Bluetooth Remote 1. Charge the remote for at least 5 hours before initial use. 2. LED light shines solid green when fully charged. Charging the Bluetooth Remote and Transmitter Remote OFF Fully charged Needs to be charged Transmitter 1. Charge the Transmitter for at least 5 hours before first use. 2. LED shines red while charging. 3. When the Transmitter is turned ON, the LED shines blue. 4. LED will flash blue when it s searching for a connection with the Bluetooth remote. 5. Acoustic Programs Volume and Programs (NO Bluetooth) Your hearing aid is equipped with 4 acoustic programs. If NO remote is paired with the aid, these programs are as follows: WITHOUT Bluetooth Remote Program 1 Program 2 Program 3 Program 4 Automatic/Universal Automatic/Universal + More Volume Automatic/Universal + Less Volume Conversations in background noise You can also change the volume by pressing the + or - buttons on the Remote Increase volume Decrease volume 8

Acoustic Bluetooth Programs (WITH Bluetooth) When the Bluetooth Remote is paired with the hearing aid, you have two acoustic programs available, in addition to 3 Bluetooth Programs. When no Bluetooth sources are available, you will only hear 2 programs (1 beep & 5 beeps) when pressing the Program Button: Program 1 and Program 5. Please refer to the diagram below. WITH Bluetooth Remote Program 1 Program 2 Program 3 Program 4 Program 5 Automatic/Universal Bluetooth Phone(for cellphones) Music via Bluetooth/Induction Loop (for mp3, tablets, etc.) Transmitter (for TV or any non-bluetooth devices) Speech in noise Note: When in a Bluetooth Program, the external device must be connected, otherwise the remote will not detect them. For example, if your cellphone is not operating, Program 2 will not be an available program. 9

Cellphone Pairing Please note that you can pair your Bluetooth Remote with your cellphone. The remote relays information to the hearing aid. Your cellphone must have Bluetooth enabled to successfully pair with the remote. 1. Remote must be charged at least 5 hours before use. Charger is included with package. 2. Turn on your cellphone s Bluetooth. 3. Scan for devices. 4. Hold the Telephone button on the remote for 2 seconds; this makes the remote discoverable. 5. RCU Connect should appear on your phone. Select RCU Connect to attempt to connect. 6. Once successful, your cellphone will display Connected (note: varies with phone). 7. Pairing does not have to be done more than once on the same phone. 10

iphone/ipad Cellphone Pairing Pairing your iphone/ipod (for ios 6.9 and earlier) 1. Be sure to charge Bluetooth remote before use 2. Find the Settings icon; tap it 3. Tap the Bluetooth category, then slide the icon dial to the right 4. Hold the Phone Button on the remote for TWO seconds to make it discoverable 5. The RCU Connect should appear under Devices 6. Tap RCU Connect to pair 11

Android Cellphone Pairing Pairing your Android Device 1. Be sure to charge Bluetooth remote before use 2. Find the Wireless Settings icon on your phone; tap it 3. Tap the Bluetooth category, then slide the icon dial to the right 4. Hold the Phone Button on the remote for TWO seconds to make it discoverable 5. The RCU Connect should appear after you tap Search for devices 6. Tap RCU Connect to pair 12

Making / Receiving Calls Once your cellphone and remote have been paired, you can easily receive calls. When your phone rings, you can press the phone button on the top left to listen to the conversations through your hearing aids. Your remote will work as the microphone. You can end the call by pressing the same phone button on the remote. To reject calls, hold phone button for three seconds. If you are on your cellphone already, you can easily route the call to your hearing aids by pressing the Bluetooth Scanner Button (top right). Bluetooth Scanner Button 13

Phone Calls Using the Bluetooth Remote During Calls The Bluetooth Remote operates within short distances. For best performance, keep the remote within 2 feet. Use the lanyard or clip to fix the aid onto your upper body or place it in your pocket. Your hearing aid needs to be close to the remote control, primarily for phone calls. The remote also has a microphone that picks up your voice during a phone call. Listening to music/sounds via external devices The same rule applies to devices like the ipad, ipod, and tablets; the remote has to be close to the hearing aids. 14

How to connect the Transmitter to TV NOTE: Be sure to charge your transmitter at least 2 hours before use. 1. Locate the composite cables in the box received. 2. In the rear of your TV, locate the AUDIO OUT area and connect the composite cables. 3. Connect the female end of the composite cable to the stereo cable. 4. Insert the other male end of the stereo cable into the Audio Input of the Transmitter 5. Use the Bluetooth Scanner Button (top right button) on remote to detect transmitter. Once it connects, the LED light on transmitter should be stable. Blinking indicates its attempting to pair. 6. Bluetooth Integrations with Transmitter Your ablue can integrate with many devices. The transmitter allows you to connect any non-bluetooth devices with your hearing aid.
