Medical Device Integration Medical Device Integration allows Medtech Evolution to consume and process the various reports generated by a medical device and import relevant medical records into the Patient Inbox and Patient Screening modules. Medtech has currently been configured to interact with following devices provided by Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation. Welch Allyn PC based ECG Welch Allyn Ambulatory BP Welch Allyn PC based Spirometer More options for Medical Device Interfaces will be added as we receive requests from customers to enable integration. If you have a specific medical device that you would like Medtech to investigate integration with, please contact Medtech Support. How It Works The Medical Device connected to the Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation (CPWS) performs the patient test and the test output generated by the Filelink process will be available in a configured common path for the Medtech Services to process and import into the Patient Inbox and Patient Screening modules in Medtech Evolution. Medtech Evolution is configured for each vendor s Medical Device. Separate configuration needs to be done for various Medical Device types. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 3 of 11

Medical Device Interface setup in Medtech Evolution EMPOWERING HEALTH File Options Medical Device Setup Medical Device test output that needs to be imported into Medtech Evolution must be configured within the setup. Set the configuration in the Medical Device Interface setup as shown below: Activate this Medical Device: Tick to activate this Medical Device to process and import the Test Output. Import Path: Specify the path where the Test Output will be available. Inbox Folder: Specify the folder in which the Test Output is to be displayed. Measurement Mapping: Map the Screening Term and Measurement for measurements that can be received from the Test Output. o Measurements will be different for each Device Interface. Currently, Measurements are available only for the below mentioned devices in Test Output: Welch Allyn Ambulatory BP Welch Allyn PC based Spirometer Copyright Medtech Limited Page 4 of 11

A double-click on Measurement will open the Screening mapping for the corresponding measurement. Important Note The Import Path configured in Medical Device interface setup in Medtech Evolution should be same as the Output Directory path configured in CPWS > File Link Preferences. Setup Required in CardioPerfect Workstation (CPWS) EMPOWERING HEALTH CardioPerfect Workstation application is installed with the plug-in CardioPerfect File Link program. The File Link Preferences window in CardioPerfect Workstation provides the ability to configure: where the output files will be created how the file name will appear when the files will be created Click the Preferences menu item on the File Link tab to set preferences. File Location: Enter drive and directory location that CPFileLink will store the output files in. The Import Path configured in Medical Device interface setup in Medtech Evolution should be same as the Output Directory path configured in File Link Preferences. File Format: The File Format options provide a user-configurable format for the file name of output files. Select the fields and a delimiter to use in the file name. It is recommended that the file name should start with Test Type and End with Test Date. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 6 of 11

File Type: The File Types section provides the ability to choose the image output type. The Image Type should be selected as PDF. Only PDF format can be processed and imported in Medtech Evolution. Important Note The checkboxes at the bottom right side of the Preferences screen control when output files are automatically generated, and the type of output. In this section, both Image and XML file should be selected together for any stage of file creation; because the XML file contains patient demographics and discreet test data in a predefined metadata format, which can be imported into Medtech Evolution and matched to a Patient. Using a Medical Device from CardioPerfect Workstation (CPWS) CREATE PATIENT With Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation, you can keep track of your patient administration. You can store various kinds of patient information, such as patient name and number, address information and medical data that is important for tests. The following fields in the Patient card window should be recorded in order to match the Test Output with the patient available in Medtech Evolution: Number Last Name First name DOB Copyright Medtech Limited Page 7 of 11

It is recommended that the Number field in CardioPerfect Workstation Patient card is used to record the Patient NHI. It is also assumed that same patient will be available in Medtech Evolution (Manually Created) with the same set of information to match the Test Output against the patient, failing which, the patient record will be Unmatched and the user has to manually match the patient. CREATE TEST Once you have created a patient card or selected an existing one, you are ready to run a test on the patient. Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation offers these diagnostical tests: ECG Spirometry ABP It is recommended that Referring/Ordering/Attending physician is provided in the test information in order to match the respective attention provider in Medtech Evolution; failing which, it will be matched to the default provider in Medtech Evolution. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 8 of 11

Viewing Medical Device Test Output in Medtech Evolution Once the Test is performed and Test Output is generated and available in the configured Import path in Medtech Evolution, then the Medtech Service will process the Test Output immediately and import it into the corresponding folder in Medtech Evolution Inbox and match it with the respective Patient and Provider. On filing the Inbox Record, relevant Screening entries will be created in Patient Screening based on the screening mapping provided in the Medical Device Interface Setup. Important Note For the import to happen seamlessly, ensure that the Medtech Service is running on the Application/File Server. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 9 of 11

Consultation Enhancements Go Dot in Consultation Notes Patient Consultation When setting up a clinical keyword it is possible to add a Go Dot within the description/ Consultation template that requires a response. While entering consultation notes, users can use the preconfigured keyword to enter common comments and use the Go Dot function to fill in the blanks. As an example, from within the consultation screen enter a full stop followed by the clinical keyword (e.g..urine) and hit the enter key. This will populate the consultation screen with the keyword description with configured in setup. Using the contextual menu (right click) select Go Dot or press Ctrl + G. This will take the cursor to the beginning of each of the three dots to fill in the missing information in a sequence. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 10 of 11

Resolved Issues The following list details the issues that have been resolved in this release: Appointment Notes were not carried over to the drag and dropped Appointment in Appointment Book. The Outstanding Amount in Patient Palette/Account Holder screen and Outstanding Amount in Statement Historic Report were not matching. The error "The 'Value' property cannot be set to a value that is outside the range determined by the 'MinValue' and 'MaxValue' Properties was displayed on selecting Modify Banking Close-off. Announcements were not displayed fully in the Announcement window when triggered for patients. The Patient PID segment was not available in Claims files if the same patient had more than one Invoice done on the same day. Printers reconfigured within the printer setup were not considered for Printing unless the user Logged out and Logged In to the application. The Provider and Patient Inboxes were unable to be filtered based on information entered into the Containing Text field in the filter screen. Filtering using Text was case sensitive in Daily Record filter Containing Text field. Multi Page Document Scanning was not considering a Blank Page as a file breaker to split the file. Total Outstanding Amount was incorrect in the Historic Statement Report in a specific scenario when the Statement Form and Format is selected as Open Item and Statements respectively.
