Adportas i2m is a robust IoT gateway with cellular communications capabilities (UMTS/HSPA+/EDGE/GPRS/GSM) developed for the interconnection of systems and machinery to the internet, remote management, and general automation and telemetry. This complex integrated 3G communications system has been completely programmed, electronically designed and assembled by the Adportas software and hardware departments. Adportas i2m captures information from any given device (electric meters, refrigerators, trucks, nodes, etc.) or wireless equipment within a network (Zigbee, 6LowPan, Mesh) and sends it as a data package to a soliciting server or recipient over a cellular network. 2. 2.2 APPLICATION EXAMPLE Nº2 FLEET CONTROL. Trucks equipped with Adportas i2m gain 3G connectivity and GPS allocation, enabling the supervision of routes and transit times, plus increasing fleet security in case of any unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, etc. Connected to the onboard computer via serial port, Adportas i2m can gather data regarding engine performance, oil levels, rotation and mileage, and become a valuable prevention tool for every truck within a fleet. Due to its powerful backend for the control and management of applications, the Adportas i2m IoT gateway provides all necessary remote management capabilities for the supervision of required parameters via its ports of communications (serial port, LAN, USB) and interactions with its GPIO ports and the two relays over 3G cellular network. The Adportas i2m SPSU (Smart Power Supply Unit), as its name implies, is an intelligent switch mode power supply with phase sensor. It supplies power by transforming Alternate Current (AC) from the electric network into Direct Current (DC) with a three phase 90 265 VAC supply voltage, 0 to 5 VDC logic levels, and works with any of the three electric phases due to its phase sensor that detects the correct functioning of these phases, receiving and delivering the necessary information if any of these fail (eventually solving the issue before a total failure of the electric circuits). Example of use: From the administrative website of the Adportas i2m IoT gateway it is possible to detect eventual failures and obtain parameters that will identify possible malfunctions in any of these three phases.
