Chapter 1 Introduction This guide is divided into chapters that give you general information about F-Secure PSB software, its deployment and installation. This guide contains instructions how to install and administer F-Secure PSB Portal and F-Secure PSB software.

In this chapter, you find instructions how to create a new account to log into the F-Secure PSB Portal, and to download and install the F-Secure PSB software.

8 F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Getting Started Creating a new account You need to create a new account to log into the F-Secure PSB Portal. You can only create a company-level account from the F-Secure PSB Portal login page. If you need a different type of account, contact F-Secure. To create a new account: Note: If you have created an account, for example, for F-Secure PSB Server Security, do not create a new company account, but add a new subscription to the existing account. 1. In your browser, go to the URL that was provided to you together with the subscription key. You received the URL and the subscription key, for example by e-mail, when you purchased the product. The F-Secure Protection Service login page opens. 2. Click the Create your account link. The Create account page opens. 3. Enter the required information: In the Subscription key field, enter the subscription key that you received, for example by e-mail, when you purchased the product. In the Account name field, enter the name of the company.

F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Getting Started 9 In the User name field, enter the e-mail address of the user. The e-mail address is used as your login name. In the Password and Confirm Password fields, you must enter exactly the same passwords. In the E-mail field, enter your e-mail address. 4. Click Create your account. You will receive an e-mail message that shows your account information. 5. Click Back to the login page. The F-Secure Protection Service login page opens. 6. Log in to the F-Secure PSB Portal. Downloading Software You can download the F-Secure PSB Workstation Security, F-Secure Server Security, F-Secure PSB E-mail and Server Security, or F-Secure PSB Mobile Security software through the F-Secure PSB Portal. To download the software: 1. Log in to the F-Secure PSB Portal. Enter the user name and password, which you selected when you created your account. The Protection status page of the new account opens. 2. Click the Download software link at the top of the page. The Download software page opens. 3. In the Download software page, click the link for the software you want to download.

10 F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Getting Started Recovering your password If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it through the Forgot your password link. To recover your password: 1. On the log in page of the F-Secure PSB Portal, click Forgot your password? link. 2. Enter your user name, and click Submit. An e-mail message is sent to the e-mail address that you provided when you created the account. The e-mail message contains a link to the F-Secure PSB Portal where you can change your password. Adding a new subscription key for your company By adding a new subscription key for your company, you can add more computers to the portal To add a new subscription key: 1. Click the Subscriptions tab. The Subscriptions page opens. 2. Click Add a new subscription key. 3. Enter the new subscription key you have purchased, and click Add. The new subscription key is added to your company account.

JavaScript and cookies must be enabled in the browser Note: To use Profile Editor, you need to have Java Runtime Environment 1.6 or newer installed on your computer. F-Secure PSB Workstation Security local installation This section describes how to locally install F-Secure PSB Workstation Security. To install the program: 1. Locate the downloaded file and double-click the.exe file to start the installation. 2. Select the installation language, and click Next to continue. 3. Read the license agreement. To accept the agreement and to continue, click Accept. 4. Enter your subscription key and click Next. You must enter the same subscription key that you used when you created the account. 5. Select the installation type, and click Next: Automatic installation: The product is installed automatically. Existing security products may be automatically replaced. The product is installed to the default directory. Step by step installation: During the installation, you can change the installation directory. However, we recommend using the default directory. 6. When the installation is complete, the computer restarts automatically after a while. To restart immediately, click Restart.

14 F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Installing F-Secure PSB Workstation Security After the installation, log into the Portal to verify that the computer shows in the Portal. Note: In the Protection status page, you may see a green status icon with the text "Waiting for connection." It may take up to two hours before the connection is established. If the computer has not yet received the latest updates, you may see either a yellow or a red status icon. For more details on the computer(s), click the Computers tab to open the Computers page. F-Secure PSB Workstation Security remote installation This section explains how to remotely install F-Secure PSB Workstation Security. Before you start the remote installation, make sure that the domain controller exists and that the computers on which you want to install the software belong to a domain. To be able to remotely install the software, you must have domain administrator rights. To install the software: 1. Log in to the F-Secure PSB Portal. Enter the user name and password, which you selected when you created your account. The Protection status page of the new account opens. 2. Click the Download software link at the top of the page. The Download software page opens. 3. In the Download software page, click the Download the Remote Installation Tool link. If you have not downloaded the workstation software yet, click also thedownload the workstation software link. 4. Extract the Remote Installation Tool zip file on a local drive. 5. Double-click the ritool.bat file. The F-Secure Remote Installation Tool window opens. 6. In the Software to Install page, click. The Software Installer Selection window opens. 7. Locate the downloaded workstation software file and click OK. 8. Click Next. 9. In the Target Computers page, do the following: a) Under Domain Name, select the domain to which the computers belong. b) Under Computer Name, select the computers on which you want to remote install the software. 10. Click Next.

In the Account page, do the following: a) Select Another account. b) Enter the domain administrator name and password. c) Confirm the password. 12. Click Next. 13. Click Install. The workstation software is being installed on the selected computers. In the F-Secure PSB portal, verify that the computer shows in the portal.

F-Secure PSB Server Security installation Install the software on a computer and after the installation verify that the computer shows in the portal. To install the software: 1. Locate the downloaded file and double-click the.exe file to start the installation. 2. Select the installation language, and click Next to continue. 3. Read the license agreement. 22 F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Installing F-Secure PSB Mobile Security Adding a new mobile device You can add new mobile devices manually. The system registers mobile devices that you add once they connect to the system by activating the installed software. Activating the software is important, as it ensures that the mobile device receives the latest updates and virus definitions. When you add a new mobile device, it will appear on the list with the overall status Not connected. If the mobile device is not activated within three days, the status changes to critical (Never connected). Follow these instructions to add a new mobile device. 1. Click Mobile devices in the main view. The Mobile devices tab opens. 2. Click Add device to add a new mobile device. 3. Enter the necessary information to the Subscription key, First name, Last name, and Phone number fields. 4. Select Send download link and activation SMS messages to send a link to the product download page and the activation message to the user's mobile phone number as an SMS message. If you want to deliver the activation message some other way, leave the check box empty. 5. Click Add device. If you select Send download link and activation SMS messages, the user receives a link to the product download page and the activation message after the user account is created. The client application installed on the mobile device uses the activation message to activate the product automatically. Installation on the device Instructions how to install the product directly on the device Note: You should receive an SMS that contains links for downloading and activating the software. If you have a valid PSB Mobile Security subscription but have not received the activation SMS, contact your administrator. You need to have the installation file on your device to start the installation. Either download the installation file to your computer and move it to the device, or download the installation directly to your device. Follow these instructions to install the product using your mobile device. 1. Open Settings > Application and check that Unknown sources is turned on. Skip this step if you are not using an Android device. When this setting is turned on, you can install applications outside the Android Market. 2. If you downloaded the installation file directly, the installation starts automatically. Otherwise, find and open the installation file that you moved to the device. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the product. 4. When the installation is ready, restart your device if the installation asks you to do so. After the installation, you need to activate the product. The product does not protect your device if you have not activated it.

F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Installing F-Secure PSB Mobile Security 23 Activating Activating the product turns on the protection. There are three different ways to activate the product: Subscription key: You can use the subscription key that is given on your subscription agreement. You enter the subscription key when promtped during activation. SMS: Your administrator can send an activation code by SMS through the management portal. The product will automatically retrieve the activation code during installation. Follow these instructions to activate the product: 1. Start the application. The product displays the license terms the first time you start it. 2. Read the license terms and accept them. The activation starts after you have accepted the license terms. 3. Select the activation type. 4. The activation requires a connection to the update service. Press Yes to connect to the update service. The application connects to the update service and activates the product. If you used the subscription code to activate the product, the application downloads the latest virus definition database during the first update. 5. After the product has downloaded all the necessary updates, the activation is complete. Press Continue to finish the activation. The default firewall level is set to normal. Taking Anti-Theft into use You need to set up the screen lock feature before you can use Anti-Theft. On Android devices, you also need to create a screen unlock pattern. Note: On Android 2.2 and later platforms, you need to keep the device administrator activated for the product to use Anti-Theft features. To activate the device administrator, open the Anti-Theft settings view. Follow these instructions to take Anti-Theft into use: 1. In the main view, open Anti-theft. 2. In the Anti-theft menu, select Settings. 3. Select unlocking method for the screen lock and press Confirm. For more information, consult the documentation that came with your device. Skip this step if you are not using an Android device. 4. Select Set security code. The Set security code dialog opens. 5. Enter your security code and type it again to make sure you entered it correctly. You need the security code to use remote Anti-Theft features. 6. Press OK. Anti-Theft is turned on automatically after you have set the unlock pattern and the password.

24 F-Secure PSB Getting Started Guide Installing F-Secure PSB Mobile Security Turning on remote Anti-Theft When remote Anti-Theft features are turned on, you can send SMS text message to your device to lock it or to wipe information in it. To set up remote Anti-Theft: 1. In the main view, open Anti-theft. 2. In the Anti-theft menu, select Settings. 3. If you want to be able to lock your device remotely, follow these instructions: a) Enter a Security code if you have not created it yet. b) Turn on Remote lock. 4. If you want to be able to wipe your device remotely, turn on Remote wipe. 5. If you want to be able to locate your device remotely, turn on Remote locate. To use the remote locate, make sure that the positioning methods in your device are turned on. Usually these are turned on by default. For more information, consult the documentation that came with your device. The remote Anti-Theft is turned on.
