Kontiki 9.0.2 Release Notes Introduction Welcome to Release 9.0.2 of the Kontiki Enterprise Video Platform. This release focuses on MediaCenter, a brand new enterprise video portal, as well as several important features such as clientless delivery via a Content Delivery Network (CDN). MediaCenter We conceived MediaCenter after analyzing years worth of feedback from VideoCenter users as well as market trends, competitive offerings, and user interface innovations. We then went back to the drawing board and designed a new portal. We are very proud of the end result, and believe you will be impressed. In coming years we will keep evolving and enhancing MediaCenter, enabling you to spend your time creating compelling video content while we make sure the overall distribution and consumption experience is the best it can be. Key Benefits: Massively configurable with unlimited branding options Integrates Live & On-Demand Video into a single unified portal Allows each company division to have a distinct video homepage Enables featuring related files like PPT and PDF next to videos. Dramatically improves moderation and permissions management Kontiki 9.0.2 Release Notes Page 1 of 6

Other New Features CDN support Enhance clientless playback for live events by leveraging a Content Delivery Network (EdgeCast) supporting mobile and desktop viewers worldwide Live event archiving Live events are automatically archived. A MediaCenter administrator can make them available as Video on Demand. SAML Enhancements Robust SAML integration capabilities making groups management easier by letting API users add, update, and delete users, group, and membership information. Enhanced REST API Rich API enhanced with new capabilities designed to make portal implementations more efficient. Important Notes If you use VideoCenter today, your experience will not change. Kontiki will create your MediaCenter at a separate URL which you can reveal to your end users when you are ready. When used with a Kontiki client, MediaCenter requires client version 8.3 and up for full functionality. To take advantage of the new Content Delivery Network (EdgeCast) feature, contact your Customer Success Manager. The version number for the REST API is now v2. Existing REST API implementations that specify v1 in the resource path will still work; however, we recommend updating the version to v2 to make use of any new API features. For instance, change: https://hostname/api/v1/resource to https://hostname/api/v2/resource The REST API has been augmented with a new search engine, available for v2 API users. V1 implementations will keep using the same search engine as before. Kontiki 9.0.2 Release Notes Page 4 of 6

Known Issues The following non-critical issues will not be addressed as part of this release, but will be addressed in a future release. 28493 Playback of.mpeg or.mpg files works as expected, but trimming them results in an error. Workaround: Rename.MPEG and.mpg files to.mp4 before upload. 28477 When using AD/LDAP, content owners get notified about content pending approval, but content moderators aren t. Workaround: The content owner can forward the notification to the content moderators. 28475 The display name of the From user on email notifications can be confusing. Workaround: administrators should change that user s display name to be generic. 28472 Minor issue with availability start date setting: Reset button does not reset the Available from date. Workaround: Refresh the page. 28446 Non-video files fail to open on Android 2.3.5 devices. Workaround: Use newer Android or other devices 28445 Internet Explorer s compatibility mode is not supported in MediaCenter. Workaround: Use Internet Explorer s default mode 28443 When stopping a live event, the message "Event ended" is shown based on a comparison between the server time and the local browser time. If the user has their clock set to an earlier time than the server's, the event will say "Ongoing" until their local clock catches up. Workaround: Make sure the local time is set correctly. 28441 Channel viewership group settings take precedence over channel moderation or channel ownership settings. In certain situations channel moderator and channel owners cannot view the media page of a channel they can edit. Workaround: Give channel moderators and channel owners viewing rights to their channels. 28363 The RSS view in Google Chrome is not formatted properly. Workaround: Install an RSS Chrome Extension like the one available here. 28250 Live events are only available for viewing at the set start time, which makes it difficult for producers to test the video stream before the actual event begins. Workaround: Set the start time to be before the actual event start time. 28221 Audio is not delivered on clientless live events on PC & Mac when using MP3 audio format. Workaround: Use AAC audio format. Kontiki 9.0.2 Release Notes Page 5 of 6

28200 RTMPS events fail if a bitrate is not specified. Workaround: Specify a bitrate. The specified bitrate should be at least as high as the actual bitrate. If an encoder is streaming a higher bitrate than specified, buffering and interruptions may occur. 28156 The VP6 encoder is not supported on clientless live events. Workaround: Use H.264. 28073 Android 4.0: VoD Playback stops after a few seconds when using the default browser in nonfull-screen mode. Workaround: Use full screen mode or view in Chrome. 28072 Live events show up in search results on Pre-4.0 Android and Windows Phone mobile devices, however they cannot be viewed. Clientless playback of live events is not yet supported on these devices. Workaround: Use ios devices, newer Android devices, or a desktop computer (PC or Mac). 28019 Encrypted non-video content cannot be opened on Google Chrome. Workaround: Use a different browser or refrain from encrypting videos if Chrome is widely used in your organization. Additional Information Need Assistance?
