ADP Vantage HCM Navigation for Practitioners Introduction This is a high-level look at the various navigation features associated with ADP Vantage HCM. The features available are dependent upon your job role and the task you are performing. This job aid will cover the following features. Login Page The ADP Vantage HCM login page displays two choices: User Login and Admin Login. As a practitioner, you will use the Admin Login option, which requires Administrator Access to access the system. Other roles use the User Login option. If you are a first-time user, you can register from this page. If you forget your user ID or password, click the appropriate link, and then follow the instructions to access the system. Page Elements In the top-right corner, you have access to your profile, configuration, and preferences. My Profile By clicking My Profile, you are able to view your basic information, also known as your business card. This includes your name, employee ID, job title, employment status, department, location, manager s name, email address, work-phone number, cell-phone number, and picture. Preferences By clicking Preferences, you can manage your contact information and your security information. Option Description On the Communication tab, you can manage: Your work and personal e-mail addresses. You will select one email address to use for all notifications. Your phone numbers by storing up to 12 phone numbers/phone types, such as office, cell, fax, pager, and so on. On the Security tab, you can manage your security information: On the Password tab, you can change your password. You will enter your current password, the newly created password, and the confirmation of the newly created password. On the Questions tab, you can manage your five security questions and answers. On the Language tab, you can manage: The language you want used for all pages, fields on pages, menus, and help information. Alternatively, you can select the language you want used when you login. Configuration By clicking Configuration, you can configure page content, page layout, fields, and the ADP Vantage Home page, and you can update the theme. You will see the Configuration icon on the menu bar only if you were granted access to make these types of changes. Option Description You can access Pages to configure page presentation and the various sections of the ADP Vantage Home page. There are two separate options for configuring page content depending upon whether the page is dynamic (communicates with the system of record) or static (does not communicate with the system of record). If the page is static, you can configure the text, add an image, add a link, hide content, assign separate content to different user groups, and so on. Note: The various Home page sections, such as Company Mission, are not separate pages; however, you still configure the content by clicking Pages. If the page is dynamic (consists of an activity), such as Emergency Contacts, page configuration provides options to configure the page instructions and the fields. o On the Instructions tab, you can modify the default instructions. You can add or remove additional instructions. You can configure the page by adding an image, adding a link, etc. You can hide the instructions. Finally, you can assign instruction text to certain user groups. o On the Fields tab, you can configure whether a specific field is hidden or is required by the various roles. On the Fields page, you can customize fields by either changing the label name or by hiding the field from view. These changes are applied globally across all pages in the system. The ADP Vantage Home page is the landing page that your employees first see upon successful login. You can select one of the predefined templates to customize the layout of the Home page. Drag and drop the sections to include on the page, such as Company Events, Company Mission, What s New, etc. You can add text, images, links, etc. to the various sections by clicking Pages. The Theme page allows you to select one of the ADP predefined themes. You can also customize the look and feel by adding your company s logo and changing the background color. In addition, you can assign the customized theme to different user groups and/or set a default theme. Copyright 2015 ADP, LLC. Page 4 of 11
Support By clicking Support, you can view your company s contact and resource information. Support & Information houses ADP-provided product content. Contact Support houses contact support information, such as phone numbers, mailing addresses, email addresses, and so on. Resource Center houses client-specific content, such as training documents, links to company Web sites, procedural documents, and so on. Calendar By clicking Calendar, you are able to view the following items: The employee schedule calendar, which includes your work schedule, on-call times, and scheduled time-off shifts (only available if your company has purchased this service) The company calendar, which includes holidays and special events Select a date or advance to a future month to view additional calendar information. In addition, you can view the full calendar. In the full-calendar view, you can view the employee and the company calendars on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Message Center By clicking Message Center, you can view new or unread messages. There are two message types: tasks (represented by the pencil) and notifications (represented by the letter i). This quick view displays up to five messages, which are sorted by message type and then by creation date. Click the subject to view the message summary. Click Action to review, approve, or reject a message, or to view the message history. The Action selections available are dependent upon the message type. Click View All Messages to view all messages. On the Message Center page, you can view new, in-progress, or completed messages. Working On The Working On/Dock-It functionality allows you to save an in-progress activity, which you can then access and finish later. Home Page The ADP Vantage Home page houses valuable information about your company. The Home page may have several sections, such as Company Events, What s New, and common employee activities, such as My Time and My Benefits. At the bottom of the page, you can view copyright information and additional links. Link Description The Privacy button allows you to view the ADP Vantage HCM Privacy statement. The Legal button allows you to view the ADP Vantage HCM Terms and Conditions of Use statement. The Requirements button allows you to view a list of the Internet browsers supported by ADP Vantage HCM. The Product Feedback button allows you to provide your feedback or view other client feedback concerning the system. Copyright 2015 ADP, LLC. Page 7 of 11
Buttons and Icons ADP Vantage HCM has many buttons and icons within its interface. The table below lists a selected few. Button Description The Add button enables you to add a record, an option, or an entry. The Delete button enables you to remove a record, an option, or an entry. Select the appropriate row(s) prior to clicking Delete. The Action icon enables you to view a list of additional activities or options. The Reveal button enables you to unmask personal information, such as Social Security number, bank account number, credit/debit card number, driver s license number, date of birth, age, compensation, and so on. The Help icon enables you to view online Help, which provides detailed instructions on how to complete the various tasks within ADP Vantage HCM. Copyright 2015 ADP, LLC. Page 8 of 11
Menu Bar The menu bar consists of two sections: menus and search. Menus Menus and activity options will vary depending on your assigned role and security. Menu Role Description All Access the ADP Vantage Home page. All Access information about your company, such as policies, procedures, forms, resources, FAQs, and so on. Employee Manager Practitioner Practitioner Access activities associated with your role as an employee, such as personal information, time, attendance, money, benefits, career, training, and so on. Access activities associated with the manager role, such as job activities, time, attendance, person information, reports, setup, recruitment, history, and so on. If you do not have direct reports, you will not see this menu option. Access activities associated with employees, such as person information, employment, talent development, pay, taxes, benefits, time, attendance, job activities, history, and so on. Access activities associated with various processes, such as payroll, benefits, benefits monitoring, workflow administration, time, attendance, compensation management, utilities, and so on. Practitioner Access to various reports. Practitioner Access activities associated with configuring benefits, security, fields (definition and mapping), workflows, and so on. Copyright 2015 ADP, LLC. Global Search The Global Search field allows you to locate contact information for the employees in your company. This field is a predictive search, which means as you type, the search results narrow. Once you locate the appropriate contact, click Action to view the employee s business card. On the business card, click the employee s email address to compose a message quickly. Search criteria for the Global Search field include the following information: The field is not case sensitive. The field uses starts with logic, which means if you type the letters tom, the search result displays all first and last names that begin with those characters. If you enter a last name and then a comma, the search will look for last names only. If you enter a comma and then a first name, the search will look for first names only. Valid input is A-Z, a-z, 0-9, commas, spaces, and dashes. Click the magnifying glass ( ) icon to access the advanced search.
