Superb precision thanks to quality design and engineering The compact high-end class features a number of design highlights, which often are not even found as a standard in large units. The axes and the precision rotary table are motorized with the axes moving in granite guideways on a total of 18 air bearings. This provides excellent dynamic rigidity and accuracy also when measuring heavy workpieces. Autostop functions are available in all drives to ensure that the stylus can be positioned faster, more reliably and with greater accuracy. Dialog-driven window technology The software allows measuring and programming procedures to be simplified according to logical setup requirements. All operational steps are assembled in menus, the drives are controlled by means of joysticks. The software offers a host of intelligent functions for the presentation and evaluation of results: magnifications up to 50,000x, different options for subsequent data calculation, flexible reporting formats, etc. Quick and easy handling Precise, servo-driven leveling and centering of the rotary table can be performed in the CNC mode. This saves time required for part alignment. The standard configuration of Rondcom 60 includes the sophisticated analog measuring probe. This high-precision inductive probe reduces collision hazard due to its mechanical and electronic overload protection. The probing force and direction are preset on the probe as a function of your application parameters. Rondcom 41A: complete form measurement Rondcom 46A: with thermally stable ceramic column Rondcom 75GB: for large, heavy workpieces
Surface measuring stations Standard evaluation of profile, roughness and waviness Fast surface verification in workshop, production and metrology lab Simple operation All customary standards, filter, curves and parameters Tolerance monitoring, internal data processing Variable record composition Surfcom 130 The compact workshop and production unit This functional measuring system consists of a high-grade 50-mm traverse unit, skidless probing system with a large measuring range and a powerful data processor. The software menus are designed for user-friendly operation using the clearly structured touch-screen display. Surfcom s hallmarks are its superb measuring and evaluation performance with international standards: from calibration and input prompts to language conversion and memo function. In addition, Surfcom 130 features a PCMCIA memory drive for storing programs and data.
Surfcom 1400 Professional precision The powerful TIMS surface measuring system is tailored to metrology laboratory requirements. In the X-axis, the 100-mm traverse unit (straightness accuracy 0.2 µm) is equipped with a glass scale. This guarantees reproducible results for the new DIN/ISO parameters and microcontours (option). The operator has all functions at his fingertips with the joystick and mouse. Even the creation of automatic measurement and evaluation runs becomes easy with learn programming. Surfcom 3000 Leading-edge accuracy Surfcom 3000 permits highly precise quality verification of contour and roughness parameters obtained from one single profile, in other words with one measurement. The hardware is based on the laser interferometric probe system with its resolution of 5 nm over the entire probing range of 12 mm, and benefits from the high straightness accuracy of the traverse unit of 0.35 µm/200 mm. Up to 150,000 measuring points can be captured at speeds between 0.02 mm/s and 2 mm/s. The use of state-ofthe-art technologies and materials eliminates environmental influences such as temperature fluctuations, for example. The software compensates for deviations of the probe arm geometry and the probe tip radius. With TIMS, Surfcom 3000 employs the same time-proven contour and roughness software as our successful Surfcom 1800. Nominal/actual comparison and CAD data exchange are standard features. 7
Contour measuring systems Flexible measuring stations for precise contour measurement Large measuring ranges for various contours Comprehensive accessories for a wide part spectrum Support functions for simple operation Automatic measurement in the CNC mode CAD + nom/act comparison, aspheric nominal value creation, etc. Example: Contourecord 2600 This instrument is equipped with incremental glass scales in the X- and Z-axes. Thanks to its large measuring range, Contourecord 2600 permits even larger parts to be measured with highest precision. The software compensates for deviations in probe arm and stylus tip radii. Simply measure Thorough high-speed calibration is achieved through the combination of calibration unit and menu-driven calibration functions. Preselectable parameters and alignment/support functions (e.g. definition of starting and end points, determination of the maximum and minimum points) greatly simplify measurement preparation, even for complex workpiece geometries. 8
Wide evaluation spectrum Performance upgrades A maximum of 10 profiles with up to 100,000 profile data points are processed and evaluated simultaneously. Standard functions are available like automatic element assessment and joining of different profiles. On-screen dimensioning enables your printouts to be dimensioned like your drawings. Print out your product quality Nominal/actual comparisons are easily achieved using the best fit method by comparing measured actual profiles with the data of measured reference workpieces or directly entered nominal profiles and CAD data (IGES / DXF format). The software also permits measured data to be converted into CAD data, so that the CAD process loop can be closed (option in C1600). Simply configure the printing layout of your measurement records according to your specific requirements, also including your logo. As several profiles or sections can be put together in different forms of evaluation, clear, easy-tointerpret graphs are obtained with minimum paper consumption. 9
TIMS the professional, Windows NT -based contour and roughness software Flexible, discrete or combined use State-of-the-art computer generation under Windows NT TM Easy handling, calibration functions and learn programming Variable, powerful record composition Direct switching of languages (German, English, Spanish, etc.) Powerful platform A matter of standard policy for Carl Zeiss: our instruments are equipped with the latest in computer technology on a PC basis. The TIMS measuring stations consist of the measurement computer with network card, color monitor and printer and the sophisticated measurement hardware. The traverse units feature glass scales. The operating system used for the TIMS software is the global industrial standard Windows NT, allowing TIMS systems to benefit from modern hardware and software technology. Efficient, convenient software options Contour evaluation window with profile evaluation, list of features and zoom display Roughness evaluation window with profile presentation, list of parameters, measuring conditions and graphs 10
Simple and flexible Direct CNC The TIMS measuring systems can be used separately as a roughness or a contour measuring station, and as a more universal combination. Just click the mouse to be guided through your applications, further supported by specially compiled customized tool bars. Multiple evaluation and output options for contour and roughness analyses provide optimum information in the form of clear measurement records, tailored to your requirements. Any number of conditions, results, programs and records can be stored for use at a later date. Efficient software functions for high-quality results It is easy to compile all program functions so obtain automatic measurement, evaluation and output routines for serial and repeat measurements: you simply use learn programming. Once the learn function has been activated, TIMS stores all steps performed by the user. This information can then be called up, edited and stored as a CNC program it couldn t be easier! TIMS measuring systems: Roughness: Surfcom 1400 Contour: Contourecord 1600 Contourecord 2600 Combined: Surfcom 1800 and Surfcom 3000 The standard TIMS software provides many supporting functions and programs. TIMS is capable of editing and evaluating 10 profiles simultaneously and in detail. Important measurement routines such as probe calibration, for example, have been combined into dialog-driven program routines. In addition, the performance spectrum can be enhanced by additional software options. These include microcontour for roughness profiles or nominal/actual comparison, CAD data exchange and aspheric nominal value creation.
