The screen will turn on after making a sound, then the unit will enter record mode Power Off Hold the POWER button to turn unit off. Once the screen turns off, let go of the POWER button Ignition Start Function Connect the unit to the supplied cigarette adaptor while it is plugged in to the cigarette socket Once the ignition is turned and the car is on, the Unit will automatically turn on and begin recording Once ignition is turned off, the Unit will automatically turn off after saving the recording, depending on the length of time you set for auto off. Record (REC) Mode Press the MODE button to select REC mode (if not already on REC mode), a microphone symbol will display on the bottom of the screen near the center Press REC to start recording. A Flashing red dot on the top left corner of the screen will appear to indicate the Unit is recording. Press REC again to stop recording
Incident Recording Once the unit senses a spike in G Forces while recording, the unit will separate and label that file starting with SOS. A spike in G Forces may occur when an incident happens. The unit assists in locating the file by saving it under SOS and protects the file by locking it from accidental deletion. The video file will display a gold lock on the screen when it is a protected file Photo mode Press the MODE button while on REC mode to select Photo mode, a camera icon will appear on the top left corner to indicate the unit is on this mode Press the REC button to take a photo, screen will flash one time which means a photo has been taken Video/photo playback Press the MODE button while on Photo mode to select playback mode Press the UP or DOWN buttons to select memory card (SD CARD) or internal memory (NAND FLASH), use REC button to select For a photo, only a file number will show on the bottom right corner. For a video playback, there will be a play icon in the center of the screen Press the UP or DOWN button to move through the files Press the REC button to play or view the selected video files. Press the REC button to pause the video Zoom While the unit is on or recording, press the UP button to zoom in or the DOWN button to zoom out. The maximum amount of zoom is 4x.
IR LEDs (for low light recording) While the unit is recording, press the POWER button to turn the IR (infrared) LEDs to assist low light or night time recording. Notice the symbol in the bottom left corner will change accordingly: : IR LED off : IR LED will automatically come on when low light detected : IR LED on Position Recommendation: It is recommended that the camera lens is pressed up or as close to the windscreen as possible while using the IR LEDs to help prevent light distortion. NOTE: IR light is invisible to the human eye, the only indication that the IR LEDs are operating is viewing from the LCD
Recording, Photo & Playback Settings Menu While on REC, Photo or Playback mode, press the MENU button once to access the Video, Photo or Playback mode settings respectively. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to move up or down in the menu settings Press the REC button to select a setting. Once within a setting, use the UP and DOWN buttons to scroll through the options and press REC to toggle a setting The selectable settings for the Video Mode are as follows: * Size Enter to change the available recording size and resolution * EV Enter to adjust the exposure value settings * Audio Enter to turn on or off the built in microphone for video with audio recording * White B Enter to change the white balance values * Contrast Enter to change the contrast settings * Sharpness Enter to change the sharpness settings * Effect Enter to change the colour filter * Recycle 3 Min: File recording will be saved in 3 minute intervals 5 Min: File recording will be saved in 5 minute intervals 10 Min: File recording will be saved in 10 minute intervals Once the MicroSD card is full, the oldest recorded file will be recorded over, and so on. NOTE: If Off is selected, then the file lengths will be divided in to 10 minute files. Unit can not record in greater than 10 minute files * Delay Off Enter to turn on or off the function for the unit to automatically turn off after parking. * IR Light Enter to change the IR Light settings * Motion Det Enter to toggle on or off the motion detection recording function * MD Sens Enter to change the sensitivity of the motion detection, 1 being least sensitive and 8 being most sensitive.

Press UP or DOWN to change values and REC to move to the next value. The date format is set at YEAR/MONTH/DAY * Clock Enter to change the time * TV Out Enter to change the video format to view on your TV * Format Enter to format the memory, i.e. erase all data stored on the memory card * Sys. Reset Enter to restore the unit back to factory default * Auto Off Enter to change the time the camera will turn off automatically when not in use * Light Freq Enter to change the frequency depending on your location * Stamp Enter to change the stamp on the recording or photo * LCD Off Enter to change the amount of time for the device to sit untouched till the LCD turns off * G Sensor Enter to change the G Sensor sensitivity * GPS Enter to change whether or not to use the GPS tracker * Pla. Stamp Enter to change the vehicle license plate. License plate will show as a stamp on the video in the upper right corner. * Version The software version on the device
USB mode Once the unit is connected to the computer via USB, 3 options will come up: 1:MSC Select this mode to access the files saved on to the unit s memory and on the memory card in the unit 2:Charge Select this mode to just charge the unit 3: Open Select this mode to use the camera as normal whilst connected Battery Information Battery indication image: Full battery Half battery Low battery Battery empty Charging the unit: To charge the unit, connect it to a USB supply using the supplied car charger, the USB cable when connected to a PC or USB power adaptor. The red indicator will light up when charging; the average charge time is about 180 minutes, once full the red light will turn off. Troubleshooting If the unit freezes or does not respond to any button command, use a pin or a thin tool to press the reset button located on the top. If the unit is not recording or taking a photo, check to ensure the MicroSD card has been formatted and is not locked. Please format your MicroSD card. If the video or photo is unclear, ensure that the lens is clean using a dry soft cloth.
Using the Program 1. Create a new folder in your computer (anywhere you prefer) called Car Event Recorder Player 2. Insert the supplied CD into your computer. 3. Open the CD and double click on the zipped file to open. 4. Right click on the.exe file and select Extract Files 5. Find the folder you created in step 1, and extract to it. 6. Once it has been extracted, go back to the CD and double click on the codec file. Follow the instructions on screen to install. 7. At the top left, click on File and Open to select a file Select the file you would like to add to the playlist. To select multiple, hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard while you click the files.
Select the file you would like to view, and press the Play button. The video, GPS, G Sensor, speed sensor and compass will all work at the same time to give you information. NOTE: The red side of the compass arrow points to the direction of travel. When the video is opened to full screen, only the video will be seen on screen. Double click the screen or press the ESC key to exit full screen mode. To save a screenshot of the video, press the Print Screen button.
