Frequently Asked Questions 77
Frequently Asked Questions Q: Was my application submitted? How can I check the status of my application? A: You can verify that your application was successfully submitted by clicking on the My Job Page tab of the Career Section and selecting the My Submissions sub tab. This tab will list all submissions you have completed as well as those that you re still working on that are in draft status. The status of the application is listed under each of the jobs that you have applied to. To make a change to your application, click on the View/Edit hyperlink under the job listing. Q: Can I fill out a paper application? A: Unfortunately, PG&E does not accept paper applications. All candidates are required to submit an application for a job through our online application process via the PG&E website. If you are having difficulty applying online, please refer to the troubleshooting topics within this guide for assistance. 78
Frequently Asked Questions (cont d) Q: How do I log in to my account? A: From the Career Section Page (log into www.pge.com/careers), click on Search Management and Professional Jobs and then the Sign In link in the top right hand corner of the page. You can also select Access My Profile located on the right hand side middle of the page under job Search Profile. Q: Why do I need to apply for jobs individually? A: Prescreening questions are specific to each job opening and each application must be signed for individually via the e-signature tab of the application. All other fields from your general profile, however will automatically populate any non-job-specific field on the application. 79
Frequently Asked Questions (cont d) Q: Does my user name have to be an e-mail address? A: No, but we recommend that you use this. Personal e-mail addresses tend to be unique identifiers so there will be less of a chance that your username will be the same as another candidate s. Q: My resume is already uploaded to my general profile. Do I need to upload it for each job application? A: You do not need to upload your resume each time, however, you will need to check off the box next to the resume (and any other additional attachments already uploaded on your general profile that you want included) under Relevant Files. Your documents will be listed but will not automatically be included unless you select the box indicating to include them. If you upload a new resume or document when you apply for a job, the box will automatically be checked to include the document. 80
Frequently Asked Questions (cont d) Q: It has been a few months since I logged in and I forgot my password. How do I access my account? A: At the login screen under the password field, you will see a hyperlink entitled Forgot Your Password? Click on that link and follow the instructions to receive an e-mail with instructions and an access code to reset your password. For more details refer to the Forgot My Password section of this user guide. 81
