LOGO IDENTITY Primary Logo 03 The logo should be used in the primary format as much as possible. The primary logo has solid red flames and a sold BDC. Old logos with the gradient should no longer be used. There are times when the primary logo won t work (dark backgrounds, one-color requirements, etc.) causing poor visibility. BDC COLORS Color Usage In order to simplify and clarify the BDC visual identity, red -along with supporting neutral colors of black, grey, and white are the primary colors used for communication design. BDC TYPE Typography 07 The typefaces chosen for BDC communication is an important, if subtle part of the brand identity. Not everyone will be able to use the main brand font due to downloading restrictions etc. Designers should use the primary font face in web and print whenever possible. Additional fonts are allowed in design collateral as seen fit. Internal BDC staff can use the secondary fonts for flexibility and ease of use. The main goal is to always provide high readability and consistency.
PRIMARY FONT - Open Sans Open Sans is a sans-serif typeface designed by Steve Matteson and commissioned by Google. It has strong readibility in small and large sizes. It s a print and web font that can be downloaded here. All weights of Open Sans are within the BDC type guidelines. BDC TYPE SECONDARY FONT - Helvetica Neue This typeface, designed by Max Miedinger and, has become one of the most famous and popular typefaces in the world. Helvetica is commonly a core typeface in most base operating systems (PC and Mac).
