Step A: Review Issue Details Summary After reviewing the information, if you feel you may have received this CAR in error, you can scroll to the bottom and select Dispute, type the reason you are disputing in Action Type Comments and then click.. After reviewing the ST Due Date, if you know you cannot complete the Short Term work on or before this date, then select Request More Time, type in how much more time you need and why in the Action Type Comments and then click.. 3

Interim Containment (MNCs ONLY) For MNCs ONLY, additional fields are visible to record part sorting information. There are 15 possible inventory locations where parts may be found. This completes Responding to the Short Term Work of a CAR. You will now notice the CAR ST Status now says ST-Submitted for Approval in the My CAR/SCAR/PAR section on the CAR/SCAR tab. The short term work is now completed. What Happens Next? Short Term Work The Respondent can continue working on the long term work by clicking on the LT-Action Requested found under LT Status. 7

Document Team The CAR defaults to show one Team Leader (Respondent) and one Team Member (Approver). Step E: Identify Team Members The default values can be updated and more team members can be added using Add Member. Root Cause Attachments in the Root Cause Analysis Section are specific to root cause work. General Attachments are at the bottom of the form. Step F: Identify Root Cause Analysis Use analysis templates and external methods to determine the root cause and then record your results here in the mandatory fields. 10
Record Actions Action Items are optional and can be recorded here or assigned out as assignments to other valid users. Step G: Record Action Items This section is optional but once an action is recorded in the Action Description, the section becomes mandatory and additional required fields appear on the form. Summarize CAR Step H: Summarize the Permanent Corrective Actions Record the permanent fix in the Summary of Permanent Corrective Actions field and enter a Long Term Clean Date for this MNC-CAR. The Long Term Clean Date is not a mandatory field for a PNC-CAR. 11
Similar Processes Step I: Identify Similar Processes Where Fix Can Be Applied Although this section is optional, it is always recommended to review all areas to see if there are other similar process that could benefit from this permanent fix. If applicable, record the details here. Reports For further details, click a report button to view the current Information on the due dates, non-conformance, or CAR. For example, click through the CAR. to see all the dates from the MNC 12

The long term work is now completed. What Happens Next? LongTerm Work The Respondent work is completed unless the Approver rejects back the short term and/or long term work.
