Step=5 (bar), Lower Limit=40, Upper Limit = 250. The defined values can be saved within the CUSTOM STARTUP. The accelerando & ritardando set values can also be saved within each style independently. If a style has

these values, these will superceed the default values saved within the CUSTOM STARTUP menu. Once the style has been stopped, the values return either to the default numbers (min = 40, max=250) or that stored within the CUSTOM STARTUP. In the PLAYER mode (when using Midifiles), the values that have been edited into or stored within the midifile are those that will be used (ranging from 1 20 bars). Drum RESTYLE The status of the DRUM volume slider is now stored when the RESTYLE function is used. This means if you replace a Midi drum with an Audio drum and adjust the volume level to suit the midifile, this level is also stored along with the audio drum used in the midifile. Launchpad Corrected the AUTO FILL function within the 16 Beat Ballad style and others. Corrected the sustained chord within the Live Audio Guitar by removing the hangging note. Corrected the Drum Volume slider setting for Grooves. Player Corrected the level of the right volume displayed in PLAYER mode Registration Registrations can now be loaded from USB sticks ( or external USB storage devices plugged into either of the 3 USB slots on the front panel). Live Modeling mute with Intro and Ending The intro and ending parts can now be muted when using Live Modelling in a style. Click The default volume level for the click track is now 127 and no longer 0 (so it is audible when initiated) and can now be stored in CUSTOM STARTUP. Fixed the use of the right reverb when using the auxilary output in SOLO mode Octave CHORD1 5: Added the capability to now change the octave of the Chords 1 5 in a style. In VIEW CHORD, you can now set the octave level of each chord (between 2 and +2)

MIDI MERGER: (Found under Menu Midi Midi Port) Added the possibility to now assign the physical MIDI in port to both GM and KEYBOARD modes (internal midi merger) USB midi device now assignable to the 3 front USB ports In the MENU CONTROLS screen, the USB MIDI IN KEYBOARD or GM mode can now also be assigned to the 3 front USB ports. This function allows you to now connect a Midi USB keyboard to either of the front USB ports and assign it to either function as KEYBOARD or GM mode. This setting can be stored as a CUSTOM STARTUP. You can now have simultaneously connected to the SD9 both MIDI In GM and a Midi USB device if in MENU CONTROLS, USB is set to MIDI IN KEYBOARD or a MIDI host device MIDI is set to MIDI USB KEYB. In the MENU MIDI setup page. Midi reset A new MIDI RESET control has been included as part of MIDI reception (code: F0 26 7B 39 05 00 F7). You can now change or select styles via MIDI IN (using Midi Keyboard RX part GLOBAL or RIGHT). o Bank 40 49 is used to select the Factory style groups (Ballad = 40, Pop = 41 etc.) o Program Change (0 127) is used to select the factory style within the selected style group. Max of 128 styles can be selected. o Bank 50 59 is used to select the User style groups (Ballad = 50, Pop = 52 etc.) o Program Change (0 127) is used to select the User style within the selected style group. Max of 128 styles can be selected. Footswitch New programmable footswitch functions include Reintro, Set Down and Set up. The Set down and Set up functions is used to switch between the 4 sets. This means for an example that even though you have a maximum of 13 functions you can program onto the FS13 (or 6 for the FS6), you can program different functions into the 4 sets and access each one for different performances, meanign you now have access to 13 X4 (52 functions for FS13) or 6X4 (24 functions for FS6). So in Set 1, Footswich #1 could be assigned to Start/Stop, while in Set 2, Footswitch #1 could be assinge to SUSTAIN. By switching between sets, you an now re assign Footswitch #1 to up to 4 different functions (determined by which set you are in).

New functions IntroOnArr and EndingOnArr have now been introduced this allows you to now automatically determine which intro or ending is heared based on the current Arranger being used (thus saving you pedals). If o ArrA is on => Intro/Ending 1 will be heard when pedal is pressed. o ArrB => Intro/Ending 2 will be heard when pedal is pressed. o Arr C & D => Intro/Ending 3 will be heard when pedal is pressed. New functions ARRANGER DOWN and ARRANGER UP have been inserted. This allows you to skip forward or backwards between the different style arrangements. User Buttons and Footswitch New function FswChDelay has now been introduced (and can be stored in CUSTOM STARTUP). Once turned on, this function delays the chord recognition of minor, 7th, m7th, 5+, dim, 6th and 7th when assigned to and used with the pedal in style mode. This gives you time to press the footswitch assigned to any of these chords a few bars before the actual chord change is needed very useful for Guitar players. Display Style info: Appart from displaying just the style s variation selection [A 1, B2, End1 etc], the measure count is also displayed e.g. [A] 1/8, 2/8, 3/8.8/8 (Arranger A, measure 1 of 8, 2 of 8, 3 of 8.8 of 8) [B 2] 1/4, 2/4 4/4 (Arranger B 2, measure 1 of 4, 2 of 4,.4 of 4)

Panel reboot application Simultaneously pressing both the Talk & Enter buttons will restart the SD9 without having to manually switch off the instrument. This may be useful if any anomalies should occur. Whole disk check Pressing both the Talk & Fade buttons simultaneously and pressing Enter enables the SD9 to do a complete disk check. This function takes quite some time and so the instrument should not be switched off during this procedure. Once completed, the instrument will restart automatically. Legato Enhanced the Legato function shown on page 4 of the Voice Edit menu. The Legato feature works on all the active voices except the Second voice. There are 6 types of Legato: 3 Mono Legato and 3 Poly Legato. Each time you touch the new Legato icon, a different Legato type is selected. Choices are: Fast with fast attack, Medium with medium attack and Slow with a slow attack. Filter feature for fight and left sections Press the Filter button to access the Live Efx menu. Touching the [Expand] box opens / closes a new menu to the left of the screen with 6 sliders and a few selection boxes. Each slider acts simultaneously on all the entries of the current Preset or Style by modifying the following parameters: Lfo Rate (modulation frequency) Lfo TVF (filter modulation) Lfo TVA (amplitude modulation) Q (resonance) FC (cutoff) Release Each graphic slider of the menu is associated (if selected/activated) to a physical volume slider as such: Player1 (controls Lfo Rate slider) Style (controls Lfo TVF slider) Drum (controls Lfo TVA slider) Bass (controls Q slider) Chord (controls FC slider) Lower (controls Release slider) Using the boxes above each menu slider you can enable / disable the physical slider (by default they are all enabled/yellow).

This is useful for de selecting an un used control or to choose to use the virtual sliders on the screen and thus maintain the physical sliders for the Arranger volume control. The setting values of the physical slider of the control, as well the Expand condition can be saved with Custom Startup. In the reset boxes placed under each virtual slider, it is possible to restore every single control to its default condition. With [Reset All], all the controls are restored at the same time. Pressing the Save button opens a link to save the current Voice selected. In Filter mode the modulation wheel controls the FC slider. If the LFO rate (Slider 1) falls below the minimum value (10) it will automatically be set as Tap Lfo mode, adjusting to the BPM of the style. Voicetron with midi files Voicetron On / Off status is now independent of the Midifile internal setting. On / Off status is then restored as well as the Preset Voicetron chosen by the user once the Midi file stops playing, even if the Midi file contains a vocalist track. Voice edit range Fixed error in the Range edit (page 2/6) where Range feature was highlighted in the Velocity box. Style Added page numbering to the Style selection page (bottom of screen). Arranger status sign on display is now yellow making the current arranger status more distinct. Added a save feature on the currently loaded style which allows you to save a user style in any other folder other than the USER_ STYLE or its source folder with re name feature (also available in style edit). If the Filter is assigned to Left part each setting can be saved inside the style by pressing the Save button. An independent Filter setting can be assigned to each Arranger. Filter has been added also In Left mode for Live Guitars. The global Q and Fc filters can also be saved in the style. Touch the Reset button for the global filter parameters. If you press the same Fill / Break while the style is playing, it automatically cycles through all the 4 fills and 4 breaks. Added in View Edit Copy screen, a new Export menu for the Style. You can now export the midi parts of the selected section as a Midi file by using the Export button <part name to export> to Mid.

In the Style Edit menu, it is also possible to record a sequence and then immediately export it with the Export to Mid function. These exported files are saved in the User_Modeling / Style <style name> / <selected section> folder. In order to use these files in Live Modeling, the exported Midi parts must be copied over to the User_Modeling folders (using MEDIA DISK EDIT). Fixed random errors on some Chord recognition. Improved the Voice List feature when assigned to a Style, while swap page is used. If To Style feature is Off, the User can select the page of Voice selected. If you press A, B, C, D with Autofill while last quarter is playing, during the FILL in some styles you could hear wrong bass notes especially in the times in ¾ (Eg Irish_Walz). This has now been corrected. Added on Main menu of Style Edit Part a new Listen feature which allows one to listen to the selected part of the style as a pre listening feature for recording purposes. Corrected display (was missing text End 1, 2, 3) while pressing Ending feature after a Fill in. Added to the Voice&Vari screen the possibility to now change the volumes of the 4 voices assigned to the ABCD arranger buttons. Improved chord recognition. Voices in registrations In the Registration screen, touching the new [Voice Select] icon on the display will show 5 boxes. The first box shows the current selected Voice; in the other 4 boxes you can assign voices (by holding down the corresponding voice icon as it already happens for the Voice & Vari function). Status of these 5 Voices can be saved in the Registration itself. Launchpad Launchpad section now has programmable Scene 5 and 6, which can be assigned to Intro and Ending, while Scenes 1 4 work as before (assigned to Arranger A D) when a style is ported over to the Launchpad. To do this, use the Export function of the style on Launchpad (as a style is playing, press the Launchpad button) or use Style Import from the Launchpad environment. (Please note that to perform the Export function of the Style in the Launchpad, it is necessary to play firstly the desired Style by pressing Start, then press the Launchpad key to open the Export menu which displays the selection of the Style parts to be exported.

Scene 5 now allows you to choose one of the style s intros to import (Intro 1, 2 or 3) then this will follow the rules of the Intro (see below), while scene 6, does likewise for the style s endings (1 3). The intro and ending selected will now follow as was the case with the style it is being imported from. In the Export menu, we now have added the possibility to choose the section of the Intro and Ending preferred among those available for export in scenes 5 and 6. Scenes 5 and 6 will have the name of Introx and Endingx (X = 1, 2, 3). With this mode if you press Introx when in Stop, the Launchpad will Start by playing the Introx scene and at the end of its measures will automatically switch to one of the selected 1 4 scenes before the Start. Pressing Endingx when the Launchpad is already run it will play the Endingx scene until the end of its measures and the Launchpad then will stop. The Endingx can be selected before the Start as the other scenes for which it will also be possible to start from the Ending. Introx and Endingx can be interrupted by other scenes during play. In Song Edit, if you select scenes 5 and 6, the original measures are assigned by default in the Repeat box. These can be changed, for example, reduce to be able to switch to another scene without waiting for their programmed ending measure to be completed. Added management of the Riff in Export and improved recognition of Chords in parallel mode (inversion). In Song Mode Edit, we ve added the possibility to stop the Launchpad at the end of the programmed sequence [Stop at End]. Added the possibility to have Intro Autocrash and Fill Autocrash on the Live Drum and Audiodrum sections imported from the styles. Keyboard control Added the possibility to save within the User Voice [Save to Voice <Voice Name>] the effect chain modified by Keyb Control. In this way, every single User voice can have its additional effects, exceeding the limit of the number of Factory Efx and User Efx already programmed internally. In the Keyb.Control Menu, if Efx is On, the insert is activated only where setting is On. Wrong data on reverb and chorus sends has now been fixed. Wah Wah 4 preset now also changes the response curve on the volume pedal when Wah Wah is enabled. Live drum stretching / EQ In View Drum screen, the new LiveDrum Adj control has been added.

This allows you to change the stretching times. Assignable values range from Default to 127. Values can be saved in every style. Notice: The value can only be set if the style is not being played. Added two equalization presets for the Live Drum: Hi Gain1 and Hi Gain2. Live modeling Now all sections can be managed independently, even on Fill, Break, Intro and Ending (if Global mode is not active/set). It is therefore possible to assign volume, reverb, chorus or mute to the individual sections of Fill, Break, Intro and Ending. With Key Start on and style not playing, you can select the desired Fill, Break, Intro or Ending, choose the pad you want to edit (by holding down the related key), then you can adjust the volume level, reverb and chorus or put the section in mute. Added Single/Global listen feature Tab on display. Optional internal hard disk If the instrument is equipped with an optional expanded internally installed hard disk, the folders User_Style, User Voice, User_Modeling / LiveDrum are now are visible and accessible on this media too. If the User_Style, User_Voice, User_Modeling folders are created on the expanded internal hard disk and on User_Modeling folder a LiveDrum folder is created, then all their files / folders are copied to the above folders. When the instrument is turned on, the files inside are add, viewed and managed just as those on the internal SSD of the SD9. This can allow the internal memory of the SD9 to be used and saved to another disk. In this case, User voices and the User styles that are used from this other disk drive will show the prefix "hd", denoting where it resides. Bass sustain to pedal In the VIEW Bass Sustain To Pedal menu, if Manual Bass or Bassist is being used, you can assign the sustain pedal to the bass. The function can be saved on Custom Startup, on Footswitch and User Tabs (Bass Sus. Pedal). User modeling You can manage Midi sequences realized with the Drumset by assign these to the Live Modeling (only in the Groove part). The sequences must be saved on the User _Modeling / Drum folder.

On Live Modeling, you can assign these as Groove part by choosing from the User Drum family. In the Launchpad environment, tables are displayed in the bottom under the Groove Kit Looper Kit menu. In Live Modeling environment it is now possible to assign Drum tables even withfill and Break. With Key Start on and Style in Stop, the Fill / Break is selected. From the Groove pad, you can browse the User Drum family from where to select the desired drum sequence. The Midi sequences of Fill and Break must be saved in the User_Modeling / Drum folder. With Voice Change you can change the Drumset. You can also adjust the volume, reverb and chorus levels. In Global mode the new Drum sequence is now is displayed with all 4 Fills or Breaks. In the Live Modeling menu, you can now assign Looper Kits to the Groove part, Chord1,2,3,4,5, by choosing these within the Groove modeling in the Kit Looper family. If a Looper Kit is assigned to the part, with the Voice Change key you can choose different sounds for each Kit. It is therefore possible to build up to max. 6 kits (Part Groove, Chord 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Disk edit Folders are no longer automatically available when the Disk Edit button is turned on. Update modeling tab Holding down the Talk + Fade buttons together, then pressing Style, the User modeling tables will be automatically be updated. Player Position track in the Player menu is now available with an enlarged font. Search function in the Playlist can only be activated for searching for files within a Playlist and not for searching the playlist with the arrow and or dial buttons. Fixed Pdf display problem when used with Mp3 / Wav + Pdf file selected after a Midifile with lyric (when pdf was disabled after the start of the Mp3). Voice Modulation was not reset by switching from a Voice with an activated Lfo to another without Lfo. This is now fixed. On Voice List, improved operation when used on To Style mode (Voice & Vari).

Arabic scale User Tabs: Arabic Scale function added (On/Off). When the user voice is loaded, the scale is updated if it has been saved (if enabled, it is immediately available). Fade out Improved Fade Out feature when used with Endings. Midi Midi Reset: Add Exclusive System message to perform Midi Reset Here is the code F0 26 7B 39 05 00 F7 (Hex). User interface Improvements on Keyb_Control, Dsp, Menu and Player1.
