System Requirements FileCruiser server can be installed as a VM (Virtual Machine) of KVM or VMware hypervisor. However, in order to make sure FileCruiser performance will not be affected by either hypervisor above, some hardware and system OS requirements will be enforced as followings. Hardware: CPU: 64-bit x86 CPU (Intel E5 4 cores and above with Intel-VT Enabled) Memory: 8 GB and above Network: 1 NIC Disk Space: 1 TB and above Hypervisor (KVM): System OS: Ubuntu 12.04 Server edition with and above CentOS 6.x Server edition and above 2 cores and above CPU: Memory: 4 GB and above Disk Space: 500 GB and above Note: Installing Virt-Manager software for KVM is highly recommended. When importing the VM image in Virt-Manager, please make sure you select QCOW2 for the storage format. For additional details, please refer Appendix A in below. Hypervisor (VMware): System OS: VMware ESXi 5.x and above CPU: 2 cores and above Memory: 4 GB and above Disk Space: 500 GB and above Note: Installing VMware vsphere software for VMware is highly recommended. For additional details, please refer Appendix B in below. 3

How to configure FileCruiser VM FileCruiser VM is released as a KVM or VMware image file, which is created with 2 virtual CPU cores, 4 GB memory and 500 GB dynamic virtual disk. Depending upon what hypervisor, KVM or VMware, you are using you need to download corresponding FileCruiser VM and import to the hypervisor manager. Once you have imported FileCruiser VM to the hypervisor, you will need to do the following steps to configure the FileCruiser system. 1. Boot up the FileCruiser VM. 2. Use the terminal to login FileCruiser VM. Username: promise Password: filecruiser@pr0mise Note: the 0 in the password is the integer zero. Note that the FileCruiser VM system root user password is LittleYummy. 3. Use command ifconfig to get FileCruiser VM network IP address for eth0 interface. Note: If VMware or KVM server is not DHCP enabled, or the FileCruiser VM default network settings are not suitable for your network, please change FileCruiser VM network interfaces in the /etc/network/interfaces file to meet your network environment after login FileCruiser VM. 4
