Revision A McAfee Client Proxy 2.3.4 Installation Guide (McAfee epolicy Orchestrator) Installing Client Proxy software Client Proxy software Client Proxy consists of server and client software, whose deployment details depend on which management platform you are using. Server software The server software, which you install on the McAfee epo server, adds the Client Proxy server functionality to the McAfee epo platform. Because the server software extends the McAfee epo functionality, it is called the extension software or extension. Client software The client software is checked in to the Master Repository on the McAfee epo server as a package and then deployed to the client computers in your organization. Client computers are called endpoints. Deployment from McAfee epo This table summarizes how the server and client software is deployed when Client Proxy is managed with McAfee epo. Management platform McAfee epo Server software (extension) Install the extension software on the McAfee epo server. Client software (package) Check in the client package to the Master Repository and deploy the package to the endpoints. 1

Client computer requirements Client Proxy software runs on the endpoints in your organization. Before deploying the software to the endpoints, verify that they meet these requirements. Hardware requirements RAM 1 GB minimum (2 GB recommended) Hard disk 300 MB free disk space minimum (500 MB recommended) Supported operating systems on the endpoints The Client Proxy software supports the following operating systems on the endpoints: Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows Server 2012 Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows Server 2016 Windows 7 Windows 8 (Not including Windows 8 RT (Run Time) edition) Windows 8.1 Update 1 Windows 10 Windows 10 Anniversary Update Windows 10, version 1703 Windows 10, version 1709 Windows 10, version 1803 OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) macos 10.12 (Sierra) macos 10.13 (High Sierra) Support for macos 10.13 (High Sierra) Client Proxy supports macos 10.13 (High Sierra) installed on the endpoints. Users must approve the Client Proxy kernel extension on endpoints running macos High Sierra, or the operating system blocks the files from loading. For more information, see McAfee Knowledge Base article KB90232. 2
