Dropbox provides storage space for users to grab files from any device that has Internet access. Dropbox gives you free storage up to 2 GB and the ability to easily share files with others. Dropbox can be accessed from mobile devices as well. Set up - Computer 1. On your computer, go to http://www.dropbox.com 2. Click the Download button. 3. Dropbox will download a folder to your computer. This allows for easy access to Dropbox. However, you do not need this for every computer you access (see page 4). 4. Follow the directions on the next screen for installing. You will set up an account while installing. Any file you place in Dropbox, you will see on every computer that you download Dropbox or from your web browser access. See the rest of the guide for more information. Set up - Mobile Device ipad, iphone, itouch devices: 1. Go to the Mac App Store located on your device. 2. Search for Dropbox. 3. Click Install. You may need to enter your Apple ID and password. 4. Andriod Devices: 1. Download to your device. http://www.dropbox.com/android 2. Log in (if you already have an account) or set up an account. Folders Once you have installed Dropbox on your computer, you will notice the folder has other folders installed within it. Photos: Store your photos in the Photos folder. When you access Dropbox from a web browser, the photos will display like an album. Public: Place documents in this folder to easily share with others. See page 6 for more information. Add Space Get more Dropbox space by referring others. For every person you recommend, you can get 250 MB more space. You can gain up to 16 GB of space from referrals. Access from Internet Explorer or Safari You do not have to install the Dropbox folder on every computer to access Dropbox. If you are at a public computer, you can access Dropbox from Internet Explorer or Safari. 1. Go to the main Dropbox page. http://www.dropbox.com 2. In the top, right corner, click Log in. 3. Type in your username and password. The browser window will reveal your folders and files. Education Services 4
Once you click on a file name, more options appear for that specific file. Education Services 5
Other Options with Internet Explorer and Safari Events: Click the Events tab to view past actions in Dropbox. This can be helpful when looking for a file. Links: View all your created file links. Remove links from this area as well. Help: Help tab provides other helpful tips. Save Documents to your Dropbox Folder Save documents to your installed Dropbox folder. 1. If your file is open (like in Word or PowerPoint), go to File Save As. 2. Look for the folder labeled Dropbox. 3. Click on the folder in Dropbox you would like to save the file. You can also drag and drop your files into Dropbox. Open the Explorer or Finder feature on your computer to access your files and the Dropbox folder. Education Services 6
Sharing Files/Folders Option 1: Share an individual file 1. Right click on the file and choose Dropbox Get Link. 2. You can now share the web page address to this file by pasting the link. Right click Paste in your email, School Center page, and other documents. In Internet Explorer or Safari: 1. Click on the link icon for the specific file. 2. The document will open in a new window. 3. Copy the link from the new window. Option 2: Share another folder with an individual 1. Right click on the folder you wish to share. Choose Dropbox Share this Folder. 2. Type in the email address or multiple email addresses of those you wish to share the folder. No one else will have access to the folder. Education Services 7
3. Click Share Folder. Dropbox In Internet Explorer or Safari: 1. Choose Sharing from the left sidebar. 2. Click the New Shared Folder button. 3. A box will appear for you to choose an existing folder or create a new folder. Click Next. 4. If you create a new folder, complete the information. If an existing folder, choose the folder from the list. 5. Dropbox will send an email to those you wish to share your folder. Sharing Files Other Info For an individual file, providing the link will allow others to view the file. They do not need a Dropbox account. The recipients of a folder will receive an email. They will need a Dropbox account to access the folder. When they access the folder, they can delete and add to the folder. Using the Events tab from the web browser, you can undo any deletions. Delete others from folder: From the web browser, click Sharing from the left sidebar. Choose Options Members tab. Click on the drop down arrow next to their name to uninvite. Education Services 8

Share Files from ipad 1. Open the file. 2. Tap the link icon located in the top right of the screen. 3. Choose Email Link or Copy Link to Clipboard. Email Link: Email the link directly. Copy Link to Clipboard: Paste the file link into any app. Menu Bar 1. To navigate Dropbox, click the located in the top, left corner of the screen. 2. Your files will appear along with a menu bar at the bottom. Dropbox: Shows all your files and folders. Favorites: View your Favorites online or offline. Uploads: Upload files to Dropbox. Upload Files 1. Press Uploads from the Menu Bar. 2. Press the plus sign from the top right corner. 3. Tap the photos and videos you wish to upload. 4. Browse your Dropbox folder for a destination. Tap Choose. 5. Press Upload. Delete Files 1. Locate the list of your files from the Menu Bar. 2. Press the Edit button in the top right corner. 3. will appear next to each file. 4. Open Files in Other Apps 1. Open a file in Dropbox. 2. Press the arrow in the top right corner. 3. Depending on the file type and apps downloaded on your ipad, a list of apps will appear. 4.
