Back Them Up Backing up the Data for the First Time 1. You should see both master and slave hard drives before you move onto the next step. Note: The picture is shown with an internal 2.5GB IDE primary slave. Attention ExData User Did you remember to partition and format the hard drive before this? That might be the reason you cannot see your other hard drive(s)! 9
2. Click on the Synchronize tab, and highlight the primary master as the source and primary slave as the destination, then click Synchronize to backup your data. 3. You can rename the label with something other than MIRROR_DRV, and click start to begin the very first backup. 10
4. Exdata Pro is backing up your whole hard drive to your slave backup drive. 5. Now your master hard drive is fully copied onto the slave drive. You can now turn on the AutoSync to do Advance backup features. 6 Make a right click on the AutoSync icon on the task bar to enable it. AutoSync Icon 11
Note: Click enable to enable the autosnyc. Advanced Backup After you have synchronized for the very first time, you can use ExData Pro s Autosnyc option to backup your data by file, folder, directory or the whole hard drive. And you can also set the time you want to backup your data. Now let s take a look at the simple steps. 1. Click Schedule to setup the time you want to backup your data. 12
2. Just click next to continue. 3. You can choose to backing up the data with startup, before shutdown, when computer is idle (Checked by default) or advanced scheduling options. 13
4. All schedule options are really easy to use, and that goes the same to the Advanced Scheduling. *You can choose to backup your data daily, weekly or monthly. 5. To select a job, you need to choose from a drive (In this case, there is only one source drive). 6. And you can choose only the folder(s) you want to back up in the future. 14
7. Uncheck everything else that you do not wish to back up (In this case we choose the INF folder in Windows folder). 8. Click Update Job and type in a job name (In this case it s Untitled). 9. Now your system is in good shape. Your system will backup the data at your the schedules you set up. And in case something happens to your primary hard drive, you still have everything on the secondary hard drive. 15

Just highlight your primary master as the source drive and your primary slave as the destination drive. Click on the Upgrade button and you are good to go. Note. You need to make sure the drive that you are upgrading to is larger than your current drive. Advanced Backup Restore Basically, the Restore feature is almost same as the Upgrade feature. Let s say if you have to make a backup copy of your current hard disk to another larger hard disk. Or you can use the backup hard drive to restore your old hard drive. 16
