ABOUT AIBMDA The All India Broadcast Manufacturers and Distributors Association, AIBMDA, was established in February 2008 as a non-profit company under Companies Act, 1956. The objectives of the association are to (i) Take up issues affecting growth of broadcast industry with Government and other regulatory authorities; (ii) Find ways of resolving problems faced by industry through a continuous process of discussion with members; (iii) Monitor developments in the broadcast sector and share it with members; (iv) Encourage technical innovation through financial and other help; and (v) Apprise engineers and broadcast professionals of latest developments in the broadcast sector through conferences, seminars and exhibitions. AIBMDA has 40 fully paid members on its rolls and plans to double the number by the end of the year. INDIAN BROADCAST MARKET According to the FICCI-KPMG Report 2013, the Media and Entertainment sector in India, currently pegged at INR 917 billion is expected to grow to INR 1661 billion in 2017 at a CAGR of 15.2%. According to the report, TV will continue to be the major contributor of revenue to the M & E sector followed by Film, Radio and Music in that order. Revenue from TV, placed at an estimated INR 419.9 billion in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 847.6 billion in 2017 at an impressive CAGR of 18% Revenue from Film, placed at an estimated INR122.4 billion in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 193.3 billion in 2017 at a CAGR of 11.5% Revenue from Radio, estimated to be INR 14 billion in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 27.4 billion in 2017 at a CAGR of 16.6% Revenue from Music, estimated to be INR 11.6 billion in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 22.5 billion in 2017 at a CAGR of 16.2% SOUTH INDIA S BROADCAST MARKET According to a recent report prepared by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu on Media & Entertainment in South India, revenue from South India s M & E industry, currently pegged at INR 239 million is expected to grow to INR 436 million in 2017 at a CAGR of 16%. With 56% share of the revenue, TV continues to be the largest contributor to M & E sector. Revenue from TV, currently placed at INR 134.7 million is expected to grow to INR 279.6 million in 2017 at a CAGR of 20%. Revenue from Film, estimated at INR 26.8 million in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 42.2 million in 2017 at a CAGR of 12%. Revenue from New Media, estimated to be INR 6.9 million in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 16 million in 2017 at a CAGR of 23%. Revenue from Radio, currently estimated at INR 4.2 million in 2013, is expected to grow to INR 8.3 million in 2017 at a CAGR of 19%. As shown above, the South Indian market for TV, Film and Radio is expected to grow faster than the overall Indian market over the next four years. This is the main reason why Chennai has been chosen as the venue for the exhibition. BROADCAST & MEDIA Broadcast & Media Technology 2015 is the second in the series of exhibitions to be organised by AIBMDA in Chennai. The exhibition attempts to apprise engineers, professionals, cinematographers, decision makers and entrepreneurs about the latest broadcast equipment available around the world.
DATES & VENUE Broadcast & Media Technology 2015 will be held on 17 and 18 July 2015 in Rajendra Halls 1 to 5, Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. ITC Grand Chola has one of the finest convention facilities among hotels in South India and is located close to Chennai Airport. The exhibition is being held in the hotel to ensure a high standard of service towards exhibitors as well as visitors. Stalls will be set up in the night of 15 July. Setting up of equipment and branding will be done by exhibitors on 16 July. The exhibition will be open from 10.00 A.M. to 6.30 P.M. on 17 and 18 July. PARTICIPATION Broadcast & Media Technology 2015 is open for participation by manufacturers and distributors of broadcast equipment and technologies for Radio and TV from India and abroad. Members of AIBMDA as well as non-members are welcome to participate in the show. The product-categories in which participation is open include, among others, Archiving DTT Multimedia Satellite & Microwave Audio DVB-H Networking Satellite Linking Automation Graphics & Animation Production Transmission & Delivery DRM HDTV Post Production Video DTH IPTV SAN/NAS Video Streaming VISITOR PROFILE Broadcast & Media Technology 2015 Broadcast & Media Technology 2015 will be visited by engineers, broadcast professionals, cinematographers and decision makers from Radio and TV channels, including AIR and Doordarshan, in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram. Visitors will be invited to the show through advertisements, invitation fliers, SMSes and e-mails. A list of people visiting the exhibition will be provided to exhibitors free-of-cost after the show. The show in 2014 was visited by 700 broadcast professionals over a period of two days. APPROVAL & SUPPORT Broadcast & Media Technology 2015 is approved by ITPO and supported by FICCI and several other Indian and foreign organisations.
EXHIBIT SPACE Space in the exhibition is available in multiples of 9 sqm. A standard 9 sqm (3m x 3m x 2.5m) stall in the shell-scheme will have the following furniture & fixtures One table measuring 1m (w) x 0.5m (d) x 0.75m (h) Two chairs Four lights One socket One waste paper basket Carpet and Company name on fascia Space will be provided strictly on first-come first-served basis. A floor plan of the exhibition is enclosed. INTERIOR DECORATION AND BRANDING The hotel does not allow works like carpentry and painting inside the halls. Exhibitors are advised to bring their display material in a ready-to-assemble condition and restrict their branding to walls of stalls allotted to them. Care must be taken to ensure that hotel property including carpet does not get spoilt in any way. PARTICIPATION FEE Participation fee for Indian and foreign companies is as follows Members/Non-members Indian Foreign Members Rs. 7,500 per sqm - Non-members Rs. 8,500 per sqm US$ 320 per sqm In both cases, Service Tax @ 12.36% is extra. Space in the exhibition is available in shell-scheme only. IMPORT FACILITY Foreign exhibitors can bring their equipment to India for display in the exhibition under ATA CARNET without payment of import duty. The facility is available to only those foreign companies who have paid their participation fee in foreign currency. The facility is not available to dealers, distributors or agents of foreign companies in India. HOSPITALITY To facilitate their stay in Chennai at the time of the exhibition, AIBMDA has booked a limited number of Executive Club rooms for exhibitors at ITC Grand Chola at special rates inclusive of breakfast and dinner.
